Radiant Mirage

My God, Radiant Mirage is stunning! It’s a clean white floral mixed with strong patchouli! If you don’t like patchouli, this might not be for you, but if you’re into patchouli, this is a very likeable, elegant patchouli centred juice. And it’s even more beautiful (and intense) than Serene Sierra which was also instant love. It’s the freshest, most transparent patchouli combined with lush Sambac jasmine and fine, creamy, smooth sandalwood. If I wouldn’t have checked the note pyramid, I would have assumed that rose is the soliflore of this juice, to my nose it smells like there’s some rose mixed with patchouli, lingering in the background. The performance is good, true to its name, radiates nicely in the air, it’s not a beast mode scent but it’s intense and rich smelling. It reminds me slightly of Carine Roitfeld’s Carine and Tom Ford’s discontinued White Patchouli. Carine is way more peppery, spicy in the opening than Radiant Mirage but in dry down the patchouli note shines brighter than anything else in both. White Patchouli has a wider variety of florals in the heart notes that makes it smell more nuanced and a touch on incense in the base. So scent wise is more complex and faceted than Radiant Mirage. This is more straightforward patchouli with a bit of floral sweetness. For those who are looking for a beautiful, deep, elegant, classy patchouli focused perfume, that’s mass appealing, I feel like they can’t go wrong with Estée Lauder take. It’s been made by the famous Quentin Bisch so that’s another indication of a spectacular scent. This is a very well executed perfume! That man rarely misses the mark if you know what I mean. Soo beautiful and alluring, pure seduction...And so underrated! Edit 27.10.24: I have worn Radiant Mirage daily since I got it (because I am literally obsessed with it) and it reminds me automatically of my beloved (and discontinued) Gucci Guilty Intense. Does anyone else noticed this resemblance or is just me??

if this perfume has 0 fans i am dead. to say that i would kill for this perfume would be an understatement. it's so addictive and sensual it literally has me curling my toes and rolling my eyes back. the first time i ever smelt this in the mall i swear i was enchanted by something because i got a whiff of what i imagine heaven would smell like. its so dreamy, ethereal, mysterious, captivating, magical and unique, i guarantee you will not smell like everyone else. i'm usually picky with my perfumes and nothing ever really gives me the "wow" factor but this on a whole other level.. it's so beautiful, the note combination just works so well together and its just a potion of perfection. this is exactly what I imagine a fairy or witch would smell like, it's just got such a magical essence to it. it's fresh, airy, spicy, clean, and all of the notes blend together beautifully to create an expensive elegant aroma. i'm absolutely devestated that estee lauder has discontinued the line because I would truly use this as a signature scent for life, and it's the perfume which originally sparked my interest in fragrance simply because of how bewildered i was by it's beauty. smells like an absolute goddess. i know im yapping about it so much but i could truly talk about this scent for hours, its been my number one for years and ive smelt hundreds of different perfumes and nothing has come close to this masterpiece.

I was given this perfume by a friend because she didn't want it, so I knew nothing about it. It smelled quite nice around the nozzle, a bit complex, but I couldn't put my finger on the notes. When I sprayed on myself though, it opened with a clear... old-fashioned(?) but not in a bad way kind of woodsy scent, that's sandalwood. But soon a clear patchouli dominated, which was surprisingly tolerable for me as someone who doesn't usually like patchouli. At its post-spritz peak, there is something strong and... moving(?), something that may be what Bisch means by "intensely emotional". For the majority of the wear, where the patchouli dominated, it smelled grand and mature, like I'm a socialite attending a ball in a buzzing room with golden decor and people holding champagne flutes. Overall, it smells simplistic, but mature. The patchouli still has a bit of that heavy, cloaking feel to me, but less choking and more smooth than some others, which reminds me of Guerlain's Patchouli Paris. But perhaps since I'm still sensitive to the patchouli and feel it dominates, I'm not really picking up any jasmine, or maybe it's just there as a supporting role to round off the texture? But I have to say this, something that annoys me quite a bit, is that the naming in this Estée Lauder collection is random, arbitrary and contrived. Nothing in this perfume spells "radiant" and definitely not "mirage" to me.

