Experimentum Crucis

Zoologist paid the dowry for their daughter Moth’s betrothal to Francis Kurkdjian’s Absolue Pour Le Soir. Turns out, for a forced marriage, they actually hit it off quite well - very well actually. Skanky and nasty bedroom activity has lead to the birth of a child they will call Experimentum Crucis, and the midwife is none other than... Quentin Bisch...? The King of the land of Suffocating Akigalawood has donned a nurse’s frock and brought into this world a bizarre looking love child. This child would find inspiration with Isaac Newton, thinking “what would the world be like now if a rose fell onto Isaac instead of an apple?” It’s always an impossible question, “what would happen, if, instead, this?” This is starting to shape-out to be a tale fit for a Wes Anderson film. I’m late to the party. I missed when this baby was squelched into a plastic pool in Francis’s and Zoologist’s living room, and I missed a few birthdays, but I finally get to meet this kid and there is a hint of genius hiding in that weird little head of theirs. Sometimes genius is the product of something absurdly simple that many/most of us simply miss - for example, there is a reason an apple falls and doesn’t float. Why? No one really seemed to ask, or at least passionately care to truly devote themselves to finding the why and publicizing it until Newton did. Nurse Bisch’s moment of absurdly simple genius comes in the form of an absurdly simple damascone and ambroxan+akigalawood formula (the latter he would end up repeatedly molesting in future compositions). There is not much new here; fruity and woody rose damascones over synthetic dark woods and animalic musky ambroxan. It’s the cumin and honey that turn the simple moment of an apple plonking someone on the head into the spark of genius. The cumin is properly funky/skanky woody, and the smell of salty and sweaty body odor, but without the thickness or the sharpness that often makes it painful or lumpen in many other perfumes. The honey is likewise. Floral, tastefully sweet, waxy and sticky, but its texture does not feel like it is dragging itself across your nostrils on its way to your palate. I find this texture to be the best and most commendable characteristic of this Bisch composition, since it is so rare for his compositions to have it. Experimentum Crucis feels like it is levitating, not launching; intermingling with the air and the other molecules around it, not blasting them away with aggressive and toxic force; calmly pondering a deep question, not roaring away in your ear. Cons? Does this bizarre love child have any behavioral issues? Eh, I wish its attention span were longer, but it is part of the Gen Z/Gen Alpha transition trained so well to keep scrolling away on their preferred social media platform(s), so I guess I shouldn’t expect much; its notes and layer transitions happening quite quickly and with maybe not much attention to timing. Unlike Absolue or Moth, this doesn’t want to stick around long. This could also be a new formulation difference, but I didn’t smell this upon its initial release so I cannot tell you one way or another. It should, and it could, last longer. We know that Bisch is perfectly capable of making a perfume last forever (though I wish in most instances he didn’t). But that’s a minor issue to what is otherwise a very interesting, bizarre, yet simple perfume that also simply smells great. Let’s see if this kid cures cancer, or finds the solution to the expansion of the universe - or maybe they just become Hitler 2.0. Bisch knows how to deliver that baby as well. But with Experimentum Crucis, I am optimistic.

