Royal Pavillon

This is a rich warm evening scent for cold weather. On my skin it's musky and a little bit floral, not sweet or bitter. I feel some pleasant leather notes in the base. Only 1-2 sprays needed, if more - it can be overpowering. I do not recommend it for teens and young girls. Its so good for cold weather, it opens with something tasty and warm that reminds me of a bakery and lasts for several hours. The more I wear it, the more I love it.

Wow! Luscious, stately, and yet kind of raw. Equipage meets carnal flower meet anteus. The white flowers are blooming, it's dusk, rich drunken people stroll around the royal pavillon, you notice people frolicking giddily among the foliage... music is not far. this perfume is sumptuous, it's an exuberant young man in his mid thirties with beautiful white clothes, smiling calmly, but in his eyes a malicious twinkle.

Elegant and spectacular. It has that aloof quality that is usually associated with Chanel and Hermes. I am not really into yellow florals but this has caught my attention from first sniff. It is very cold and quite serious. At the same time it gives you a feeling of walking into a garden in the middle of the morning while the sun is baking the flowers under high temperatures. Transportive by all means.

What can I say better than alphairone did ? No more I think ! And if I have to explain about how I feel when I wear this beauty I just have to read below ! For me this is one of the best florals for anyone who loves these notes..this is so smooth, so perfectly balanced and so great. For all seasons and unisex for sure, yes a real treasure !

Opens with golden mimosa, then gets overshadowed by ripened jasmine, but the two eventually harmonize with ylang. Rich, classy, and warm without being overbearing; indolic at times but not quite animalic. My top 2 from the house!

Royal Pavillon Etro (Vintage 1988 bottle, EDT, 95 USD). I have chance to come across, Etro - Royal Pavillon from 1988. Been a long time ride Etro Paisley print, really Wanna have one in collection. And yes, Mimosa lead me here with my favorite Balsam friend. The bottle is seal, it seems the universe play trick sending. The seal bottle of vintage fragrance to me lately. But finally, I open it. The next would be L'heure Bleue. The EDT have strong orange color, feel like a property of aged Aldehyde Turn color change from lite yellow to Orange by time. Well, this is 35 years old bottle. ... It's essentially the original no.22 but dusty mimosa, almost gummy acacia. seems to provide a dusty feels. Fight with Sweet cushion tuberose of pass era. and green white not-so-indolic jasmine. The way it emit. Cystal-like. Waltz, follow the body it kind of I am there. Almost there, kind of here situation. Ghostly, perhaps. but you could scent it. but undescribable perfume instead. Kind of yellow fragrance of an era. 80's but in the way natural amp up the dusty mimosa. The tastiest part of this fragrance surely, a sandalwood. Milky wood texture. Feel like Milk. cover under all the dance of floral in bloom up front. It is so smooth, silk-like. And it sure a dominant part in my bottle. I know sandalwood in vintage perfume. (Been Ma Liberte, Been Samsara, Been Le Jardin Sandalwood). And in this. Uhm... I bite my lips already. Think how should I describe how smooth it is. It so buttery but in the background. not pushing. being big, just smooth floor for floral in bloom. Perhaps, next to Diptyque. This is also my favorite mimosa in perfumery. Believe, this surpass the impression with Santa Maria Gaggia.

Very delicate Jasmin. Reminds me of night scented jasmin by Floris, but this one is musky, what makes it more tender.

Smells like yellow florals and a bit of moss and sandalwood. Also smells leathery. It's very interesting and I'm liking this fragrance quite a bit! -

Most of the Etro offerings I've sniffed to date have been colognes both in name and in effect. Not so in the case of my recently acquired bottle of ROYAL PAVILLON, bestowed upon me by fellow Fragrantican Action. Rather than an eau de toilette, as it claims, I'd say that ROYAL PAVILLON is closer to an eau de parfum, given the strength, sillage, and longevity of this composition. Or perhaps this is simply a reminder of what these categories used to mean before houses began diluting their perfumes to increase the volumes of sales. There was a time, after all, when roller balls did not exist since women did not need to re-apply their perfume. Two small touches in he morning used to be all that one needed. The very concept of the “portable fragrance” rests upon the assumption that the longevity is poor, what we are being marketed into believing is perfectly acceptable and indeed to be expected of what are claimed to be eaux de parfum though they are much closer in concentration to what used to be called colognes. But I digress. ROYAL PAVILLON strikes me as a vintage creation, an oriental from another era with a big emphasis on castoreum and civet—-dark and deep notes which some may find forbidding. Upon application, I was immediately reminded of Crown Perfumery TANGLEWOOD BOUQUET, which however features a hefty dose of styrax. These compositions include dense components which tend to overshadow the more popular current oriental bases. The woodiness, patchouli, and amber common to and often salient in twenty-first-century oriental perfumes are not present here. Having grown accustomed to such bases, I'll probably be mixing ROYAL PAVILLON with an amber- or patchouli-focused linear perfume so as to moderate the darkness a touch, which evenly sparingly applied brings this wearer close to the cusp of a headache. The vessel in which this heady mix is housed is truly beautiful, with etchings reminiscent of the gorgeous Ralph Lauren SAFARI bottle. Very vintage, all in all.

