Desert Nocturne

First impressions. Starts out as a regular oud-rose-saffron combo. Seems nicely blended, the oud is not rubbery or medicinal, but if you don't like oud, you won't like this one. Reminds me of quite a few oud fragrances. After a few hours, there is a definite transition to the waxy, buttery, musky castoreum note that reminds me of the drydown of Antaeus. This phase is also very nicely done, but it's the transition itself that intrigues me. The incense note is there in the beginning, but fades quickly. The orange peeks through from time to time. There is some general sweetness, maybe vanilla. I didn't get much patchouli. There is quite a bit of complexity, it's nonlinear, but there are no clashing notes. The oud I could take or leave, but I'm really enjoying the castoreum here.

I smelled it on my best friend, she wore it for my birthday in the summer and she smelled absolutely amazing - it was hot and dry and even though it does not show here it had facets of dried dates. The oud is not strong, it`s beautifully mixed and does not dominate luckily.

At first I felt a pretty strong old and dusty smell that I dis not like. A few hours later I totally forgot it is on me and I did not even smelled it but I entered a room and people complimented. I feel really lightly on myself after 3-4 hours but others said it is definitely noticable and really nice