Like others in Estée Lauder's luxury line, Radiant Mirage features a silly name and a simple-yet-excellent composition. It is a refined, grown-up scent that features a creative riff on a familiar accord - a risk that really pays off. RM features an aromatic woody opening, rich and full-bodied, setting off the clean jasmine note beautifully. But it is the patchouli that sets this scent apart. Unusually clean, it is herbal in a cleansing manner and complements the other notes to perfection. Woody jasmine is quite a common accord, but the patchouli here sets it apart. The jasmine note is fleeting, giving way to the patchouli that takes centre stage. As it dries down, it becomes a balsamic patchouli scent with remnants of sandalwood. No jasmine remains by this point. The patchouli develops beautifully, becoming slightly oud-like during its later stages, but in a palatable, dry, earthy manner. It fades to a dry patchouli skin scent. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long-lasting. Unisex to my nose, RM is a sophisticated everyday scent featuring an ingenious use of patchouli. Simple yet effective, it is comforting and wearable as well as being artistic. Really good stuff. 4.5/5.

Another wee beauty from Estée Lauder Luxury Collection! Lovely, clean scent profile. The sandalwood is quite unique in this one - almost has a cedar quality to it which, mixed with the softness of the jasmine and the extremely clean patchouli - dries down and lingers beautifully. It is a very uplifting perfume and is very easy to wear. I spend a lot of time outdoors and this feels like a perfect fit for me as an everyday wear when I want to just feel 'put together' and getting on about my business. Lasts really well on skin - easily 8hrs and sits nicely on fabric for days. Lovely sillage - there in an understated, luxurious 'yeah.. I know who I am and what I'm all about' kind of a way rather than a 'this perfume is wearing me' statement. 07/11/24 A year in - I can honestly say this is my most reached for perfume. It is utterly sublime. The dry down on this is spectacular - manages to stay bright and fresh for eternity. Found a scarf I'd had it on last year.... It still retains it's notes. A lot more than the 3 notes listed! It is beautiful, elegant and refined but never 'stuffy or snooty'. Perfect!

With an animalic punch to the schnoz to start, I was unsure of where this was headed. Initially a scent of stanky butt had me raring back from the spray on my wrist with a “what the heck” (the words were different but the sentiment the same) 🤣... A few minutes later and another hesitant sniff, things started changing quite dramatically. The patchouli was so present. But the animalic notes were gone. This clean almost barbershop scent pushing up through it all - in front of the phantom leather notes my nose perceives somehow. I really dig it. The jasmine comes across to me as a fresh creamy soap like note. It calls to mind some vintage aftershave I no doubt snuck sprays of back in the day. Something citric, soapy, violet leafy. I’m not sure what. Maybe a couple of scent memories combined. It walks the line. Ever so lightly more masculine but I love it. Another that I will eventually call home. This one is one of the stronger and very long lasting ones of the line. Over 8 hours now and counting - I can clearly smell it as I move my hands around.

Of the new EL collection, this was my immediate favorite and it struck me as familiar, but I couldn't quite place it. Fast forward to today - the second I sprayed it, it brought me back to my grandmother's Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio in the early to mid 1990s. It almost always smelled like this, because my grandmother used their signature perfume (Décolleté) as an air freshener. She wore it, too, but she would spray it in the air, so people would ask what the scent was and buy it. They do have similar notes and must have a very similar blend of woods and jasmine, because this is near identical to my memory of the scent. It sounds like it would be a heavier scent, from the notes. However, I think the jasmine elevates and lightens it. I guess you'd say it was a mirage. haha So it becomes an airy, almost effervescent, floral with the slightest hint of woods and patchouli. Smells "rich" (as in, money) but not in a heavy way.

