The saga of Italian niche olfactory creations continues with ManRose, a sunshine-crowned Etro's creation. I was in needing of a rose fragrance since I was left brokenhearted by the last rose scent in my wardrobe (it was empty) and I have founded this on a bargain, so I blind bought it... best blind buy ever! I am not new to Etro's fashion and I literally fell in love with its style; this fragrance is no exception. ManRose opens with a rich, deep note of Calabrian bergamot (and maybe cedar?), polished by elemi, cardamom and a light Sichuan pepper echo. In few minutes, it settles on a beautiful gentle rose - geranium accord, enriched with an elegant precious woods - barely perceivable incense finish and an echo of rose’ jam. The drydown is a vetiver - patchouli - musk affair with a massive leather presence and a line of amber. A realistic, deep and airy construction that follows a clear composition palette. Elegance as (un)usual from the Maison: delivered! This scent reminded us of unknown memories from distant places in space and time. A grown up floriental that surely will change your perspective! Neat and clean, with a memoir from last century sacred procession - holy water and church's seats from a sunny south Italy. For a contemporary gentleman with an oriental signature touch. Unmissable if you love roses and you're a man who loves the unusual and dares to be different. Cannot wait to see my girlfriend again and let her sniff my skin, I will eventually update this review with her opinion! EDIT: my girlfriend fell in love with this scent, complimented and sniffed me an undefinable amount of times!

An eccentric and smooth reminder of central London, this frag makes me feel as I am a Monarch of my own modern imaginary Kingdom full of citizens of both Western and Eastern origins. The kingdom of beauty and correctness where sophisticated ladies and gentlemen are equal to grounded emigrants of all kinds. Very urbanistic, it is suitable for every season and any given occasion. The brightest fantasy of mine develops with this scent on Trafalgar Square under the rain where classics meet globalization. A grotesque Saudi fellow inside red Bentley parked just a few meters away from a traditional Lions sculptures. As for the scent itself, there are two super well-balanced leading notes, a duet of Rose and Cardamom, which beautifully connect my haunting spirit with contemporary European and Middle-Eastern cultures. If there is a blend of Northern and Southern spirits, it comes with ManRose. A single spray on my wrist lasts for at least 5 hours without any serious conversions. A fresh lemony aromatic rose scent. It is a fresher take of rose, compare to all the deeper denser rose combos like oud+rose, patchouli+rose, gourmand vanilla+rose, creamy white floral+ rose and fruity+rose, etc. For me, this humbles my experience with Ormonde Jayne’s Nawab of Oudh Intensivo. Etro Manrose is not as much complex but it gives similar vibe of how sweet aromatic rose is done. This is a rose perfume I would wear at dawn to refresh, awake, and energize myself. It opens with a soft rosy bergamot scent, a citrusy opening that does not burn the nose. It is so fresh and invigorating. Geranium comes in the middle phase to keep the rose slightly green and balance the sweet lemony touch. The incense plays like an invisible veil, I believes it is there as an effect during the hot weather. I thought it is preventing the perfume from being too sharp in sweetness and rosiness. Not like a smokiness presents in Frederic Malle’s Portrait of a Lady. As distinctive as it is, IMO it’s quiet expensive for full retail of $238, but the box is silky, cool. The con is when the bergamot dies down, the sweet rose reminisces a bit much of rosy room sprays or scented candles. However, it is a very delighted rose perfume and I wear it a lot in any situation.

A Grail Masculine Rose. Ive tried many Masculine leaning roses like Rose 31, Lyric, Ala Rose, etc and this its absolutely stunning. This is absolutely a masterpiece. A lively rose with the PERFECT amount of spice and depth kept fresh with bergamot. Whats great about this is that every time I go back I pick up a different part of the basenotes playing its role. I picked this up for around $110 from a discounter and I think its worth every penny. Though I will say for a higher end designer brand like Etro, I was EXTREMELY disappointed in the bottle and cap. Not the biggest deal ever but I dont even know if the bottle is actually glass. Aside from that, the juice instantly placed in my top 10 all time.

Etro's "holy" signature is recognizable in ManRose, as in the most of its glorious fragrances . It transports me in a lovely May late afternoon, in one of the gems of the Amalfi coast, waiting for the Saint patron's procession: The soft breeze, the door of the Church wide open, the statue of the Saint among the blossoms (roses, obviously) and incense residues. And in addition, the citrusy aroma of the Amalfi lemons all around and the geraniums in bloom on the balconies. A gentleman, in a typical Etro's paisley shirts, is sitting at the bar, next to the Curch, drinking a Limoncello.

This is so gorgeous! I'm a young woman but I don't like the sweetness of more feminine scents. I just bought a sample and it's really lovely. Complex, earthy, woody, spicy, and a little smoky alongside the dark, jammy rose, with some citrus sprinkled on top. Love the cardamom! It's a little soapy, but only a smidge, and it's not sweet or powdery. You can definitely smell the leather coming through which gives it a nice smooth, grounded base. This is a sexy scent but honestly I would wear it all the time just so I could smell it.

