Thirty Three

Rose-oud may be the most crowded field in modern perfumery. It seems like every house--niche or designer--has an offering. The vast majority are either predictable, banal affairs or ill conceived thought experiments that should have remained inside some perfumer's head. I therefore approached Ex Idolo's Thirty-Three not so much with trepidation as resignation. Much as I WANT to love this style, I simply have not found it to be wearable...until now. Thirty-three is not a particularly inventive fragrance, and perhaps that is its great accomplishment. It simply delivers what it promises: a delightful Taif rose supported by well-blended "oud." I put the latter in quotes because, while I am sure that Thirty-Three contains a quantum of aged oud, it is clearly supported by synthetics as well. No shame in that! Especially given how smooth the overall composition is. Sillage is decent, but not of the Montale Black Aoud variety. And this, again, is a good thing. If Thirty Three were nothing more than a dialed back Black Aoud, it would be worthy of respect. But it is more than that. It feels more natural and better blended. The rose note in particular is quite nice here (and I find rose to be the most challenging note in perfumery). This is probably my new reference for the category. Overall rating: * * * *

This is the most beautiful aromatic type oud rose Ive ever smelt. It brings you back to the victorian days and its easy on the nose. Its not overbearing and doesn't pack a punch like love and crime does but dont at all think its weak. Its a big hitter and to me, a master aromatic rose blend. To me there are a few different types of rose smells in fragrances. You get a dirty root rose that smells very natural like a gardener who just pulled it out of the ground aka (MFK Rose, Khandahar), then you got the thick powdery Rose that fills the nose and sometimes can be overbearing or feel synethic and then you have aromatic rose, that hits the nose with less molecules and feels like your smelling the rose as it came over a fresh mountain river. This is that. Its not super sweet but there is enough patchouli on drydown to at least get hints of a sweeter rose which says something about its character. Definitely a story in motion here like love + crime and worth checking out if your a rose and oud lover.

love it! this is the perfect oud-roses combo, becasue rose here smells tea like fresh, zesty and airy, just like Taif roses smell, and oud hints to medicinal, clean surgery like side, but not harsh, not synthetic, natural and adds to this airy velvety feeling, this combo although it may sound like boring smells like perfection. the price was 130 pounds for a bottle, and i think its worth every penny. I dont like patchouly and i dont smell it here, as time goes by the scent softens a bit, rose patchouly would be classic standard boring combo, this is amazing how the list of notes makes it look like another boring frag and then you smell it and you are blown away of how everything is proportioned to the perfection. P.S. i hate to know that EU houses sell cheaper in the USA, 120 USD!?? this is london based house simmilar perfumes: Beyond rose just cheap ingredients, but without taif rose...and taif rose here reminds me of Homage attar

"Vintage Chinese Oud oil" and "Vintage Chinese Rose oil". How exciting! Surely this will be the perfume to crush all other Oud and Rose perfumes! And at a fairly decent price, its worth a blind buy in my book! Too bad it smells exactly like Montale Black Aoud. I was so disappointed, i was beside myself. Not that it smells bad, it smell amazing. But so does Black Aoud, and i already have a whole lot of Black Aoud. So either Ex Idolo is taking the piss as they say when they tell us this perfume has all these "natural" oils, or Montale REALLY knows how to copy natural ingredients. If the Ex Idolo wasnt half as strong as the Montale, i'd say they truly are identical. But 33 is no where near as strong as the Montale. That's probably good news for some i'm sure. The longevity is great, but also not as good as Black Aoud. Not even close. Not much else to say, if you know and love Black Aoud, stick with it!

A lovely sophisticated Floriental. Although much of the scent is jammy and resinous rose and a nice light Chinese Oud, this one has a more softer and velvetier feel than many of its counterparts. Addition of other floral/fruity notes including a standout patchouli and an interesting light metallic note give this juice a nice texture, vibe and projection. Moderate to strong in sillage and longevity and unisex, this is a relatively inexpensive but well composed Rose Oud with character and depth that needs to be tried by those into modern exotic Orientals and rose based fragrances. Enjoy!

