Noir d'Orient

Had a tester and fell in love, waiting impatiently till my local perfumery gets it back in stock. Now I'm armed with a 100 ml bottle and have made it my new signature scent (let's see how long it keeps the spot for). It's spicy, sweet, and memorable, yet highly wearable at the same time. The rum is subtle enough not to make the fragrance super boozy (at least to me), and the incense is quite subdued as well. "Warm spicy" as the main accord describes Noir d'Orient very well.

Just got the samples for the whole collection of Evody. I have tried several of them but this is the one I fell for at first sight. Spicy would describe it really well. It would definitely be a good winter scent. I have had a similar scent in my collection once but I cannot figure it out so it is not very unique but not very common either. Yes, tobacco vanille by Tom Ford is kinda similar to this. Scent: 8.5/10 Longevity: 8/10 Projection: 8/10

I love this! It reminds me of Ambre Sultan but without the dirty skank. It's richer than Ambre Sultan as well. There is something headache inducing that I have experienced with Chanel Egoiste - so maybe the cinnamon? I'm loving this as a test spray on my arm but I'm wondering if it might be too much for wearing on day to day. I might pass this to my partner because this is just tipped over the scale for me into the masculine.

Oehhhwooooh; this is overwelming; a very stunning combination of spicy, smokey and an almost licorice sweetness. (Swedish licorice balls) If you have enough of Oud but you love spice, wood, dry and also a little sweetness..try this... But not in the early morning :-)) and ( after 15 minutes) if you ever taste swedish licorice balls ( such a lovely fragrance but the connotation with this candy is too big for me)

Spicy incense with an overall warm feeling—comforting is a good descriptor. I’ve worn this twice and both times I really enjoyed it. Sometimes the best perfumes don’t need a lengthy review.

The first 5 minutes of this fragrance I hate, it smells like fish thanks to the driftwood note, but boy after that it smells awesome!

Very much the roughneck and an odd one out of all the Evodys I've tried so far. The house usually makes smooth, mannered, quite polite, classy and quiet scents with a distinctively sweet, lasting centre in common - whether they're trying to be woody (Bois Secret) or leathery (Cuir Blanc) or amber (Amber Intense) ... I tend to like them, but find them a little too smooth and not quite weird enough. This on the other hand ... is something other - rank and skanky and abrasively spicy - and I'm torn. It's deeply dark and drenched in rum and cinnamon and some seriously intense charcoaly woods. The punch of clove is absolutely huge. Yes it does have a fair bit in common with Idole, which I love - though the Lubin is much, much sweeter and gentler. Noir d'Orient is just a little bit too much of a beast. I can see what it's trying to do and it's so nearly ecstatic. But for me it's just a shade too acrid at first (though it does calm down a lot) and slightly overwhelming. Definitely should not be a blind buy and used sparingly. Do be bold and try it, though - I would say this could very easily be a signature scent for a strong, stylish, assertive man or woman.

A woody oriental dye that starts with a smell of Ron and spice great. Great because the smell of rum does not smell like a distillery or a bar, the mixture is soft, fine, delicate and very well aerated. The point of incense and cinnamon gives you that touch of feeling in a paradise lost in the middle of the desert, at the fall of the sun. The drying takes chocolate dyes by a fabulous patchouli with undeclared amber that causes the fragrance to be directed towards hot chocolate delights without letting it fall into the gourmand. The drifting wood is a name that is very exotic but here I do not feel it anywhere. Good duration and medium stela. From everything I've tested from Evody this fragrance is the best of the firm !! This is a beautiful spicy semi-gourmand unisex scent which reminds me Christmas and a greek sweet dessert called "βαρβαρα". Dominant notes are : spicy cloves, cinnamon, a pinch of incense and rum. Similar to Ambre Narguile by hermes. Totally unisex and beautiful. EDIT It has very good longevity and above the average projection and sillage.

I absolutely adore this fragrance. Warm spicy incense woodsy and it is a bit boozy on my skin. I wanted to make her mine but I found the projection lacking and the spillage almost non existent. In about an hour turns to skin scent. I bought a full bottle bc of how affordable it is but I wish it had more oomph and lasting power.

Spicy comfort in a hygge, velvet slippers and comfy leather armchair sort of way. Less resinous and complicated than Arabie or Cimabue.

Nice surprise ! In the opening lots,lots, lots of spices (cinnamon and cloves), sweet, soothing, shining with an aura. Later on the rum steps in. Boozy and grown-up. This is what makes this fragrance un-girly, no little girl smells like a bottle of Captain Morgan :-) Later there is lots of bakery vanilla. Very nice ! Longevity and sillage are great. Should be dosed carefully. Might be interesting for fans of Ambre Narguilé, Oajan and Idole.

Interesting fragrance. Even if they are different, to some extent it reminds me of a more wearable version of LDDM (no one wants to smell as if he just went to a moroccan street market), more subtle and refined too. It's a shame that it's too soft on my skin as it would have been FB worthy otherwise. Still the dry down is beautiful

Peppery, cloves, spices, and rum with slight of sweet cinnamon, & incense. Overdose pepper i can say. It's a fragrance i have smelled previously somewhere but i can't remember which, so it is common to my nose somehow. Fairly good but not an overwhelming to me.