I love patchouli, all kinds, all interpretations, I do not discriminate-- get that Pogostemon Cablin into my nose right now and at all times. This is a really subtle take on it, one that even people who aren't as in love with patchouli as I am could appreciate. This is the first Jasmine fragrance I've liked, but honestly, I don't think it's too unique, despite the creative take on Jasmine. It's a crowd-pleaser, in my opinion (my aunt who was really desperate to get me to stop smelling like a Hookah-bar-combination-hippie-shop bought it for me, specifically because of the femme, inoffensive jasmine), and smells like a mixture of a lot of things I already have/appreciate, maybe thrown into a bag from a metaphysical store, just to stress the patchouli. Overall, I think it's nice, but its longevity is pathetic compared to other scents in the line, 4 hours at most, and it doesn't smell "expensive", just clean.

Reviewed from a single use sampler. The woodiest of woody perfumes with an airy floral accord. I am not getting the listed sandalwood this is more cedar and blonde woods to me, I have a bottle of Desert Eden and that is a sandalwood forward fragrance whilst this one only has a hint of spice and aromatic notes. As a patchouli lover I don’t consider this a ‘patchouli’ perfume as there is no earthy note and I am struggling to pick it out as a separate note. I don’t really agree with the Reminds Me Of list which contains many patchouli bombs. To me this has Chanel Chance eau Fraiche vibes but without the lemon/citrus which makes it wearable all year. It is classy, clean, unisex and very wearable. The longevity is good, I am not getting much silage but it may be the nature of the sampler. I feel this is more an intimate perfume giving off gentle whiffs throughout the day. Would be office appropriate.

This is beautiful. When I was wearing it, I was thinking that it smelled like paint or something. I drilled my brain to think of where I have smelled that fresh paint scent before, and I realized it was Tom Ford’s White Patchouli. The notes, at least on paper, are very similar: white flowers and "clean" patchouli. I mostly smell the jasmine and patch combo, and binding them together is a teency bit of sandalwood. I can't smell the sandalwood clearly, but occasionally it gives an effect that reminds me of a sandalwood incense stick. The scent is very modern and sophisticated. This is by far my favorite of this collection, the only one I want to own! Edit: I got an official sample from the counter, and upon further tests, I swear that there’s a cool, clean, crisp fruity note in the top that smells like you’re biting into a fresh apple. So enticing! Really sets it apart from White Patchouli.

Radiant Mirage shares similar structure as Gris Dior but Gris Dior pulls floral fruity aspect, supported by patchouli note. Radiant Mirage is more patchouli heavy. Still, sweet floral note is definitely there, though a bit subtle and sandalwood smells like "Desert Eden", another offering from EL's same line. Le Labo's Ylang 49 also comes to mind. I do not see much similarity between this and Perles de Lalique, which reminded me too much of Salonpas patch(very common product in some Asian countries), literally smelling like strongly mentholated product you apply for muscle pain. Radiant Mirage might appeal to people who like the style of modern chypre and appreciate vintage inspired scents. Being firmly in this camp, I enjoy wearing Radiant Mirage.

Radiant Mirage is an enormously wearable, well-made patchouli scent. Like all fragrances from Estee Lauder’s Luxury Collection, it has a sparkling, effervescent quality, even when composed of normally heavy notes. Fragrantica users suggest a similarity between Radiant Mirage and my all-time favorite designer fragrance, Midnight Poison; I actually agree in a away. Radiant Mirage is absolutely NOT a clone. Rather it is a sheer, day-time version of Midnight Poison. It’s the same hot goth girl, but in her sharp work attire and lighter makeup rather than her leather and bondage club getup.

This is a stunning fragrance, my favourite from this line and I was lucky enough to pick-up a full bottle at The Cosmetics Store for only £40! BARGAIN! People moaning about projection and longevity are far from the mark. I suppose it depends on how much you're spraying. I give this a good burst of 6 sprays (neck, behind ears and on shirt) and it's beast mode. I'm currently sat in my office smelling like heaven! I find this fragrance to be unisex and it gives an air of sophistication and luxury. A real winner by Estee Lauder!

Tried this today. A sensitive family member could smell it on me from another room! I get the comparison to Perles, which I have, but Perles is a little lighter and has more iso, and a sharper edge, I think. RM is 'warmer'. Basically, RM starts off as similar to Perles - the drydown is different. The end of the drydown, what lingers longest, is absolutely delectable, actually! Veering into Estée/Caleche territory. I've also deduced that, like with Aromatics Elixir, 'one tiny spray' is enough.. Nice range, nice bottles.