Experimentum Crucis is the yin to Hermann à mes Côtés' yang - both are bold, creative takes on rose by Quentin Bisch for ELDO. The brief for this scent is typically obscure, as befits ELDO; an "experiment" of sorts: what if a rose fell on Isaac Newton's head instead of the fabled apple? EC is darker, more woody than amber-y, with a jammy rose in the place of Hermann's dewy rose. Hermann features a prominent incense note alongside the rose, while EC is more of a chypre. Both are great rose scents, done in Quentin Bisch's trademark bold, theatrical style featuring a range of contrasting but well-balanced notes. It reminds me somewhat of Frédéric Malle Portrait of a Lady - both are rich, dark roses, laced with patchouli and spices on an amber base - but the cumin and fruits here make this less traditional, more challenging and perhaps more masculine. EC is richly spicy from initial spray, with a prominent cumin note. I like cumin as a spicy note - it is a challenging, multifaceted note, and here it is handled expertly by M. Bisch. The rose emerges early on, dark and rich, melding beautifully with the cumin. Alongside the rich spiced rose, there is a light, fruity accord, led by a thematically-appropriate apple note that, while brief, adds dewy freshness to the opening, complementing it beautifully. As it develops, the woody-amber base slowly emerges, rounding out the spicy-rose accord to perfection. Patchouli follows, the perfect accompaniment to the increasingly jammy rose, adding a hint of dirt. The sweet, clean jasmine is evident after a little while, rounding out the floral heart. Honey enhances the sweetness here, a seamless segue from the fruits of the opening to the amber base. The drydown is musky and woody, with honey keeping things relatively sweet. The florals remain, and are at their most powdery here. The woody-amber accord is pleasant, but quite synthetic - though thankfully it is never harsh. It is musky and somewhat dirty in a dusty manner during the drydown phase - dry and spicy. The woody notes and patchouli are very prominent to my nose here, forming a modern chypre base - the perfect finale to this scent. It fades to a musky skin scent, dark and earthy until final fade. Sillage is strong and longevity is long-lasting. It is a unisex autumn/winter scent. A creative take on a classic accord, EC makes good use of well-placed synthetic materials and features an unusual combination of notes. I loved this - another great scent from ELDO (and, of course, M. Bisch). 4.5/5.

when i first began exploring the world of perfume, my friend and i bought a swatch of samples off luckyscent, one of which was secretions magnifiques (which i have been putting off reviewing for ages) - suffice it to say, i LOVED it - it was the first time i was confronted with the possibilities for what a perfume could convey. and it wasn't just the scent, but the description, the concept, the marketing - they were all intriguing. so, my first concerted purchase of samples was from etat libre d'orange, including this fragrance. i have refused to choose a signature - after all, my tastes and expressions and even my very identity shifts as i grow older, as the world shifts around me, as i lose and gain lovers and loved ones, friendships and contentions. yet, if i had to choose a scent representative of some core of myself (which i don't know whether or not exists to begin with), i would be forced to choose experimentum crucis. the note of cumin, as people have already stated, gives a beautiful whiff of body odor, but its not stale - the scent of someone having gotten out of a shower, forgetting to put on deodorant, and going on a nice, long walk through cool morning air. mixed with the sharpness of the patchouli, there is something almost confrontational, Look, Here is the Body, Here is its Imprint in the sensory world. the scent is floral without becoming saccharine, ecstatic without becoming sentimental. after hours of wear, when the knife-edge becomes dulled, a kernel of warmth like a small sun radiates gently, surprisingly soft and tender, like the snapping of young green branches under your feet. i am realizing that, to get into why i connect with this perfume, i may reveal too much, only: if you are an androgynous animal (beauty?) with slight religious psychosis and an endless well of painful love in your heart, this may be the perfume for you!

The One That Shouted My Name. Experimentum Crucis by Etat Libre d’Orange This took me completely by surprise. The name comes from the term used in scientific circles, and famously by Isaac Newton. In science, an experimentum crucis (English: crucial experiment or critical experiment) is “an experiment capable of decisively determining whether or not a particular hypothesis or theory is superior to all other hypotheses or theories whose acceptance is currently widespread in the scientific community.” (Wikipedia) This is what this perfume does for the status of the rose in modern perfumery. Too many rose scents are banal, insipid, cheap and cloying. So much so, that for many people who love perfume, mentions of rose notes make us apprehensive. How can this be, when the rose has captured the imaginations and hearts of humans for millennia? In Experimentum Crucis is the depth and mystery, the aura and the setting, while also acknowledging the thorns. This is the rose. This is the perfume that proves that humanity has not lost its ability to appreciate the depth of this glorious flower.