My signature perfume! Everywhere I go people make positive comments about how I smell! I like that it does not only smell like roses but patchouli as well! It lasts for a very long time and sometimes find myself awakening with a good mood to it with clothes that had the perfume on it that were hanging near my bed! I love this perfume! Not too strong and not weak at all! 10 out of 10!

On my skin this is primarily a rose fragrance. I see a few earlier comments also said this. This is a very beautiful natural tea rose accompanied by a wonderful tea note. It performs well - in fact very very well, and has a soft pleasant oud dry down. This is a great fragrance and I'm happy to add it to my collection. The quality of ingredients to price ration is exceptional.

Sharp and narcotic. Lasts forever on clothes and skin. The rose and metallic notes really blanket much of the oud to my nose. This is the type of scent a confident, well-dressed villain would wear - dousing himself in a powdery rose cologne after wiping blood off his hands.

This is one of the best and earliest rose ouds on the market. As it dries down, it becomes creamy, almost ambery on the skin. It is sweet, dry and perfect except for the pain point price.

I only have a sample and I really like it! Such a strong perfume and reminds me very much of Wood Mystique by Estee Lauder! Both so powerful but Ex Idolo takes the lead in my opinion :-)

To me this smells a bit like a church, it smells like religious devotion, what the hot priest in fleabag would wear

Thirty three is a dark papery rose fragrance that starts with an overpowering gasoline note. I think it’s the caoutchouc or a combination of that with the initial phase of the Oud oil, and it’s not pleasant, it almost caused me to abandon this and wash it off, but hold on. It burns off within the first half hour to forty minutes, leaving an Oud rose that is dark and papery but still intense and a little bit gothic. This Oud isn’t an overpowering barn yard type of Oud that stands out from the rose, rather it completely blends in with this dark red rose and slowly dyes its petals black. The rose is very present but it’s not lush or jammy or sweet, it’s strong and austere. This is the heart of the perfume and it’s lovely. For about 3 hours it projected off my skin like this, but then it turns into more of a rosy skin scent. The skin scent phase lasts a long time, up to 10 more hours. I really liked this aside from the top notes which are definitely a bit of a sticking point. There’s very little that is traditionally feminine in this fragrance and I would call it unisex or masculine.

This is pure heaven. It's been a while since I clicked love instead of like for a perfume and this gets so much love, I've given some thought to knocking Miel de Bois off my signature spot to give way for 33. Its in the same vein as Kurkdjian's Lumiere Noire Pour Femme, another heartbreaking love of mine. This is the kind of rose I have decided I really like, non powdery, dark dark DARK rose and in your face oud and patchouli of amazing, headshop quality but with some ritz. Patchouli haters steer clear of this one. Those who have migraines triggered by strong scents, stay away from this one. Another super plus point of this is the fantastic sillage and longevity, it's been even longer since I slid the longevity bar all the way to the right side and sillage is huge, it's Amouage style and more. I blind bought this to celebrate my 33rd year on this planet and this has to be the best blind buy ever. Those who own but dislike it, I'm ready to buy up bottles and I don't have a habit of keeping back-ups :) That's how good this smells on me, to me.

Let's be honest: right now on the market you could wander through rose-ouds like getting lost in a forest. (Actually I wouldn't mind doing that. Sounds like fun, if I had enough snacks...) I like my sample of Thirty-Three, but it's not *that* much different from other rose-ouds in my collection. The initial burst of oud is sharper, perhaps. A bit rubbery which I don't mind. Perhaps it's the much-touted "natural" oud. I like the bitter, medicinal oud funk. However, the drydown is similar to other combinations of rose and oud I have smelled, and it's just not special enough on my skin to make me want to seek out a full bottle. Additionally, some reviewers get a lot of longevity out of this one; not me. Ninety minutes in, and my skin has sucked it all up. I put my nose to my wrist and... well, goodbye, sweet funky oudy dream. But if you like rose and oud, you should at least sample this one. Who knows, on you it could be magic!

