No 3

Yurtdisinda, büyük bir parfüm magazasinda, tanıdığım satış elemanı ile birlikte gezinirken rastladım. Eutopie nin tüm parfümleri güçlü, sert ve her ortamda baskın olacak türden. Böyle sert ve baskın parfumlere önce mesafeli kalırım. Çünkü değişim sonrasında geriye pek güzel şeyler kalmıyor. Ancak bu sefer karşımda değişimini oldukça yavaş gerçekleştiren, 1-2 saat boyunca neredeyse aynı şekilde ilerleyen sonrasında ise sadece yumuşayan bir parfüm vardı. Safran çiçeği çok güzel bir şekilde hep karşımızda. Yukarda üyeler en baskın kökünün Oud olduğunu söylemiş ancak buna katılmıyorum. Oud ü farketmek oldukça zor. Ben saatler sonra bile Oud alamadım. Belki safran ve amber ile sarıldığı için olabilir. Şeker ve baharat karışımı gibi geliyor ancak safran ile pudrali bir hal alıyor. Bazı parfümler "velvet" tanımlamasını kullanıyor ki bu parfüm bence 2 saat sonunda kesinlikle bu tanımı hak ediyor. Unisex kavramını pek sevmediğini daha önce yazmıştım. Ancak bu parfüm bu tanımı hak eden bir yapıda. Kesinlikle kadın ve erkek kullanabilir. 30 yaş ve üstü için, çok sıcak yaz ayları dışında çok uygun. Kalıcılığı çok kuvvetli, koku dağılımı ise ilk 1-2 saat boyunca inanılmaz. Bu nedenle kapalı ortamlara girmeden en az 1 saat önce kullanmanız lazım. Özellikle erkekler, kökünün ilk 15-20 dakika boyunca hafif şekilde feminen ilerlemesi nedeniyle bu konuya dikkat etmeli. Zaten her yarım saatte bir parfüm sıkan, etrafını terörize eden kişilerin eline düşmemeli. Bu basli başına ayrı bir konu. Parfümü kullanmanın da bir adabı var ve malesef birçok kişi "çok kokmanin" bir marifet olduğunu sanıyor. Tanıdığım birçok kişinin parfüme olgunlaşma sansi vermediğini biliyorum. Bu nedenle dikkat ve özellikle No:3 un zaten kuvvetli bir parfum unutmadan keyfini cikartin.

Created by Sonia Constant, Givaudan perfumer, and nose for brands such as Lacoste, Fragonard, Loewe, Montblanc, Narciso Rodriguez, O Boticário, etc. Eutopie No.3 is an ambery and spicy fragrance, which exudes a lot and deceives the senses, conveying floral nuances as it evolves. Following the concept of the creations that founded Eutopie house, the inspiration for the fragrance of Eutopie No.3 came from the voyages of the nomadic couple, now towards the Mediterranean Sea. This time, precious materials such as incense, woods, and gold, found by explorers throughout history, served as the theme for this composition. Eutopie No.3 has notes of cumin, saffron, and juniper on the top, followed by notes of sandalwood, Indian cypriol, and oud, on a base of amber, frankincense, musk, vanilla and patchouli from Indonesia. It reaches the skin in an intense and fearless way. The cumin is very noticeable, giving a green and slightly bitter output. But the body of the fragrance carries the most prominent notes of all its evolution, with the creaminess of the sandalwood and a beautiful smell of cypriol (also known as Nagarmotha), which is of the Cyperus family, as well as the papyrus. Its scent is floral and sweet, but it also can confuse, because it reminds me of the scent of mimosa, when used in great quantity in some perfumes. Unfortunately, the strong output loses power in a short time and Eutopie No.3 becomes smooth, yet stable. For a few moments, I thought this would be the strongest fragrance after testing the perfumes of No.1 and No.2. But, apparently, the pattern of projection was maintained. Over time, the base shows itself sweeter and the notes of amber and Amyris blend themselves with the vanilla, creating a sensual aspect, which can go wrong on warmer days. In my opinion, Eutopie No.3 is quite shareable, but its initial phase may scare the “machos” on duty. However, knowing how to wait, the fragrance becomes pleasant and welcoming. And to finish, among the three fragrances tested so far, this was the one that lasted the longest.

Oud seems to be a love-or-hate-note with many people. Me, I am just fine with it. Having tried few oud-based perfumes, I have not picked a firm position yet :-). One of my first encounters was No 3 Eutopie - which is big on oud. No 3 is sweet and strong (I am talking about enormous sillage and longevity), with a slight bitterness from the saffron and a smokiness from the incense. I like it best in winter, but it is also nice in the warmer weather. No 3 sounds like a heavy coat to wear, but it actually is a happy, even sunny smell on my skin. A big recommendation from an oud-amateur.

First of all I'd like to share some info regarding my olfactive experience, so that you could perhaps choose to give a better credit to the comments that I made for this brand and its products below: I've started to use designer parfums in 1989 in an age of 12, and ever since I might have used more than 100 bottle of different designer parfums.(as seen in my fragrantica profile) After getting know the niche parfum concept in 2011 with Tom Ford series I have used over 20 bottles of different niche parfums of various niche brands too.Beside the ones I purchased, I used samples of more than 400 different products (niche and designer) And the number of parfums I have tested in stores could be roughly more than 2000. The reason why I am telling this,is I humbly believe that my nose is expreienced and sensitive enough to recognize the ingredients in a composition and differentiate the genuine from the synthetic ones. By falling in love to the ingredient list shown above, I ordered the no 3, no 6 and no 10 from Eutopie, and I swear, none of the ingrdients listed is inside, For no 3, not a single shred of oud, no slightest trace of saffron, not a hint of sandal wood , not a single quantum of insence, no smallest particle of patchouli either.no juniper no amyris.What I smell is a shamelessly synthetic and horrifyingly cheap mixture of such untastefully chosen and so unskilfully blended pharmaceutical flavours that we know otherwise from cough syrups or liquid vitamins.It's a money trap, I strictly advise to refrain.