I have had MANY MANY people ask me what I am wearing. I have friends give me extra hugs because they loved the way it smelled and randome strangers walk down the street to ask me what I wearing. Body chemistry plays a huge part, but on me this smells like ambery spicy sweet roses. This is perfect for my body chemistry. This is my most complimented perfume. How did I find it? Someone was wearing it next to me standing outside waiting for my car at the valet on a cold winter night. I asked her what she was wearing because it smelled so good. I thought she was joking when she told me. Love it. My favorit kind of old lady perfume. For reference I hate "clean" scents and I love heavy naturalistic florals. I have over 100 roses in my garden and roses from the grocery store smell like cut stems. They do not smell like true scented roses.

and thus concludes my search for a new rose scent! Having sampled, POAL, Eau Capitale and purchased Acrasia from Beaufort, this is the rose scent i have been looking for. It strikes the perfect balance between fruity and spicy elements and the rose to me has a cool quality which contrasts with the aforementioned spice beautifully. I sampled this in ELDO's own set and this was my standout, extremely unisex and it fits the brief of what it wants to achieve perfectly. Longevity is a joke, i really havent experienced a 'floral' scent that performs in this way, 10 hours post-application and this still pushes out with every movement. Suitable for all seasons but i would imagine its persistence could be quite aggravating in the high heat.

I received a sample of this perfume in ELDO's discovery kit a few months ago. My initial impression, during cold weather, was not favorable—the scent felt too sharp, metallic, and lacked depth. However, I sampled it again today now during summer, and it was a completely different experience! The rose note was prominent initially, but soon the cumin and patchouli really came to the forefront, creating a harmonious blend. Some in the comments have described it as "grandmotherly". To me, it evokes a 19th century gothic aristocrat, or perhaps a vampire. It's sensual, but subtly. For comparison with other ELDO fragrances, I’d call this the more masculine sibling of Eau de Protection.

One of the last of my discovery set. I rather like this. Well blended. Lovely wet rose. I'm really enjoying the akigalawood and patchouli. The cumin is a background player. My skin plays very well with this. It's a shame other people only get BO. It doesn't smell like that to me. Just smells like mature rose and earth. This has a refreshing element to it like their Hermann à mes Côtés me Paraissait une Ombre. Definitely in my top 5 for this brand. If you just don't like cumin, maybe avoid perfumes with cumin in the notes. Update: My husband asked what I was wearing last night and that he really liked it. He said it's like pulling a rose bush from the dirt.

This perfume has a potential to be polarising. At close proximity and on my skin it smells very distinctly like gasoline and car tire rubber which at first I found off-putting. What saves Experimentum Crucis is a gorgeous rose sillage which I could smell all around me even though I applied it only on my wrists. So beautiful and sophisticated! Like a single pretty rose suddenly growing in the middle of an abandoned car graveyard. Elegant and female. This is definitely a very unique, very specific and niche smell and it won't work for everyone. Its name and description are truly fitting.

Yesterday, I received a sample of this fragrance through a swap with a perfume blogger. I'm wearing it to the office today, and surprisingly, I've received my first compliments on my perfume. It blends classic rose and oud with youthful, fresh, and flirtatious fruits. While I adore other spicy rose scents like La Fille de Berlin, Rose de Petra, and Noir de Noir, this one exudes more warmth. It’s just like a fluffy blanket Update: people who said it is polarizing perfume were right. My husband hates it and compares this to new jeans smell.

on opening my first impression was a modern Amouage Gold, but it changes so quickly to something that I knew and recognised and loved but couldn't place.. and then after some time I clicked: it's that unique peppery accord from Chloe. Which is interesting because Bischehas worked on a bunch of stuff from Chloe but not the original. Idk call me crazy but I had an ex who wore Chloe and I know the smell well. Its just a bit dirtier and more masculine and with the classic Bisch clarity

I bought this perfume in blind buy, being a rose lover and considering it one of the "unmissable". Well, initially I regretted having done it, I turned up my nose feeling the opening of cumin (which is still a very particular note). I didn't give up, and after 2/3 days of wearing it the spark was triggered. Now I can't do without it... it's a fresh, young, slightly acidic rose that I really like. I get tons of compliments every time I wear it. Fantastic trail and persistence.