This is familiarly Arab. It also smells just like incense that is often burned in mosques and fragrance worn by men in attendance. I imagine this being worn by a kind uncle, though it is unisex. Like other reviewers mention, the rose/floral is most prominent, with an underlying oud that doesn't stand out as the fragrance wears. The opening is quite strong, with that rubbery scent making a brief entrance before making way for the overall warm, rosey-iris incense scent which I think characterizes this fragrance. What I also found interesting, and which other reviews don't seem to mention, was that I picked up on a slight menthol note which creeps towards the end of every sniff as I directly smelled the fragrance on my wrists. Not a personal favorite given that it does not feel unique to me, but still a pleasant fragrance which wears nicely.

It's a great rose/oudh/patch combo. Wears nicely, keeps your nose interested. But, that's the problem for me. I feel like it's wearing me, not the other way around. The metal takes it more to the masculine side than I'm wanting right now. But, I change fragrances like underwear, lol, so the fact that it's good quality, interesting and smells good may have me reaching for my sample more often than my review suggests. Edited to add; the oudh is really silky smooth. Nothing jarring, it blends beautifully. You know it's there as a main note, but somehow it ends up supporting the floral aspects as well. It's one of those rare stars that share the limelight. And I'm not really an oudh lover, maybe bc so much of whats in modern perfumery isn't really oudh? Ha.

I have finally found a perfume that is full bottle worthy. I've been testing samples with rose notes for 3 months and after the 4th wear, Thirty Three won! I have never loved a fragrance more than this. Here is the decision maker. I wore Thirty-Three last night to the movies and had on a scarf. I put the scarf back on tonight and the fragrance wafted up and it was gorgeous. A full 24 hours later. I reveled in it for about 3 hours and finally was compelled to go online a buy a 30 ml bottle. The perfume has everything I love. Citrus, rose, heliotrope, lilac, wood. It is an absolute eye roller..for me anyway. The bottle is a beauty too.

After sampling, I have to say this thing is one of the best performing fragrances I’ve come across. Though it does share a common DNA with other rose/patch/ouds, this one is just done better than most. I kid you not, one spray will last for 24+hrs and, at least for me, never gets too cloying. I’m sure if you overspray you might not survive, but with a light hand it’s great. It’s making me wanna trash my Black Aoud and Gold Rose Oud for this one. Price is right and 30ml is more than enough.

With this fragrance it is definitely better to catch wafts of this scent rather than sticking your nose right on your arm and taking a big whiff. That being said, I think I'd prefer to smell this on someone else rather than on my body and having to smell it all day long. So, if you wear a fragrance to please others then this is a bold choice, but if you wear a fragrance for mainly yourself you better hope you really like this bc you will smell it all day long and even into the next day.

Not a whole lot to say, or add to what has already been said. Another rose 'n oud fragrance in an increasingly crowded category. This one is inky, dark, rather resinous with more oud than rose. Not overly outstanding. Projection is fine and longevity is good. agree with many of the other reviewers. This is reminiscent of Montale Black Aoud. It has a more Inky Aoud smell than Black Aoud, and a less quality rose. Great projection, great longevity.

Thirty Three is a delightful fragrance - the bright spark of citrus mingles with the spicy warmth of black pepper and patchouli, while a rose slowly blooms in the heart of the fragrance. Although tobacco isn't listed as a note, I do get quite a heady whiff of for the first half hour before the rose notes slowly start to take over. Quite good longevity and sillage - I kept getting very distinct whiffs throughout the day, very pleasant.

This is a very lovely, sophisticated rose/oud scent, but on my skin it took a long time for the oud and patchouli to settle into what becomes a very pleasant drydown (about 2 hours). I'm not sure I would pay for a full bottle on that basis, but your mileage may vary. This is listed as a unisex, as is the current trend, but after the woody notes wear off and the rose emerges, this appears entirely feminine to my nose.

The patch in this scent was aged from the year I was born and all I can say is 1980 was a good year! Ha ha on a more serious note the patchouli in this is fabulous combined with the ever present rose and peppery woods. I own a few rose/ Oud combos and this smells the most realistic . It's a keeper

If you are familiar with Geo Thumper's Rose Shaving Cream, this is the rose that you will fine here. While I do find this available to a male, I wouldn't wear this until I'm 60 or so. Fantastic for a female looking for a deep rose/oud.