I LOVE this one. it's giving me fresh classy feminine vibes not in citrus way. Strong Patchouli and Jasmine, intense but airy!! which I really like. I can feel the armpits vibes in it but not in a bad way at all, that's why it so addictive... to me, it feels like pheromone or something, and no I'm not like to smell people's pits, no no 🤣 longevity on me (both skin and Clothes) 7hrs.+ but fading by the time. I wear it almost everyday and I can wear it in the summer without disturbing people around me. mfg: 2023

I really do love this RM. This is a very interesting take on jasmine. It is a patchouli jasmine perfume but there are other facets coming forward to my nose w/ this one. It is almost like a walk in a coniferous forest w/ blooming jasmine all around. There is a natural sensuality to this one, like a forest on a cool evening, at twilight and the stars are illuminating the sky. There is a honeyed earth smell here as well that I am picking up. This is radiant, magical. Full bottle worthy.

This is a strong like for me but for about a hour, there is a scent of cumin or like someone is having a curry by you. I love the patchouli in this and the jasmine is not indolic at all. I won’t be buying it because the cumin note ruins it for me, but the drydown is very nice. I read the notes and several reviews first and I was so exciting to test a patchouli fragrance that would remind me my beloved Perles de Lalique. But skin is both an amazing and a weird thing when it comes to perfumes! No Perles, no Midnight Poison, not even YSL Elle! From the first minute I wore it till now (two hours later) this is Ermenegildo Zegna's Javanese Patchouli in its best edition! I love it but I don't think of purchasing it.

As someone who enjoys Radiant Mirage very much, I can see why this is a fragrance that seems to divide people. It could be Bisch's predilection for aromachemicals... akigalawood seems to be a love or hate thing. This was a surprising love! I tend to shy away from patchouli but I think I have just misunderstood this note especially since it is so prevalent. Anyway, this is a pure, clean patchouli with a hint of sandalwood. The Jasmine didn’t last very long and didn’t stick around at all. But the heart is just gorgeous and I could see myself wearing this. It is uncomplicated and beautiful.

literally in love. I have some samples of Estee lauder perfumes and OH MYYY this is my favourite. I love florals, fresh and musky smells and thought I would prefer the dream dusk one (cherry blossom) but no. this is so overwhelmingly beautiful so luxurious and white floral and musky and string. its so fresh like citrusy but sweet but not sickly I just love it.

A highly sensual, elegant, persuasive fragrance that inebriates the senses, warms the heart, warm spicy, woody and earthy notes that cuddle and envelop, an enveloping fusion of patchouli and sandalwood with a very high erotic content. The ultimate in amber fragrances. Persistent olfactory experience that leaves a reassuring powdery note. I adore.

I love this one from Estée Lauder. It lasts and lasts on me and I always get compliments. I wear on every occasion even casual ones. But it does warrant an evening out. I stumbled on this while at the counter waiting for some makeup. I picked it up and sprayed the card thingy and was shocked! I bought it right then. It’s classy. ❤️❤️❤️

I have to admit, i don't like Lauder, but this Luxury line, is beautifully composed. The bottle and name is very fitting. A bright and spicy white floral note,and a sweet honey dry down.. yes, it is sexy. The honey has this intensely sweet and sultry muskiness to it. in fact... if i blind smelled it, i'd swear it was Jasmine + Oudh

This is a real elite perfume. It is becoming one of my favourites and the best one from this Estee Lauder line. Elegant simplicity, very formal scent and amazing performance during the day.

Did anyone get ylang ylang from the scent? I get ylang ylang, jasmind and patchouli. A wonderful blend. Nothing is too strong. Earthy but still light and elegant.

So many distinct phases that a quick 00 size-up would equate to haste. Essentially a great jasmine patchouli with a camphoric, scandinavian sauna wood opening.