EXPERIMENTUM CRUCIS - Suspended between earth and sky, this rose stands anchored to the tangible scent of woods and patchouli, whipped by the airy top notes of cumin and apple that persist beyond the norm. The overall mood is detached yet vibrant, an energy harnessed within a form that gives it purpose, disciplined but not conforming, powerful yet not aggressive, somehow the wiser older sister of Eau de Protection...

Experimentum Crucis has an aroma that reminds me of an unwell elderly person nearing the end of their days, and it exudes darkness, though not in a captivating or alluring manner. The overwhelming prevalence of this fragrance among my male colleagues at work has made it increasingly difficult to endure, and I've developed a strong aversion to it. I must admit that I find it even less appealing than Secretions Magnifiques, which is quite a statement.

A really beautiful interpretation of roses, if I were to make a rose perfume myself, I would definitely do it something like this. The use of dirty rose is somewhat reminiscent of POAL, but it is not old-fashioned like POAL, it is very modern and also has a beautiful patchouli and rose combo like lumiere ph. The dirtiness from cumin is just right. Performance is also great. Quentin fascinated me again, as he always does 🧿

For some reason I'm infatuated with this scent. I don't sense cumin or apple. I don't sense litchi. All I can think of when I wear it , is walking around cold and empty cathedral. The smell of incense is intense and I can hear some monks chanting in the distance. I's like a cold, spring day, the sun is shining but you can feel that winter is not yet gone. I'm wearing a cashmere coat and feel sophisticated and elegant.

This is a delightful fresh, spicy rose with sweet lychee and apple that's just about to turn. The cumin is more apparent if I bring my skin up to my nose but is lost in sweetness further away. This scent made me realise that cumin doesn't really fall cleanly into sweaty or spicy for me. It's a hint of sweat on warm skin, and I love for a perfume to blur the boundary between itself and my own body.

One of my favorites. Very unique fragrance Every time i wear this fragrance i got surprised by the longevity and the sillage on my clothes , even when i take them off , and hang them in the closet i still smell it for days every time i walk in the room. Literally its a beast and definitely will re-buy

Completely unisex perfume. Nice lychee burst, followed by rose for 10 minutes, and then really nice wet woods for the rest of the drydown. 6-8 hours total? Turns floral on female skin. Turns woody on my skin and the rose dies quickly. Really nice date night perfume.

Not a bad choice to be honest, I wound rate it as a Wow, but it has its own identity. it does smell different on the skin, but has a lovely projection and strength on fabric or air. it will work well in cold weather, and for smokers indeed. Overall 7/10

intensely cumin for quite a while. i wish there was more apple and lychee at the top since the cumin drowns out so much. it is rosey but definitely not a floral perfume as a whole. i really love the emphasis on skin and the patchouli heavy bottom

A sweet, strong scent. It opens with a sweet, dominant rose that remains present throughout. Supported by sweet accords, it is pleasantly enveloping yet quite heavy. Then it softens as warm, refined woody notes come to the forefront.

One of my favourite fragrances and tends to get me a lot of compliments. People have stopped and asked me what fragrance I’m wearing. Perfect mixture of Apple lychee jasmine and Akigalawood. Soo good I had to buy a backup bottle.

Ah I love this one. I have an older bottle and don’t get any cumin or BO. Just rose and some fruit, it’s very interesting. Maybe they changed it in the newer formulas , I don’t know. Im just glad I have my bottle.

This smells like Cruella DeVille's fur coat. Feminine, angry, established, old-money, powerful. A particular someone could pull off this scent, but its a bit on the weird side. It's Floral-Fruity, Woody, funky.

Love it! It’s very spicy and an urban vibe. For me it smells like gasoline and some hot asphalt mixed with pepper, but in a nice way. It’s super radiant too.

I love this one, very similar to Atelier Cologne Rose Anonyme, rose the key element but of course such refined rose, elegant not overpowering. Love it!