Nice oud Rose combo. Reminds me of a very pink rose despite the dark colour of the juice. Leans towards the feminine but I am a guy and still enjoy wearing it... would have liked the oud note to be more prominent

Metallic Taif rose dip into Patchouli/Cocao type of oud. I also detected other flowers, which is very pretty. It's quite strong and on the sweet side. I liked it at first but got tired after couple hours due to the heavy sweetness.

Ya, oud/rose patch. Blah blah blah, nothing to see here. Montale/mancera metallic dna, but much better and great performance.

I hate rose but I get sucked into reviews and for some reason thought this could be different. Lol yeah right! If your a lady and care about a mans opinion I wouldn’t wear this out of the comfort of your own home and if your a guy, I’d start to think about planning your retirement. Rose is my most hated note yet like a dummy I keep giving them a try. This screams middle aged human being but someone thats such a nice person that you could never tell them how bad they really smell. I’d pour this fragrance down the drain and use the bottle as a flower vase because that’s the only good use I see in it.

Just because this scent is most suited for women over 50 with highly noticeable moustaches it doesn't make it in any way unisex fragrance. Whole garden of roses that even stinkiest of ouds cannot break through, not mention any other less dominant scents listed in it's composition. The only time I can smell anything besides roses and dash of oud is after about 10 hours when it becomes skin scent. If you really love roses and nothing else scents - you're in luck here. Otherwise it's definitely not a safe buy.

I keep trying and trying these Aoud fragrances, but no matter how many I've tried, Aoud always smells like morgue to me. And this is no different, as soon as I applied it to my arm all I smell is dead decomposing body wrapped in plastic. I visited a morgue when I was about 5 years old and the smell still haunts me, all the perfumes with Aoud in it, bring me back to that place. Apologies to everyone who loves aloud fragrances.

Initially, I smell a definite rubber/plastic note followed by a very biting peppery patchouli. I get a hint of rose and oud, but most everything is drowned out by the first two notes on me. Ivory soap and leather on the dry down which I liked better than the opening. Just a suggestion of civet. Leans masculine to my nose. Interesting but not for me.

Very very masculine and very very gasoline. At first whiff I could make out the rose but it quickly got doused. Reminds me of the mechanic I used to date and would be a perfect biker scent but definitely an acquired taste. I didn't get any oud at all. Wear if you dare!

I think my skin doesn't like the iris or the tea in this. The oud is nice and I love the pepper note and occasionally the rose is wonderful . . . but mostly this smells medicinal and powdery on me. Like too old cosmetics. My skin doesn't seem to do well with iris.

Whew. Nope. I really don't like rose/oud combos. Not pleasant. Smells plasticky, metallic, blech. This came in a monthly fragrance sample kit, otherwise I never would've even tried it based on the notes.

Opens like soap you'd put in mop water. Very artificial green. Dries down quickly to rose & oud. Not for me.

really wanted to like this but there's some sharp undertone that is just Unpleasant. Sad!

