Atlas Fever

Ex Nihilo - Atlas Fever, took me back to my childhood. First sniff was very nostalgic for me. The combination of the different ingredients seem so familiar to me but also so unique. Never smelled something like this before, at least for a while. Last time when I was seven or eight, I guess. I can't clearly tell but I think it's the Oak within the combination of the woody notes in addition to that creamy and clean vanilla note. It's not that penetrant and aggressive vanilla. It's just clean. It's subtle. Atlas Fever has been called "Lactonic" by few reviewers , which is understandable. The vanilla / tonka leans to have a milky side. On the other hand, I don't get bothered by the "overwhelming" vanilla note, as a lot of people mentioned before. It's way more than a simple basic vanilla bomb. In my personal opinion it's a well-blended unique work of art. Literally artistic. When I close my eyes and smell it, I immediately imagine myself in the middle of a forest, outside of a wooden house with a smoking chimney. It starts to drizzle and all the woody aromas fly around in the forest. There joins a bit of a vanilla from the inside of the house. Perfect picture. Appreciate Ex Nihilo for that remembrance. For me, Atlas Fever is the best from Ex Nihlio’s collection and it’s apparently Drake’s signature scent, so I’m doing it for Toronto. It opens as a cross between a few other fragrances: it has the nutty, rubbery vanilla of This Is Her, with the lactonic sweet cinnamon of Milk+ mixed with the smoky, peppery caramel of By The Fireplace/Ameer Al Oudh Intense and Eternal Oud. Atlas Fever is what I wanted Blonde Amber to be. But Atlas Fever is sooo much better than any of the aforementioned - there’s just one down-side - it projects for 2 hours only, then I don’t notice it anymore as it’s gone. I’m sure it lasts longer on fabric, but on my skin at least, it declines very quickly. During those first 2 hours, I asked my Torontonian colleagues to “smell me to see what Drake smells like” and they weren’t expecting Drake to smell so sweet. In short, Atlas Fever is a creamy caramel fantasy of toasted nuts with frothy warm milk sprinkled with cinnamon and black pepper with a smoky praline base. It’s a rich, chewy-smooth gourmand unisex dream. The dry-down brings a gun-powdery, sooty amber. But it doesn’t last on skin for more than 2 hours, so that’s my deal breaker.

This is my favourite woody vanilla at the moment. Lots of woods, warmth, a bit sweetness and incence. Incence note is not too strong (i dont like too much incence) and I personally don't smell berries (i guess they are somewhere in the background to balance the scent). Overall a good cozy fragrance to wear, if you want something conforting and warm for the cold weather... sitting at home, whatching rain or snow through the window. For me it is unisex, perfecty wearable for women. But if you prefer very feminine scents, then i suggest you to try before buying a bottle. Strong, longlasting, i can smell it on myself many hours before it fades (and this is unique, because i tend to go noseblind to a lot of scents).

From start to finish, this is a beautiful beast. I find the vanilla very powerful, so those who are not fans should avoid this one.The sandalwood is high quality and wafts majestically throughout the many hours this one stays on the skin and in the air. The red berries might remind people of some other opening notes in some high end fragrances, but I find them subtle yet powerful, a breeze rather than a gust. I do not find the tonka to be all that powerful, but for me, in this particular case, this is good because the other notes are what makes this one stand out. I could wear this one throughout the year, but because of its sillage it might not be perfect for work. Ex Nihilo has earned my 5/5 fragrance.

I smelt this in harrods and it blew me away, my 2nd favourite fragrance ever. This opens with some smokeyness but drys down to a lactonic and creamy vanilla which is heavenly, there is also a realsitic wood note which adds a lot to the fragrance. Ex nihilo as a whole is an amazing brand as a whole with fragrances such as Blue Talisman, Brompton Immortals and Chandigarh express. Peformance is pretty good and is not an issue. Overall this is an extremely good and unique fragrance which I would reccomend to anyone. Smell: 9.9/10 Peformance: 8.5/10 Bottle: 9/10 Overall: 9.8/10

My nose perceives Atlas Fever as a gorgeous floral skin scent with woody undertones. The first time I took the paper strips home I wondered for the longest time which perfume I tried at the store smelled this beautifully, because I couldn’t relate the dark masculine bottle and the name “fever” to such a pretty, soft and intimate scent. It’s quickly becoming one of my favorite skin scents and I’d classify it in the same family as You Fleur, Meant to be Seen, and maybe Musc K. So yummy and sensual.

I finally added Atlas Fever to my collection — a fragrance I’d been dreaming about an year. The opening absolutely terrified me -it was so harsh that I thought I’d made a huge mistake. But after an hour... I completely fell in love. It turned into something unique, warm, addictive, and incredibly comforting. I couldn’t stop smelling my wrists. What started as a shock ended up becoming a new favorite. Long lasting with a moderate sillage ❤️

Got a sample from Ex Nihilo Boutique. The insert says it will remind you to vintage guitar wood 🎸 I don’t know if I am influenced by reading that but that’s exactly what it smelled like to me. Like berries on top of a vintage acoustic guitar. Yet to check performance and other stuff, need to wear it out properly.

This is a very unique scent, I haven’t smelled anything similar before. It’s a woody vanilla that is slightly marzipan-like because of one of the notes, which I think is the narcissus. It’s completely unisex, and I really like it even though I’m not someone who usually enjoys vanilla.