A beautiful, dark, well-blended rose with fruits and wood Personal: 7/10 – A fruity-floral-woody mix that covers up the rose pretty well. As such, I enjoy it, though I wouldn't really wear it. Mass appeal: 7.5/10 – Apple and rose are easy enough to enjoy, but the musk/patchouli drydown might be divisive. Performance: 7.5/10 – Good longevity and projection for a fragrance in this style. Value: 6/10 – ELDO pricing is fine for something that's blended so well, despite not being my style. If it's your style, it's well done at least. Uniqueness: 6.5/10 – The apple-rose opening is nice, but not groundbreaking. The drydown leans fairly familiar for woody-rose fragrances. SCORE: 69/100 Full bottle buy? NO, pleasant enough, but not interesting enough to own. Blind buy? NO, too polarizing with the rose-patchouli base. Sample first. Recommend? YES, if you like fruity-rose fragrances with some musk and patchouli depth. Date night? YES, works fine as a slightly dressier fruity floral, though not overtly seductive. Office safe? YES, clean and polished enough if applied lightly. Pros: Polished fruity-rose opening, solid performance, versatile enough. Cons: Generic drydown, doesn’t feel niche, not worth the price unless you really love darker rose fragrances. And patchouli. Experimentum Crucis is, honestly, somewhat generic. The blending is superb, and everything feels balanced with no single note being dramatically louder than the others. That said, I still can't get past the rose DNA that I just don't enjoy. This doesn't have enough other stuff going on to dampen the rose to the point where I find it tolerable, but I do have to admire how well put together this fragrance is. It's a truly well refined, grown-up, classy, darker rose fragrance that's still wearable. Not for me, but it's very mature and classy, and definitely up the alley of many of you out there who love darker rose fragrances. Got my hands on the sample kit with 20 small vials of ELDO's fragrances to try with my girlfriend. This is our tenth scent we tried out - finally halfway through! This one opens with a beautiful, fully blossomed rose. I feel like I can smell the STEM of the rose here. There's also a pleasant, delicate fruity note sitting quietly next to that rose. It's a bit both of that apple and lychee. I didn't really get much cumin up front, it started to develop more as the scent settled down into the skin. Something to note here is the vastly different experiences shared by other reviewers here - with some getting huge punches of rose, others getting a lot of cumin, etc. The development of the scent, for me, warped from that initial fruity rose into a dirty rose with some musky undertones. There were other players in there including some of the extra floral and sweet notes, but for the most part this one remained rosy, slightly sweetened, and dirty/musky. On my girlfriend's skin, it was much of the same - but sweeter, and with a patchouli underbelly. This scent is definitely a bit of a chameleon it seems. I think this is a really great everyday wearer from ELDO. It lasts, it smells good, all that good stuff. But I do find that the scent does die down a bit in regards to the sillage, and also that despite my preference for a good rose scent, this one is somewhat linear for me. I also find that the price point - despite this fragrance's general longevity on me - is a bit much. Otherwise, this one is absolutely excellent. A very natural, dirty, darker rose and stem. Sophisticated, but still youthful.

You are not the most cheerful person wandering through this antique shop on the market square, but you feel at home here. The owner knows it too, so he lets you stroll quietly among the curiosities, which you see less as mere objects than as existential riddles. Experimentum Crucis is one of those mystical creations so characteristic of the house of État Libre d’Orange, in the same vein as Spice Must Flow, 500 Years, and Rien. There is no incense here. Instead, there is an attic-and-old-book facet that seems to arise from the alliance of cumin, honey, and akigalawood. The result is a woody accord reminiscent of agarwood, with a dark, spicy character. That is the backdrop. But this creation also possesses a delicately luminous facet (rose, apple/lychee, patchouli), and that is the fragrance’s main point of interest. Experimentum Crucis is not as sorrowful as Rien, nor as intimidating as Nostos or 500 Years, even though it is clearly just as opulent and distinguished as they are. It unmistakably smells like an expensive and rare perfume, yet without any coldness or snobbery. So while it is perfect for elevating moments of pure introspection and spirituality, it is equally suited to life's shared moments, surrounded by one's fellow Frères Humains. For this reason, Experimentum Crucis particularly brings to mind Albert Cohen’s books: gregarious and generous, even in the dark.