I love the piquant elemi and pinch of Sichuan pepper that accompanies the rose/geranium accord in this exotic number. It really swirls around me, a fragrant sheath, lingering and wafting, never insistent, gently reminding you of its presence. A certain repose comes from wearing this. As it mellows, grassy, smoky vetiver and incense overshadow the rose and geranium, a great coda to the experience, which lasts several hours. A full work day passes and I nuzzle my wrist to enjoy its phantom impression. Magnificent.

I blind bought this & hit a grand slam. I wore this today & got more compliments THAN ANY OTHER FRAGRANCE BEFORE IT. HOLY COW! I mean from every walk of life. Men, women & even a few kids! The spicy rose is spot on perfect & what a high quality juice. I could see an older woman pulling this off but more on the masculine side. Im so glad I rolled the dice on this one. This will be my signature rose scent. Projection is perfect & not too over powering at all. I absolutely loved this fragrance.

Delightful unisex rose. We will both wear it, though the rich, velvety comfort blanket feel of it makes it more of a treat to be cherished in autumn. I love that the market is wellcoming more and more interesting rose fragrances, and many of the good ones can be worn by both women and men. ManRose by Etro will not let you go unnoticed, without being the least bit attention-seeking.

a great interpretation of rose. bright, transparent, clean but still dark and naughty to the core. How while moschino toy boy hits the market with praise, this one stayed under the radar? a person who loves toy boy, i love this blend a bit more. more usable, more versatil and smells great.

Yes I love Manrose but I would not agree that it is understated. Rather it is incense and rose with a flash metallic top note, maybe that’s the bergamot or maybe the patchouli. Not for the faint of heart . Too ecclesiastical Jean Genet to wear to the office.

ManRose is a very good rose for men's frag. A very realistic rose, rounded with a lot of woods and a touch of incense. Longevity and sillage, are very good and a lot of compliments. Excellent!!!

This ManRose is seriously unique! I get so many compliments on it. It's spicy and fresh at the same time, with a really nice rose note that isn't overpowering. Definitely lasts all day too.

Manrose is a very fine and elegant fragrance. The note that maintains all the development of the fragrance is the Turkish rose. This rose is fresh and green right at the beginning, with the notes of departure, when mixed with the bergamot and the sweet resin of elemi, precious, this is where I like the aroma, but this phase lasts little. As it evolves, this rose becomes spicy, dry and quite woody, "remembering" fragrances already on the market, such as the Cartier: Declaration d'un soir or Nevermore of Frapin. The drying is quite similar to the middle phase, undoubtedly, it is seductive and very masculine, facets of incense, musk and a pale note of leather that leave me with a good overall feeling, like that of a rose dried inside a book, but even so, keep reminding me of these other fragrances already mentioned above. Manrose stands out well at the beginning, but for my taste it becomes more boring and unoriginal during the middle phase and drying. The duration is good and it is somewhat shy because of how it projects. Rating: 6.5

I bought a decant of this and I really like it. But it's way more femmie than I thought it would be. I've worn Etro's Messe de Minuit for years and I guess I thought that Manrose would be more like that, but without the church incense and be deeper and more masculine. I love the gushing rose/geranium with the lighter incense, but the patchouli, leather, and vetiver just aren't as strong as I thought they'd be in a scent being marketed to men. I think it needs a new name. Wearers of unisex perfumes will wear this, but I keep wondering if men are wearing it. Or wearing it after the second or third time.

Really luminous take on a rose accord. The rose is done majestically, very smooth juicy rose accompanied by those woodsy undertones and a solid musk at the base. The geranium is present but not overbearing or too syntheticlike witch is what i hate abot this note. The impression it leaves is of a sophisticated person. Maybe female leaning but to me it just fit in the unisex category very well. Only downsite is projection and longevity... I get only 2 to 3 hours with avg projection. But still worth the bottle in my opinion, if you like a juicy luminous rose, get it.

I started out completely loving this fragrance but the more and more I wear it, it’s leaning a little too fem for my personal liking. It’s an airy yet jammy rose but it also has a metallic chemical taste to it. Yes you heard me “TASTE” ... Everytime I spray this fragrance I can taste it. It’s very potent and will last all day. I thought this was for me but I will be passing this on to my mother. I know she will love it. Thank you ETRO !

Manrose is beautiful, on any gender! I just acquired this one today and it works perfectly as it is actually completely unisex. A good dose of fresh bergamot, bit of spice, gentle aromatics, a whiff of incense, and above it all a stunning rose. I'm glad the geranium note is rather subdued here, and doesn't contaminate the rose note. Wonderful fragrance for spring/summer with decent longevity. I just wish it projected more.
