This was love at first sniff. It hit me all at once. Not just a scent, but a rush of memories I couldn’t place. When I first discovered this fragrance at my local store, I was at one of the lowest points of my life. And yet, the moment it touched my skin, it felt familiar. Like something I once had. Or almost had. It smelled like a memory I couldn’t fully grab onto. I sprayed it on my wrist, went home, and started digging through my collection, convinced I’d smelled it before. I lost. I opened fragrantica, scanned my shelf, compared everything. It had hints of something similar to one of my guerlains, but no. That wasn’t it. It took me days to decide. I wasn’t really in a place to buy a new bottle back then. But the scent wouldn’t leave me alone. It lingered in my head, quietly, patiently. And eventually I gave in. I ran back to the store and secured the bottle. The first proper wear unlocked it. I finally understood. It didn’t smell like a specific moment. It smelled like a good memory from the past. The kind you hold onto when life feels like it’s crumbling. The kind that reminds you that happiness once existed, and therefore can exist again. A week later, I received good news. I moved to another city. Healing began, slowly. And now, to me, this fragrance is the smell of happiness. Of safety. Of a new chapter. Bouquet de Joie is sweet but not childish. Floral, but not loud. It blooms softly on the skin, like freshly cut flowers sitting in warm daylight. The opening feels softly sweet with a subtle sourness that keeps it fresh and balanced. I don’t distinctly pick up raspberry or blackcurrant on my skin, but there’s a gentle tart nuance that cuts through the sweetness and prevents it from feeling sugary. As it develops, peony and violet bloom quietly, giving an airy, feminine floral heart with a light powdery softness. This isn’t just a perfume to me. It’s proof that even at your lowest, something beautiful can still find you. Thank you, Lygia, for creating this perfume. A true staple in my collection. Three bottles finished and counting, and no matter how many fragrances I own, this is always my go-to. And when people ask what I’m wearing... I’m still gatekeeping. Sorry, not sorry :)