I recently got the 20 sample pack from ELDO and I wasn't planning on reviewing any of them until after trying all of them in order to give myself a good basis to go off of, but I just had to with this scent. This is one of the first rose heavy scent that I believe works for ANYONE. I absolutely love this scent from first spritz to the dry down. It starts off with this crazy apple, rose and musk; but it's kept grounded and unisex with the patchouli and woods. This smells like exactly like the apple orchard (which was right next to a park that we would also frequent later in the warmer months) that my parents took me to a few times when I was a kid. The apple is a very similar apple to "Slow Explosions" by Imaginary Authors, but a little less sweet. Then as this starts to dry down the darker notes become more prominent into this earthy and floral fragrance. I see a lot of reviews saying it doesn't do anything new, but to me this is a completely new earthy flower garden scent that I 100% think would fit into anyone's spring rotation. I can also see this being someone's go to scent, give this a try.

I should be legally allowed to fight one person a year who uses "grandma" as a negative scent description... Experimentum Crucis is one of the more interesting ELDOs I've smelled in their discovery set. I contest describing this rose as "jammy" due to its litchi pairing - the rose here is dry and preserved, pressed between book pages to keep around forever. The wood, patchouli, and especially cumin here mix together to heavily bring forward that sweaty, almost BO pungency (why am I always the freak loving the fact that scents smell like BO). Others describe a metallic feel, but I would argue more of an old leather. EC is a sunken in couch while antique shopping up north, and/or my mom being mad that I brought home rose incense from the head shop in high school. Very much giving Bisch, but as someone who isn't a Delina fan, EC helps me understand the parts of the rose so many others enjoy. I appreciate the vintage yet dark motifs at play - wearing this for one of the first Halloween events of the season.

Sampling Etat Libre d’Orange Experimentum Crucis, a very pleasantly fresh and musky blend, a bit sweet and fruity, with notes of apple, lychee, rose, jasmine, honey, patchouli, and musks per official channels. The opening is both bright and dry, with almost a vaguely herbal/metallic/green side that complements the fruits, florals, and musk, and keeps the sophistication high. Overall, it’s quite agreeable and versatile and feels familiar in a way, even though no specific comparisons come to mind, so in that respect it’s a bit comforting. Concentration is EDP and retail pricing is $250 for 100ml, sold on the house website and Perfumology, among other boutiques. Performance is very good and I think the pricing is reasonable enough for nice quality perfume that is very useful throughout the year. Anyone could wear this anytime and make it work, I think, and I enjoy the bottle design. 7 out of 10

This one definitely goes on a journey for me. It opens with a burst of apple, rose, and lychee; floral sweet. I don't get the cumin at all until I get past the opening. As the cumin starts to come through it toes the line of being overpowering, but doesn't quite get there. I love the added pep for a rose scent. As time goes on the cumin blends nicely with the rose, and there's a bit of sweetness remaining from the top fruit notes though they become less distinct, blending pleasantly with the base wood notes to become something that reminds me of incense. Not a specific incense, but like I'm standing right by the shelf of incense at the novelty craft store. It's interesting how many people seem to either get no cumin or /way too much/ cumin. For me it hits the goldilocks zone where it's enough cumin to add some zip and interest while not being too bitter or stifling.

Some days i love it and others i don’t. It’s a strong cumin rose bomb that fills rooms. Its dark and sweet as a whole but still weirdly versatile enough to wear in most situations, i can see this being more popular with women than men because it smells like popular niche women’s fragrances with an added note of cumin which smells unique. Nonetheless, i don’t see the whole sweat vibe people are getting but thats probably due to skin chemistries. It definitely doesn’t smell modern, and do not expect a rosey oud fragrance like les sables roses which was what i thought i was getting before i got it for dirt cheap, its a chypre. Its interesting to say the least, doesnt really rely on the situation but rather the mood of the person, i cant say its a dumb reach daily scent.