For some reason, the house of Ex Idolo has always has a uniquely mesmeric hold on my attention as a perfume lover and reviewer. The company seems to utterly obsess over every aspect of the creative process, so much so that their total body of work consists of two perfumes: Thirty-Three and Ryder. Matthew Zhuk is the creative director behind the house, but I’m not quite sure if that also means that he’s the perfumer as well. They’re based out of the Mayfair district of London. Top notes of Thirty-Three include soft black pepper, candied mandarin, and caoutchouc (a kind of unvulcanized Indian rubber). Middle notes include Chinese white tea, Chinese rose, Taif rose, orris, and Damascus steel (an ambiguous note – I’m not sure if they’re trying to reference the damascenones that are largely responsible for the smell of roses, or actual Damascus steel as I certainly don’t detect anything metallic here). Bottom notes include rare, natural vintage ouds, aged patchouli, and heliotropin. It can be hard to venture out into new territory with the oud-rose combination as it’s already such a super-saturated market. But the more that I smell this, the more I really admire it. The overall structure, it will come as no surprise, is a traditional rose and oud perfume. The oud, at least according to the myth that has accreted around the advertising campaign, is supposed to have been aged for thirty-three years beginning in 1980 before it was finally used to create this scent in 2013. What really makes this so wonderful are the scents resting at the base – or, rather, surrounding it. First, there’s an slight spicy black pepper that adds aromatic lift. There’s also the barest hint of the candied mandarin zest, which doesn’t make it citrusy at all, but adds a kind of muted, subtle fruitiness without the overall composition at all sweet. Lastly, the caoutchouc really supplements the oud beautifully. You really can distinctly smell it, but it’s not at all screeching or intrusive at all, like it might sound. The oud is already a bit on the funky side (though it’s certainly no Rania J.), and while you would think would make it even more so, the rubber note ends up just giving it a bit of a simultaneously creamy and sour edge, which I’ve never quite experienced in an rose-oud. As with almost all rose-ouds, it dies on the skin as a woody, herbaceous patchouli. As is probably clear from my description this is not an overly feminine perfume at all (unless you’re a vulgarian and think that anything with roses should only be worn by women). If judged by traditional standards at all, most would probably say it leans masculine, but like almost everything is could easily be worn by women. It comes in one size: a 30 ml bottle for $120 USD. Despite the relatively inexpensive price (at $4 USD per ml), the oud smells as real as anything I’ve ever smelled before. If this were any other type of perfume, the price per milliliter would put me off at the start; but knowing that rose and oud are two of the most expensive perfumery ingredients on earth, and especially considering the absolutely stunningly quality of this perfume, I think Ex Idolo could have easily charged twice as much for this and no one would have blinked an eye – especially not oud connoisseurs. If the price still puts you off, I would make the recommendation of trying Tiziana Terenzi’s Gold Rose Oudh side by side with this one. The differences are subtle but clearly present, however the only way you can tell much of a difference between them is by smelling them carefully for several minutes. I also have the sneaking suspicion that at $165 (the price for the Tiziana Terenzi, 100 ml), they’re probably not using real oud, either, however whatever they do use is a superior dupe. The Tiziana Terenzi does last a good deal longer on my skin too, whereas Thirty-Three lasts for about five to seven hours. If you think you’ve smelled one too many rose-ouds, but you still have a soft spot in your heart for them like I do, certainly sample this. There’s really something enchanting about it. Post Scriptum (and only marginally on topic): While Thirty-Three was really a kind of a revelation when it comes to rose and oud fragrances, I’m sorry to say that my experience with Ryder, Ex Idolo’s only other current perfume, was a magnificent disappointment. It has a couple of reviews online with people raving about its big, bold amber with twelve hours’ worth of longevity. When I sprayed it on my skin, there was nothing big about it. It smelled almost exactly like Serge Lutens’ Ambre Sultan – a ceder-heavy amber that with noticeable vanillic notes and labdanum, but mostly a big blast of pencil shavings. What I was even more disappointed by was the strength and projection, which seemed to be almost naught as soon as applied to my skin. I left a short comment on that reviews for that page asking if anyone had a similar experience with it, and I’d like to ask here again as well. I realize that I could just be mostly anosmic to it, though that is rare. If anyone has any comments, about either Thirty-Three or Ryder, please feel free to e-mail me and share, as I might not necessarily see them if they are posted to this review board.

