Radiant Mirage

My God, Radiant Mirage is stunning! It’s a clean white floral mixed with strong patchouli! If you don’t like patchouli, this might not be for you, but if you’re into patchouli, this is a very likeable, elegant patchouli centred juice. And it’s even more beautiful (and intense) than Serene Sierra which was also instant love. It’s the freshest, most transparent patchouli combined with lush Sambac jasmine and fine, creamy, smooth sandalwood. If I wouldn’t have checked the note pyramid, I would have assumed that rose is the soliflore of this juice, to my nose it smells like there’s some rose mixed with patchouli, lingering in the background. The performance is good, true to its name, radiates nicely in the air, it’s not a beast mode scent but it’s intense and rich smelling. It reminds me slightly of Carine Roitfeld’s Carine and Tom Ford’s discontinued White Patchouli. Carine is way more peppery, spicy in the opening than Radiant Mirage but in dry down the patchouli note shines brighter than anything else in both. White Patchouli has a wider variety of florals in the heart notes that makes it smell more nuanced and a touch on incense in the base. So scent wise is more complex and faceted than Radiant Mirage. This is more straightforward patchouli with a bit of floral sweetness. For those who are looking for a beautiful, deep, elegant, classy patchouli focused perfume, that’s mass appealing, I feel like they can’t go wrong with Estée Lauder take. It’s been made by the famous Quentin Bisch so that’s another indication of a spectacular scent. This is a very well executed perfume! That man rarely misses the mark if you know what I mean. Soo beautiful and alluring, pure seduction...And so underrated! Edit 27.10.24: I have worn Radiant Mirage daily since I got it (because I am literally obsessed with it) and it reminds me automatically of my beloved (and discontinued) Gucci Guilty Intense. Does anyone else noticed this resemblance or is just me??

if this perfume has 0 fans i am dead. to say that i would kill for this perfume would be an understatement. it's so addictive and sensual it literally has me curling my toes and rolling my eyes back. the first time i ever smelt this in the mall i swear i was enchanted by something because i got a whiff of what i imagine heaven would smell like. its so dreamy, ethereal, mysterious, captivating, magical and unique, i guarantee you will not smell like everyone else. i'm usually picky with my perfumes and nothing ever really gives me the "wow" factor but this on a whole other level.. it's so beautiful, the note combination just works so well together and its just a potion of perfection. this is exactly what I imagine a fairy or witch would smell like, it's just got such a magical essence to it. it's fresh, airy, spicy, clean, and all of the notes blend together beautifully to create an expensive elegant aroma. i'm absolutely devestated that estee lauder has discontinued the line because I would truly use this as a signature scent for life, and it's the perfume which originally sparked my interest in fragrance simply because of how bewildered i was by it's beauty. smells like an absolute goddess. i know im yapping about it so much but i could truly talk about this scent for hours, its been my number one for years and ive smelt hundreds of different perfumes and nothing has come close to this masterpiece.

I was given this perfume by a friend because she didn't want it, so I knew nothing about it. It smelled quite nice around the nozzle, a bit complex, but I couldn't put my finger on the notes. When I sprayed on myself though, it opened with a clear... old-fashioned(?) but not in a bad way kind of woodsy scent, that's sandalwood. But soon a clear patchouli dominated, which was surprisingly tolerable for me as someone who doesn't usually like patchouli. At its post-spritz peak, there is something strong and... moving(?), something that may be what Bisch means by "intensely emotional". For the majority of the wear, where the patchouli dominated, it smelled grand and mature, like I'm a socialite attending a ball in a buzzing room with golden decor and people holding champagne flutes. Overall, it smells simplistic, but mature. The patchouli still has a bit of that heavy, cloaking feel to me, but less choking and more smooth than some others, which reminds me of Guerlain's Patchouli Paris. But perhaps since I'm still sensitive to the patchouli and feel it dominates, I'm not really picking up any jasmine, or maybe it's just there as a supporting role to round off the texture? But I have to say this, something that annoys me quite a bit, is that the naming in this Estée Lauder collection is random, arbitrary and contrived. Nothing in this perfume spells "radiant" and definitely not "mirage" to me.

Like others in Estée Lauder's luxury line, Radiant Mirage features a silly name and a simple-yet-excellent composition. It is a refined, grown-up scent that features a creative riff on a familiar accord - a risk that really pays off. RM features an aromatic woody opening, rich and full-bodied, setting off the clean jasmine note beautifully. But it is the patchouli that sets this scent apart. Unusually clean, it is herbal in a cleansing manner and complements the other notes to perfection. Woody jasmine is quite a common accord, but the patchouli here sets it apart. The jasmine note is fleeting, giving way to the patchouli that takes centre stage. As it dries down, it becomes a balsamic patchouli scent with remnants of sandalwood. No jasmine remains by this point. The patchouli develops beautifully, becoming slightly oud-like during its later stages, but in a palatable, dry, earthy manner. It fades to a dry patchouli skin scent. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long-lasting. Unisex to my nose, RM is a sophisticated everyday scent featuring an ingenious use of patchouli. Simple yet effective, it is comforting and wearable as well as being artistic. Really good stuff. 4.5/5.

Another wee beauty from Estée Lauder Luxury Collection! Lovely, clean scent profile. The sandalwood is quite unique in this one - almost has a cedar quality to it which, mixed with the softness of the jasmine and the extremely clean patchouli - dries down and lingers beautifully. It is a very uplifting perfume and is very easy to wear. I spend a lot of time outdoors and this feels like a perfect fit for me as an everyday wear when I want to just feel 'put together' and getting on about my business. Lasts really well on skin - easily 8hrs and sits nicely on fabric for days. Lovely sillage - there in an understated, luxurious 'yeah.. I know who I am and what I'm all about' kind of a way rather than a 'this perfume is wearing me' statement. 07/11/24 A year in - I can honestly say this is my most reached for perfume. It is utterly sublime. The dry down on this is spectacular - manages to stay bright and fresh for eternity. Found a scarf I'd had it on last year.... It still retains it's notes. A lot more than the 3 notes listed! It is beautiful, elegant and refined but never 'stuffy or snooty'. Perfect!
