Aigner pour Homme

I first wore this fragrance in Malaysia, where I bought it from an Aigner boutique back in 2002. I was only fourteen then, and I fell so deeply in love with it that I spent most of my travel money to buy not one, but two full-sized bottles. That alone should tell you how powerful the connection was. Some people like to compare Aigner Pour Homme to Chanel Allure, and I can understand why the comparison comes up. They do share a similar late-90s, early-2000s masculinity and polish. But scent-wise, they are not the same experience at all. Aigner Pour Homme is drier, more woody, and wrapped in a bright citrus opening that eventually sinks into a subtle leathery backbone. Chanel Allure, by contrast, feels smoother and slightly sweeter, more rounded and more playful. Aigner Pour Homme carries a more serious, confident tone. It feels tailored rather than cozy, sunlit rather than creamy. If they share anything, it’s a spirit, not a scent. And for me, the Aigner has always felt more mature, more grounded, and more emotionally charged because it’s tied to a very specific time in my life.

I just bought Aigner Pour Homme and surpisingly to my nose, it has a bit similarity to CHANEL Allure Homme, which I have. The difference: CAH smells heavier and more complex, while APH is somehow like a lighter / citrucy version of it. Aigner Pour Homme was released in 2000, Chanel Allure Homme was released in 1999, so both have this late 90s / early 2000s nuance. To me, Aigner Pour Homme is more wearable for daily, while Chanel Allure Homme suits better in the evening. Both are colored gold-ish, hence I’d say they are both “forgotten” masterpieces of late 90s / early 2000s. And both are still great to wear until now January 2024. Comparison to its more popular brother Blue Emotion: Pour Homme is more mature and professional yet still got that “laid-back” personality. Blue Emotion is obviously more casual but still charming.

To sum it up with one word - Elegance ! So unique , sophisticated, eloquent , manly , very up to date, bold but softly speaking at the same time ... Somehow niche approach for today standards , giving the perfumer. sadly, long time out of stock .

Very nice and fresh citrus and I love that. It smells nice, clean and perfect for any occasion. I could wear it to the office and a night out. It is sexy and masculine.

So I remember sniffing a tester of this when it came out and I was a child. I was utterly fascinated by this scent but being a girl I was not quite sure whether I could wear it myself. So many many years later I finally got a bottle and upon first application got very disappointed. This didn't feel the same as in my memories, much more tart and sharper and not much of the leatheriness remaining. But after giving it some time to sit on the shelf, I managed to recognize the scent I was after. Yes, the opening is still rather sharp citrusy but the dry down is a very pleasant round leather, albeit not leaning to fine tobacco as in my memories.

It is a Nice Scent , Fresh, Spicy, Airy and Woody. I bought it blind-buy after reading the positive comments and watched reviews on YouTube. It opens up with slightly soapy fresh spicy, citrusy and spices notes in the background then dry down is warm spicy and woody. I don't get The Leather note in this perfume. It is perfect for the spring and fall , I really enjoy it and I like Aigner Pour Homme. The Art of bottle design is very wonderful, It is Similar to the Logo of Etienne Aigner. Longevity is Average. Ja, sorry, but on the cheap side!

This perfume is sooo nice, it has that classic fresh masculine smell, but not old, smells so fresh like out of shower with some spices, class! I tested this side by side with the Blue emotion, Aigner pour homme smells better, while the blue emotion smells just like the other blue perfume out there. Scent : 7.5/10 Try / buy / pass : Try

nice scent classic scent + some citrus fresh.

Has a Vera Wang feel to it. Good Fragrance.

the lingering base note does a good job.