Thirty Three is a phenomenal perfume. I remember having bought it in 2013 and also immediately secured a second bottle. I ALWAYS blind buy my perfumes based on the information in fashion magazines (Vogue Paris [as it then still was called], Vogue US, Harpers Bazaar US and 'W' also based in the US) while I am situated in the Netherlands. I loved the perfume totally and still do of course. with interest I have read the reviews here. the [thèn] 33-years old Chinese Oud Oil was what attracted me in the first place and I have always encountered such Ouds also in Montale perfumes, even if it is contrary to what a lot of people say about Montale. I have always known he uses real oud in his perfumes, be it in micro quantities. yet this perfume contained this rare 33-years macerated and riped Chinese Oud Oil and if I remember correctly, also Rose Oil from China and as it was specified, from a White Rose. then of course the Taif Rose. well I am a Rose person. only this already had stopped me in my tracks. the Caoutchouc I had completely forgotten. but not the Metallic Note which I found endlessly compelling. as a gay man I have always worn Ultra Feminine perfumes, the louder the better (Montale but also all the 1980s hookers bc I was 23 when that decade begun ...). I read characterisations like 'heady', a 'heavy hitter' and a rather present perfume in the previous reviews and those were exactly the denominations I always loved my perfumes to have. whereas, also mentioned below, the Oud precisely imposes in its softness, yet endurance and with this rich woody profile, an Intense Dual Waltz with the Roses. a softness gathered due to the long ripening-process it had endured. (exactly what I always read in Ensars musings about oud). the Pepper, Caoutchouc, the Metallic Notes (genial), the Tea and the Iris give the perfume its austerity and exemplary character. what in 'kafkaesque'.com became denounced, as he really didn't, couldn't bear the Metality of the perfume, the Metallurgy, is precisely the feature I find so compelling. it draws the perfume fully in the Montale Troposphere. I am glad to still have the 1oz30mL as backdrop yet also 20% in the Original first flacon (which the backdrop also is). it was also rather expensive but that has never stopped me in my tracks. (I am not financially rich as having been a Nurse for 45 years but the more rich with my perfumial collection and recallings of my perfume history & ... hysteria.) this is an exquise perfume not for the fainthearted. as am I, as I love to shock the hell out of either conventionalisms. this is truly a Masterpiece of perfume.

how all depends on the wearers skin, mood, time of year and day and specific momentaneous anosmia particularly, seemingly with [employed] parfumreviewers or even "nez's" for profession. would I fare on the kafkaesque review of this exceptional perfume the special, in 1980 harvested and until 2013 fermented oudh (hence the name "thirty three") would be simply ABSENT while there would be a note, so overpoweringly opaque in the first hour(s) that it blocked entire other olphactory sensations off the chart. reading this I wanted to yell: THIS IS THAT OUDH MONSIEUR. and what an impact this oudh has but I love it. this dense a wall of smell with all kinds of nuances and for me perfectly recognisable as a hell of an oudh. same reviewer said he neither smelt oudh with a 'by kilian' variant quickly to add 'others had the same sensation there'. the "33" meanwhile is doing fine. for hours and hours. a rose is first supportive of the all overbearing oudh note while it then develops as one of the major players. in the mean time we could have discerned the pepper, the [unusual ingredient] 'damask steel' and cognac note. what with this reviewer is so prominent: the (chinese oil of) rose and honeyed petals and roseconfiture I just smelled as the queen of flowers with also the taifi variant at that. I can eventually smell the caoutchouc (rubber) and hushes of peony too but with this perfume one reckons in hours. my sensation is this: it is just the magnificent and magnificently strong oudh, patchouli ('aged'), pepper, steel ! and all the way along in thousand incarnations the chinese rose oil with taifi roses which build the dense wall in "the beginning" of 4++ hours. that's all. but that is also worth the price of $ 120 for 30 ml. "Lucky Scent" gives as ingredients: "Soft black pepper, Candied mandarin, Caoutchouc, Chinese white tea, Chinese rose, Taif rose, Orris, Damascus steel, Rare, natural vintage ouds, Aged patchouli, Heliotropin". it is a marvel.

