Lemon Sorbet

this was my first non-mainstream fragrance...at that time I was totally relieved to find something that wouldn't nauseate me in terms of (beginning of 90ies) heavy florals, shrill and acrid aquatics or numb vanilla. so nice, still, the vetiver in this...- it's not a real citrus scent, nor it is has a sorbet-like quality, it's much more a dry&silvery, spicy citrus-vetiver thing and not much on the juicy side...

“Lemon Sorbet” is the first fragrance I ́ve tried from Etro even though, judging by many of the reviews of the juice, it ́s not been enthusiastically embraced by the perfume community. Now I understand why. “Lemon Sorbet” opens with a fresh burst of citruses (lemon, to be more precise) combined with herbs (petitgrain and rosemary). The herbal notes lend some quirkiness to the composition in the form of a slightly dirty vibe which prevents the scent from being categorised as “yet-another-uninspiring-summery-citrusy” cologne. In the heart, its herbal character is sustained by the appearance of lavender, but the scent gradually loses much of its intensity. The base is a bit of an anticlimax, demonstrating that “Lemon Sorbet”, just like many other citrus-based fragrances, has fallen into the common trap of failing to maintain one ́s interest down to the basenotes. On balance, if I were given a flacon of “Lemon Sorbet” as a gift, I definitely wouldn ́t roll my eyes but would be quite contented to use it till the last drop. However, since such a scenario seems highly unlikely, there are much better citrus scents out there that my nose and heart (but not my wallet, unfortunately) hanker after. Still, I find “Lemon Sorbet” to be an interesting enough introduction into the world of Etro fragrances.

Boom 💥 when I first received this bottle, I like others didn’t like it. Not that it smelled bad per se...but it just smelled like other commenters said...like harsh cleaning supplies. It has been sitting in my drawer for months. On my way to possibly list it for sale I sprayed it again...and yikes it smells so good! I’m not sure if my taste has changed or it has macerated...but now it smells like a creamy, delightful, powdery cold lemon sorbet treat on an unfathomably warm day. It’s a Wes Anderson flick in bright pastels, on an Italian beige Vespa scooter, with a white pleated tennis skirt, yellow v- neck sweater tied around your shoulders, cruising through Rome on a warm day. Perfect for day during warmer seasons- unfortunately it doesn’t last more than a few hours for me. I layer it with Celine Oriental Summer for a different depth.

Among the most direct green tart citrus scents, potent with good projection while also feeling natural and high quality. I disagree with the comparisons to cleaning sprays. People tend to immediately equate the intense acidity and the intense bitterness with the astringency of a detergent mixed with limonene. If you surpass that initial shock of green brightness you actually observe the depth of the citrus oils with the robust green woody herbal facets mixed with some vetiver in the base to create a very pleasant lemon tree experience. Not my favourite of this genre but definitely up there. Good value for money.

This is the lemon sorbet you order at a fancy restaurant—fresh squeezed lemons with a sprig of lavender and rosemary. It’s the opposite of the sugary sweet sorbet you’d buy on sale at the grocery store. Etro’s Lemon Sorbet works because it’s realistic and aromatic, no where near the detergent smell direction that many citrus scents go. If I owned Lemon Sorbet I would spray liberally in the warmer months. Liberally, because this scent is not long lasting. Opening is quite strong but it quickly morphs into a familiar Etro sandalwood base. Perfect unisex scent and a strong like.

No cotrect notes. No correct date of launch. I think this was born around 1992, 1994. Directly from the Notes Book by Etro (officially): lemon bergamot orange petitgrain Paraguay rosewood lavender rosmary thyme crisp mint carnation leaves sandal mysore vetiver incense Yes it is a sweet lemon. Flowery incense tones. Very pleaseant and romantic.

Salty, spicy and aromatic, with a touch of Etro hallmark woody oriental accord in the base. A missing link between YSL pour Homme and Hermes Equipage vintage. I like it.

I can smell in this order: a lemon blast in the opening which only lasts about two minutes, wood, and then something green mixed with wood. Very lovely, very delicate, it lasts about 3 hours and you really have to put your nose where you spritzed it to detect it. The drydown is remarkably woodsy. A kind fragrance. Not worth the price, considering that there are many fragrances out there which have a more persistent lemony woody green halo, but it was nice to try it.

received the sample today, and to be honest, i really want to like this scent, but unfortunately, i can't like it that much. i do get fresh lemon on the opening, but it turns into something flat afterwards. its pretty linear. but for those of you who like "lemon" notes, give it a try. Try before you buy.

Lemon cleaning spray. My least favorite of all Etros I tried.

Lemon Sorbet is an expensive take on sorbets by Etro, or so one may be led to believe! Actually, I give them credit for on the sample card, they have described the main feel of what you get very well, if not to perfection! To quote the text; the 'pungent freshness of citrus fruits and maquis shrubs'. It goes on to say 'thirst-quenching lemon' and 'aroma of bitter oranges'. And that's exactly what you get! Strong and brisk at the start, with a very notable herbal/petit-grain vibe, this is not the tart side of lemon but much greener. Think of Di Parma's Colonia. Rosemary is certainly detectable too, just as in Colonia too. But how does this resemble a sorbet? I surely do not want herbs and bushy shrubs in my lemon dessert! I prefer this to that other Italian offering, but I really was looking for a tart, ambery-lemon, something more smooth and sweeter and less herbal. While it's nice and Ok, I cannot score this very highly at all, it's price is very high for something essentially linear and non-original in this Chypre genre (an understatement) and it's not doing much apart from the predictable! High 2/5. It's better than Colonia for me, but I just cannot justify a bottle of this!

This is soft and quite nice. Starts off with a beautifull bunch of citruses.juicy lemons true to nature is notthat easy to find in perfumes. No way near lemon napkins or detergent ! It gets softer and strangely morphs into a beautiful soft lavender and sandalwood. The sage is vaguely there and vetiver does not exist on my skin - luckily ! There's one note that usually turns maleish on my skin. Puiww ! Not a sight of it. This is something I would enjoy getting , but buying their 100 ml bottle is way too much for my needs. Overall : Lovely citruses mellows into a type of lavender skinscent sort of thing. Nice !

I do find the name misleading. I know it's unisex so wasn't expecting something overly sweet, but lemon sorbet makes me think something more tart and fresh. This fragrance is more like what you'd smell if you had a lemon tree next to some herbs and greenery. I smell the lemon at first application but that fades pretty quickly leaving the bergamot front and center. The dry down is spicy with it's rosemary. It's definitely not a "feminine" fragrance but nice if you want something citrusy without being sweet. It's also not very long lasting.

Lemon Sorbet smells close to its name. It has the tang smell of a juicy and a bit sweet lemon.I do smell strong,lemon,lavender on a slightly sweet base of sandalwood.I really enjoy sniffing Lemon Sorbet.Very refreshing and energizing,true citrus scent.Smells like you dig your nails into a lemon or like lemon zest.One of my favorites from Etro.My only complain is the lasting power,I wish it was longer..

Lemon Sorbet. Sounds good? I don't usually go for lemon scents, but I do like Lemon Sorbet so much! I guess it's the rosemary and vetiver notes that make it so special. Very uplifting and energizing scent, but my only wish would be for Lemon Sorbet to longer lasting. It leaves my skin after 30 minutes. What a pity!

never was a fan of citruses if perfumery. but I discovered this one as a liquid soap. most delicious and Italian scent ever. year later thinking that I need to get a sample of the fragrance.

True, it's a very energizing scent, but like most lemon scents it fades away too quickly. Try Sol La by Reminiscence, it lasts much longer! (But is also a lot sweeter)