Opens sour sweet and strong, it was a lot at once. I think this was because of the apple note. I usually hate most fruity scents. I didn't love the opening but that goes away pretty quickly and everything after that I really enjoyed. It's rosy in a green garden way, it's rainy and watery and dewy and strongly floral. The floral notes are real like you're actually in a garden with your nose in a wet flower. I love the spicy cumin as well, it really helps balance the florals. I loved this, it was a jammy comforting wet rose. (It was just similar to Agent P for me which I already own a full size of and prefer for it's animalistic and saffron notes). This was also the longest lasting one, I'm still smelling scent trails on my pillow the next day.

Rose, cumin and patchouli, plus a fresh-fruity note, are what I could name in the first blast and the most prominent ones I think. A bold and strong scent. Even though I've gotten a bit tired of this axis (power-patchouli), this scent is one of the good examples, I can't be unfair to it. It has an attractive and slightly dirty side and it's a chypre; one of the modern ones. Without knowing who the perfumer was, I'd thought to myself "this is the kind Bisch would make" and that's exactly how it turned out, haha :) The sweetness is just right. Oh well, this one is pretty interesting. At first, I was very turned off by the cumin note, and it does reek of cumin in the opening: I don't typically have heavy bo, but that first spray was pure bo+rose. The sillage is much lighter on the bo-like cumin however. And as time went on, this perfume turned into a beauriful sweet honeyed rose, and whatever dirty animalic edge that's left of the cumin likely helps make the honey note more realistic, since honey does very much have a animalic side. The rose isn't super heavy. Good sillage, long-lasting. I have a feeling that the cumin is only strong in the opening, close-up, and under higher temperatures. Without the bo feel of cumin this is a very nice fragrance.

Longevity and sillage Legendary, it can last for more than 12 hours on the skin and on clothes for several days. Very suitable for cold, spring and moderate climates, but the best performance will be in the spring, without a doubt. I’m a male but I love this fragrance and I can say it frankly that it is an extremely feminine perfume.

Idk how many times must I say it, Quentin bisch and his crippling addiction to akigalawood note will be the death of his fans. Anyways, back to the rose akigalawood BOMB, that he & ELDO decided to scheme and drop had my entire room reeking of this damn monotonous note from my sample tester for 10 hours (i only used one spray btw). The comparison between this and JHAG lady vengeance (which i own) is understandable but quite the misunderstanding. They share the same note, but lady vengeance is just better, smoother, stronger, and slightly soapy rose, iso-e-super and ambroxan. Nonetheless this is not a bad take on lady vengeance.

Nose Note #310 Very strong rose dominant perfume. Quentin Bisch is a master of overkill. This one is super strong, but at the same time has this airy and sparkly feeling, nice floral background - the jasmine is definately there. The rose is a little bit spiced up and a little powdered. Feminine leaning. It's very solid, nicely done, smells very natural, but just remember that it's Quentin Bisch. It has this niche touch. This one is definately not for everybody. It was the first time my wife asked me to wash a fragrance off. She disliked that much. Said it smells like bug spray.

Split second rose water opening, and then it immediately starts duking it out with the cumin which happens to be WWE jacked. You can smell the other notes under there, but for a while it's mostly cumin. Which is deeply annoying because I like what's going on as it struggles to overpower the cumin. I do like how it mellows, powdery and honeyed, the lychee coming nicely to the fore, but yeah someone at ELDO needs to lower the throttle on the cumin. I want to love this but it turned into a mostly like....

varnished to death dark wood and patchouli bomb with prominent rose, sour fruits, prickly spice, pepper, I find lavender somewhere in there opposing all of this with equal force, like someone throwing their armpit in your face, is the cumin: it wafts out like it has something to prove! it's funky asf (but I like it) very powerful and long-lasting (10+ hours), goes really hard on a cold night a situational one for sure, not for casual affairs, I wore it to my graduation (one spray on top of Hermann)
