Sunset strip downtown Los Angeles at dusk, when the heat is beginning to mix with a gentle gust of the day's events. A glint of beeswax hair relaxer; some tarot shop incense; simmering spices with fresh tortillas; and gingerade. Paunch sweat equity and a slight hint of diesel. And then a Reseda 3am dry down of amber. Gyrating disco bodies squeezing by with cigarettes and syrupy salad bar filled hi-balls. Animalic far in the hills, outside of a woody, laurel canyon door to catch a house purr. Super suerte.

I was going into this thinking it's going to smell like bee by zoologist but it doesn't. This one is really woody with a slight touch of sweetness from the honey and beeswax. I expected to be hit by a smooth buttery sweetness but this is not it, go for bee if you want something like that. This is different and unique, I really like this one. Blended really well, fantastic for the office and as a signature scent in the cold months, it did remind a bit of grand soir but not the same. Gets a love from me.

Inspired by the Kyphi(the first origin of perfume)from the Ancient Egypt I expected something dark and smoky reminiscnet of old temples, instead I got a modern, warm, comforting scent. There's a hint of dusty elemnts among thick layers of honeyed amber, raisins and woods that might call to mind a different era but this is made in modern interpretation. Although not mentioned in the notes I smell vanilla and cinnamon subtly mixed with creamy labdanum and narcissus. On my skin castoreum in the base gives a fruity, musky and sweet undertone but nothing too animalic that would scare you away. It is very nicely made, somewhat linear scent with good longevity. I really wouldn't mind wrapping myself in this heady, comforting aroma this winter.

Hmmm... Beeswax, dark oud!, ginger & doses of honey. It's like a honey dew musk, and i feel some ancient Egypt in here somehow! I smell wax AND honey rather than beeswax with slight black peppers and a tiny bit of salty note beside sandalwood. No tonka bean so far. I can't define this as an animalic fragrance but could be musky somehow as patchouli begins to show after 5 minutes on my arm. Interesting somehow.