Dont let the notes fool you, this is fresh, liquidy resin straight from the tree. A beautiful witch scent, green, hazy and crisp.

That is a scent Galadriel would wear. Its very clean, reminds of sweet summer walk in the woods

Simplistic but elegant. A sharp sandalwood and patchouli bomb really, with a tiny hint of Jasmine to give it a tiny tiny edge of sweetness to round off the sharpness. As it is a bomb it is a mistake to dig your nose into it immediately as it will just numb your experience and the initial minutes can also feel a bit overwhelmingly sharp to me as the sandalwood initially feels a little bit too much like pencil shavings... But when it begins to settle that is where you will experience the elegant blend of these three or should I say two and a half components. As then the patchouli begins to blossom and show off its cool elegance and also smooths out the sandalwood a bit. This is beautiful on its own on warm days and evenings when you are not into the beachy sunmilk kind of vibe but want something more sophisticated and classic. It’s more that to me than something whimsical or fairytale surreal like that it is sometimes described as. Beautiful on its own, but also a fantastic fragrance to mix other things with that lack a bit of bottom. Like citrus colognes or something vanilla that needs a bit of earthy ness. Pretty good longevity and excellent sillage. Stays on my skin at least 8-10 hours. And you do not need a lot of sprays. Perfectly unisex also. My only wish is that the sandalwood note could have been ever so slightly softer or more smooth. But at the same time the sharpness gives the composition a bit more character so it’s more a matter or personal preference. This Estée Lauder series is incredibly underrated if you ask me. This, and Infinite Sky and Tender Light are all little gems! ❣️

Radiant Mirage is up there with Tender Light as a favorite from the Mini Wonders discovery set. I agree about the "clean patchouli." In fact, I thought I smelled cedar, but it must have been the "clean patchouli" combined with sandalwood, or else there are notes in Radiant Mirage that EL didn't bother enumerating. Every so often I ask myself if I actually don't like patchouli all that much, and then a perfume like this one proves me wrong. I guess I like it just fine if it's well blended, and composed of high-quality ingredients. This reminds me a tiny bit of Perles de Lalique, a Nathalie Lorson woody-peppered-rose frag that I love but concede might be a bit polarizing, or perhaps just de trop more generally--but as with so many "luxury" Lauder offerings of late, Radiant Mirage (with its cringily moronic stoner name) is tasteful to a fault. Personally, I'd rather wear Perles de Lalique, but if someone gave me a bottle of this, I would certainly wear this one as well. The patchouli is so sanitized that it gleams mintily; in the aforementioned Lorson creation, it smells wilder, earthier, darker, more aromatic.

I recived my 8 MINI WONDERS today: I have a lot of patchouli-perfumes, this is also very nice! It smells of very fresh cut patchouli, I think it's because of the flowers, the first spray is so lovely, but than it comes down to just a very nice patcholi, patcholi never never let you down, either you hate the notes or love it, buying this perfume is as another "must love cats" or "must love dogs", or "icecream", I would have bought a bottle of this nice perfume if it wasn't because of I'v already have a lot of similar cozy perfumes :))

A crisp, floral patchouli. I don't get the jasmine here - the patchouli is very dominant on my skin, with a slight woodiness and "crispness"/menthol-like vibe from the sandalwood. If you like patchouli, give this a shot - it's a very clean, crisp patchouli, very put-together and very unisex. I have Gris Dior as well, but Gris Dior is stronger in the rose with the patchouli in the base whereas this is the reverse with the strength of the patchouli. Scent: 8/10 Projection: Moderate Longevity: Average to good Polarity: Unisex

This is too spicy for my taste... Bought it for myself and ended up gifting it to my mother. Pros: - Great and unique scent - Performs quite well - Niche level perfumery - The bottle looks so cool + magnetic cap Cons: - Definitely not unisex - Spices are overpowering the overall scent profile - Really mature smelling, this fragrance is not for young people - Could've had a much better box

Beautiful, really. This is a sophisticated perfection, but maybe for a mature lady? I WISH this would be a little younger, less sharp. (If you know, please pm!) Maybe I will buy it. It's truly magical, natural and fresh with a twist. It lasts on skin, after a few hours still flowery something there. I didn't realize how and when I fell in love with this scent..!