I love the notes of mimosa and acacia, but haven't found any fragrances with such notes that as a whole really work with my chemistry and my taste, until now. Royal Pavillon is a mesmerizing study in yellow florals, with the aforementioned notes, wonderfully chewy, plush, and dense, harmonizing with an indolic jasmine and ripe ylang-ylang. I had my reservations about having such a saturation of florals leaning so feminine in my skin that I couldn't pull it off, but as I wear it, I realize that there isn't really a gendered quality to this ravishing kaleidoscope. It's an experience that transcends all that nonsense, and experience counts far more than any cultural perceptions when it comes to my relationship with scent. As I write this, Pat Metheny's "Hermitage" plays, and serves as a perfect backdrop. As it settles into the heart, Royal Pavillon has a shade of creme de violette and a supporting rose accent, while a foreshadowing of moss and powdery sandalwood peek through like autumn sunlight. I am enveloped in it all in an almost intoxicating way, drifting off all daydream-like. This is heady and voluminous, but in no way a catalyst for headaches; rather it feels to me like some sort of mental salve. While castoreum and civet are present and discernible in the base, they meld into the composition in a way that exalts all else, rather than rendering the discrete whole as an "animalic floral." Vetiver also anchors it; I do find that Etro has a way with using vetiver rather judiciously and tastefully in a number of its compositions (Shaal Nur, Palais Jamais) so that it isn't a crutch but rather a soft-spoken crux. While it's an EDT concentration, this wears as an EDP, lingering for hours with gentle reminders. What a real treasure.

A salicylate rich opening of mimosa and acacia (salicylates occur naturally in these extracts, enhanced by ylang) - rich, robust & natural. Yellow flowers, damp cardboard, violets & roses in an ionone rich cloud that cover the puffy yellow blossoms. Slowly the ylang-jasmine combo rises forming a sumptuous powdery cloud - indolic & strange. A troubling base of oakmoss, leathery castoreum and woody notes underpin the florals, giving a touch of raunch; a subtle sweatiness. They just don't make florals like this anymore. The quality of the ingredients alone is undoubtedly of the highest degree. Every nuance of the florals is felt deeply & richly. An unctuous, beautiful, powdery, subtly leathery floral.

Royal Pavilion's name calls up the oneiric atmosphere of a winter garden. Refined and feminine fragrance with it`s precious bouquet of flowers. Jasmine and mimosa dominate the top,ylang-ylang and violets are quiet and creamy. After this a terrific entrance for the woody, grassy heart(vetiver and oakmoss).The middle notes under the floral add spice, and the great animalic end (civet and castoreum). Royal Pavillion is more of what I've been looking for!

Although Royal Pavillon is far from what I look for in perfumes, I find it a very elegant and feminine floral blend. It feels green and fresh and in the drydown the most distinctive notes on my skin are the vetyver and oakmoss. I expected it to be a loud and retro frag but it turned out subtle and discreet and very good for officewear. I imagine it being worn by an elegant fair complexioned woman in a spring afternoon somewhere out of town.

Syrian jasmines & ylan ylang combo. Clean soft jasmines with hints of animalics. It's the transformation of fragrances from the 80s powerhouse animalic to clean bubble era of the 90s as you can detect the castoreum, and civet at the base with doses of violets, red roses, and vetiver. It has that vintage mimosa and animalic blend. Never thought that it'll be that good and inspiring! Quite impressive.

This perfume makes u understand what top, heart and base notes mean :) also the dry down is ... NOT vanilla :))) however the notes are incomplete. The Paraguayan petit grain, the tuberose, Siam benzoin are missing