عطر 33 من الدار البريطانيةEx Idolo اسم العطر او الرقم له ارتباط بالعود المستخدم في هذا العطر فكما هو مذكور استخدمت الدار عود مستخرج ومعتق منذا اكثر 33 سنه طبعا هذا الامر فيه جانب تسويقي وفي نفس الوقت فيه جانب تميز ولكن دعونا نجرب العطر ونحكم. فالعطر كما هو واضح قد شمل مجموعة من المكونات التي تشترك فيها كثيرا من عطور العود اقصد (العود وبالباتشول والروز تجتمع دائما في كثير من عطور العود) شخصية العطر لاتختلف كثيرا عن العطور التي حوت هذه المكونات وربما عندما تجربه قد تشبهه باحد العطور ولكن الامر الرائع في هذا العطر هو جودة المكونات ورائحة العود الرائعه الفخمه بجانب روائح الروز الطائفي والصيني الطبيعية مع لمسة الباتشول الناعمة في هذا العطر هؤلاء هم اللاعبون الرئيسيون في هذا العطر مع لمسات خفيفه وناعمة من رائحة الميتاليك ورائحة اليوسفي في بداية العطر ورائحة الفلفل الاسود الناعم في البداية ايضا العطر بالرغم انه شرقي واحتوى على العود الا انه ناعم غامض رومنسي فخم رائحة العود في هذا العطر رائعه تشعر بجودتها وهي اكثر ماشدني ورغبني في هذا العطر عندما ياخذه العطر وقته بجانب روائح الروز، محبي رائحة الوورد الطائفي والورود بشكل عام الممزوج بدهن العود المعتق ولمسات من الباتشول برائحتة الترابية مدعوين لتجربة هذا العطر. . ماذكرت اعلاة هو راي الشخصي اذا كنت تشترب عطور عود كثيره فانا انصحك انت تجرب العطر قبل الشراء ملاحظة عبوة العطر صغيره وبالامكان ضمها بكف اليد وهي تبدوا اصغر مما هو عليه بالصوره. جمال الرائحة 7.5/10 تفرد الرائحة (تميز برائحته ولم يشابه عطور اخرى ) 5/10 الثبات والفوحان لم يختبرا بعد

For a second, i thought this was identical to Arabian Oud's Majestic Special Oud. Instead, i would qualify this as something that can be disguised as any of Montales 573 oud bottles(ok, i'm exaggerating). This has a very noticeable patchouli presence + this is heavy on the rosy side of things. People have been known to go into convulsions(in a good way) while wearing this scent and for that reason, i was left with no other choice than to test it out for myself. For me, it's a been there done that concoction. If you're a frequent fragrance tester such as i am, you can probably empathize with the said statement. If oud is your arena, i would definitely recommend this. Robust sillage and good enough longevity makes this a winner for oud lovers.

If I did not have a few Rose/Oud frags already I would buy this one. It starts out with a very distinct rose/oud. heavier on the rose. What I like here is that the rose is fresh and almost soapy but not quite. The oud is not heavy and the patch is not dirty. There is an underlying bitter note on my skin which might be the metal note. Very interesting smell. While the rose is a little feminine everything else to me is unisex or maybe even a little masculine. Lasts five hours or so and sillage is more than a skin scent but still polite.

I've tested my fair share of Oud/Rose fragrances now and frankly I'm getting a tired of the staggering array of them out there. This goes on pretty deep and stays that way but the rose in the opening hour or so, is quite unpleasantly floral and rosy for my taste. However the drydown reveals quite an elegant scent of rose, iris, patchouli and Oud which definitely has more magic when it develops. Great quality and longevity, projection etc... A good outing generally but I can afford to be more particular with so much choice out there.

Opens with a sharp rose-oud-mild patchouli (distinct) notes. Dry-down is a little masculine leaning but VERY realistic, high quality, powdery-jammy-creamy rose fragrance. If I didn't have any other rose-oud perfume, I would have definitely bought this for its high quality ingredients. Nothing special w.r.t. novelty, but the quality ingredients are exceptional. I didn't get the natural rubber-metallic notes on my skin. Quite heady fragrance though! More than two sprays will be offensive to others within close proximity.

EX Idolo Thirty Three is a beautiful rose and oud combo, if you if you apply this on your left hand and Sospiro Duetto on your right hand you would not be able to tell the difference. Duetto is hard to get but Ex Idolo only have two fragrances in there line up but this is a twin brother to Duetto and easy to get. The fragrance world is flooded with Rose & Oud combos but this one is done right!!! Scent 9/10 Longevity 8 to 12 hours Scent Trail 7/10, 2 to 3 feet trail.

It does smell like Montales Black Oud when it first hits the skin. I happen to like Black Oud very much. This, well, this is far superior to black oud. This is simply one of the best, if not the best, rose oud fragrance I've come across, and I probably have a dozen of them. 33 is a dark rose but much sweeter than black oud. And the projection and longevity are stellar. Just my opinion but a blind buy of this will not result in regret unless you just don't like oud.