This a dry patchouli in the style of Perles de Lalique. It projects well and is classy and sophisticated. If I smell it close up, however, there's a veeeerrrrry slight resemblance to moth balls, which is slightly offputting but doesn't kill it completely. Since I already have Perles de Lalique and like it slightly better, I'll pass on this one.

I love it on test strip, but on my skin, all I get is pink pepper. I don't get as much jasmine as I'd like, and it reminds me of many other pink pepper/patchouli fragrances I have smelt, so I can easily skip this. Still, a solid pick if it works on your skin. Sadly, on mine it doesn't fare well.

The frost patchouli providing a crisp, almost icy freshness with the warm, earthy undertones of sandalwood. It is a versatile scent, suitable for various occasions and seasons.

Loving it, but not buying it again. Suitable for the hot weather we have in the south Texas. A little bit on the feminine side, but it changes well due to my pheromones.

This is exactly similar to Gris Dior at the dry down.

I can detect the floral and spicy patchouli notes when this is first sprayed, but as it dries down there are some truly odd aspects to the scent that also come forward. I'm not a huge jasmine fan, but this isn't the typical perfumey jasmine that is not my jam. After dry down, it is significantly earthy, and the warm spicy accords turn more fresh spicy on me. As usual for fragrances with a subtle sandalwood note, it is completely lost on me and adds zero interest to the overall scent. I would characterize this as a fairly "clean" floral patchouli, as the earthiness isn't dirty, but more "fresh soil after the rain." Unfortunately, after a while, its more unique qualities fade and one is left with patchouli, and only patchouli. While it's a nice, earthy but not dirty, balanced patchouli, there are no other notes discernable to my nose. For that reason, it's a no for me. However, patchouli lovers might truly enjoy this as it is a slightly different take on that note than normal.

This is a bit of a departure from what you expect of Estée Lauder. It opens earthy, natural and woody conjuring fresh, damp woods and forests. I think there's more here than the note list is letting on. Alongside the super-transparent patchouli and a tiny green jasmine I want to include a greener wood — something like juniper — and maybe galbanum or possibly moss? I love this part of the progression and it would be a solid buy if it was sustained but the clue is in the name and it is indeed a mirage. 40 minutes after the opening Radiant Mirage loses its greeness and develops in a more familiar direction: a transparent, shimmering, pleasant but generic patchouli skin scent.

Sampling this one, I get cedar and faint pink roses or peony. Then I looked up notes, I don't get jasmine or patchouli. I'm also getting something synthetic scratchy in the background that I got from Valaya and Delina, not sure what it is, something Bisch likes to use in his formulas? Due to that this is a no for me.

Makes me feel like I smell like someone who is 'lucky'- the smell is a fresh breeze, an ironed shirt, hair tucked behind the ears, elegant cool nights in turning seasons. I am totally enamored with this scent, and some days I wear it because it's who I want to be. The notes blend together perfectly, and create one beautiful wave. Very put together, best foot forward scent. Love.

Oof, this was a hate-at-first sniff. Then it grew on me ever so slightly to an affectionate dislike. It does smell like paint, with a little floral and fizziness. I can never tell if I’m going to like a patchouli scent or not, but in this case it wasn’t meant to be. It doesn’t smell bad, but it just isn’t something I want to wear.

Solar notes, sandalwood, and something that approximates ambergris. No patchouli in sight...wait, I mean there is patchouli in sight but it's actually a mirage. It's not there. See what I did there? I'll see myself out... This is like the Gen-Y redux of Dune: baked earth, bleached deadwood, and ghostly resins.

Cosmetic patchouli with average performance. It comes across as sour, which is a bit of a mystery. Patchouli for me is Villoresi’s interpretation, so Radiant Mirage is a juvenile approach and a stale one at that.

Maybe too peppery and slightly bitter. I don't smell any jasmine; in fact, there is a sharp peppery scent, like maybe Szechuan pepper. I can't get over that sharp scent.
