Aigner Black

Thank you so much asilverfire614 for the sample! To be honest, I wasn't expecting too much from Black, but the combination of bergamot and leather in a women's bottle, and from a quality fashion house gave me enough intrigue to put this on my want list. Masculine? Most definitely in the traditional sense, but now so many more women are enjoying louder bergamots at levels typically found in a man's fragrance. Mandarine gives a softer, less acidic orange scent and yuzu, a dry almost bittersweet floral tang. And bergamot... oh... I love its bright sunny allure in almost anything! Vanilla and sandalwood warm this up perfectly and are soft but prominent in the citrus drydown. Smells almost like lemon butter smeared all over leather seats in a brand new car on a hot day. Refined excitement for me. More energetic and a lot simpler than Shalimar, and no rubber note from Bvlgari's version. I think I've found at least one of my soul mates. Auch!, esta que arde!!, caliente caliente!, sex bomb!, super sexy!!, genial para mi que me gustan los perfumes fuertes y glamourosos. Es verdad que huele un poco masculino, pero me encanta!, huele y me hace imaginar como a un vestido entallado de piel en una figura perfecta(la cual me encantaria tener! ja,ja,ja). Dura horas!!, es un perfume suy sincero, asi como cuando lo acabas de aplicar en la piel huele como cuando se sella, hermoso!. No es para chicas "cute", no para amantes de las "florecitas" inocentes...esto es veneno puro!, fuerte y decidido. Me recuerda mucho a Narciso Rodriguez EDT mezclado con JPG Male, ambos funcionan como feromonas!. Referencia: adoro Dior hypnotic poison,Guerlain Samsara y YSL Opium.

Checked with the company and listing here is missing one note - and let me tell you: the most important note: LEATHER! The opening is a bit citrussy and woodsy, the drydown comes quite soon here and it is... Heaven! There are no other words than this. Real leather softened by delicate vanilla with just right amount of sweetness. Everything accompanied by sandalwood. It's soft, clean, sensual as hell. Feels like wearing your own skin, only better smelling. Fall to spring suitable. Must have for leather lovers. Such a shame this was discontinued. I would love to treat myself with a bottle or six. A brilliant piece of art. To me 9/10.

It's very herbal upon first application... giving the impression that it could be a man's cologne. Then the vanilla kicks in and mixes with the woody, tea-like vibe it had from the start and becomes fresh. It sweetens up to a lovely, semi-spicy vanilla leather. Gorgeous! I really enjoy it, it works well on me, and all the while confuses me. Although it is made for a woman, it blurs the line between conventional male/female fragrances. A bold choice for a unique woman who marches to the beat of her own drum. It's very interesting, beautiful, mysterious, and for that reason should be experienced.

oh wow!!! this smells AMAZING on me!!! I just love wearing it, def not a usual fragrance, not for me at least!!! I wear it in summer, light application, i get lots of compliments, although i can see how it is not just for every woman. It is not usual fruity flowery fragrance, it is a bit on a darker side ))) reminds me is Kenzo peace vintage unisex edition...but they are not the same :)))

I wish they would bring this ethereal vanilla & leather beauty back!!! Also, this one takes time to fully develop and bloom on the skin, but when it does... 😍

I smell leather/rubber and powder, quite similar to Versace Blue jeans in scent style, not just for women, maybe unisex, I think this scent is not masculine and not like the other boring and fruity/sweet women's fragrance:) update: I feel a lack of sillage, smells near at the neck and there's no citrus in fresh way, it's too much in hot weather...

This is a nice leathery scent. It is heavy and I sometimes feel when I wear it that I am wearing a man's cologne rather than a woman's perfume. A great cold weather scent and best used with light application.

Black smells like Sun by Jil Sander, but without the weird synthetic quality-it's bursting with oranges-I've rarely smelled such a strong orange scent. I don't get any leather, but the opening is fresh, definitely from a bit of lovely bitter bergamot. Black is very simple, but nice-it dries down from a fresh clearness to oranges to a subtle sweet citrus musk-with apparent vanilla. I want to try every fragrance by Etienne Aigner now!

I feel leather, but after that vanilla ruins all the composition for me. Too masculine for me. Plus, it doesn't last on my skin.

To me this smells an awful lot like Obsession Night! Not too much difference in the first spray. I have no idea what the dry down smells like because I was so disappointed in the smell that I put it in my bathroom closet and there it sits. Its not a terrible scent but alot like something else so the excitement wore off quickly with this one.

Yes like everyone else I would say it's smells unique strong sexy dark, unisex perfume. I like the spicy balsamic character.. It's very different from my usual floral,spicy Collection, people who like strong perfume must try. Very gud longevity n sillage..even though it might not b ur signature perfume, bt getting compliments is assured..

a perfect warm scent for windy autumn and frosty winter. strong, outstanding, dark, the bottle just strengthens the impression. to my nose, it's unisex, as well as Blak for men :)

No doubt it's unisex, or even masculine, but it's a very nice and unique smell. I tried it on myself but it wasn't as good on me as on my husband.

This is such a special scent - I couldn't smell any of the mentioned notes - on me it was a nice woody oriental with leather- I love it!

It is good, I like it a lot, but... Each time I tried to wear it it gave me a HUGE migraine. Sad...

Aigner Black smells like the inner side of the new leather belt. Nice fragrance!