Slightly fruitti woods... Guaiac like, and woods with fruits then silenced with vanilla & creamy sandalwood. I really like the addition that the vanilla added to the smooth sandalwood and made it extra creamy sandalwood with fruiiti woods hiding the guaiac & incense notes. Beautiful.

Love at first sniff. I almost love it as much as Dior Addict 2002. It’s the type of smell you keep on smelling your own wrist. The pink pepper is gorgeous and it lasts forever, mostly on clothes. It’s a shame it’s so crazy expensive but hey, you’ll need only one spray a day.

I sampled this from lucky scent and I loved it! Then bought a 100ml bottle from Bloomingdale’s cause lucky scent don’t have the 100ml size. The perfume doesn’t last as long as the sample does and either does the projection. Not sure why!

Tonka is at least as present as with Armani Code Profumo with a peppery cinnamon-like woody note as with Spicebomb. A precious fragrance that goes well with the holiday season. Fragrance 8.5/10, Longevity 8/10, Sillage 8/10, Flacon 8/10

I’ve just acquired Atlas Fever, after being intrigued by it some time ago. It’s woodsy and creamy and licked by lovely vanilla and tonka, which makes it addictive and dreamy for me. The narcisse is incredibly elegant.

Amazing milky creamy almondy opening that dries down to yet another sandalwood scent. Amazing staying power but the drydown is very disappointing to me.

An absolute love. You’ll have an 8+ scent bubble with this that you won’t get tired of. Smells like a baby’s skin but better.

iGamebreaker (below) mentioned that there is a nostalgic quality to this fragrance that takes him back to his childhood. I definitely agree, getting a similar nostalgic sense from Atlas Fever - I can't place it. There's something about it that reminds me of sticker books, or colouring in, or something like that- its not a 'gluey' gummy scent - its something to do with the incense smell. It does take me back. Maybe a scent from a school classroom, or something at my parent's house, back in the day,... That said, the fragrance is a nice unisex blend that pretty much anyone could enjoy. Although the lactonic note which is present during the first hour of wearing makes me feel a little sickly when I catch it. The dry-down is nice- woody, incense with still that hint of vanilla. But is it full bottle worthy?.. I'm not yet convinced.....not yet,...

#1768 in my “Tour de Fragrance” I compared this decant side-by-side with Electimus “Jupiter.” Despite different composition they have a very similar vibe that I love, but of course the Jupiter runs half the $200+ price tag of this Ex Nihilo. This is a good quality quality, attractive woody-incensey scent, love the strong Atlas cedar note, but I own better and it’s not a "must have" for me at this price. Good luck and Good Hunting! Update: 8 hours after I applied this I had a very cute barista arm’s length say, “Omigod, I just want to eat you!” To which I responded, "Lookin’ forward to it!” Obviously I am reconsidering purchasing this. ; )

Very strong to a start, but evolves into a creamy sandalwood! I’ve had it on for about 10 minutes now and I think I really like how it has turned out over this short period of time? It’s truly an incredibly woody vanilla, with just a hint of incense and something else that I just can’t detect... Probably the Narcissus flower? Definitely unisex! Suitable for both work and more festive occasions. Very cozy, warm and creamy for the cooler seasons. Will probably not buy a full size though (I have a 2,5ml test atm), since the price tag is so high and I have other woody vanillas that I prefer, such as DK Cashmere & Palo Santo.

Edit: coming back here in the colder months to say Atlas Fever is an absolute banger of a cold weather fragrance. It contrasts beautifully with the frigid arctic air. There's *just* enough something in the way of uniqueness that made me love it. velvety narcissus? oak? It smells and feels very luxurious. the bottle is heavy and the aromizer is sumptuous. the presentation represents Ex Nihilo well. Eternal, leans masculine. Atlas Fever is velveteen wood cabin + syrupy vanilla. beautiful, but best suited for cold days!

Meld the spicy vanilla of Sultan with the syrupy wood smoke of By The Fireplace, add a hint of aromatic florals, and you get this gem! Not quite a gourmand, but certainly decadent! This is a cool weather fragrance fit for staying in or going out. Expect this to take you on a journey from first blast to dry-down, when it settles into its own. Certainly fully-bottle worthy if you like your vanillas complex, but for the (current) price tag, you can find other very lovely spiced and smoky vanillas for far cheaper.

So creamy and long lasting milky perfume with floral touches. I loved it except for it so reminds me of Bianco Latte by Giardini di Toscana with its almondy, marzipane like almond milky drydown. So similar to it though Atlas Fever is more woody and not having so much syrupy and bitter milk feeling like Bianco Latte has. If I didn’t know the Bianco Latte this would have frlt unique but I don’t think worth the full bottle except that you are looking for a good niche milky marzipan perfume. Still so good.

Sweet confection like woody scent. The scent opens with pink berries, slight incense and guaiac wood. As it develops, we get vanilla, tonka beans and narcissus. The perfume settles on a semi synthetic base of oak, sandalwood, cedar and an ambroxan like molecule. The unisex scent has moderate to strong sillage and very good longevity. Overpriced for what it offers. Nice, but more crowd pleasing rather than artistic. Enjoy!

Opening half hour is pretty wonderful & gives a great aura. After that time frame, the interest waned for me as it started to become just nice but forgettable. Worth trying for sure as it does smell good, there just wasn't anything to wow me about it.

This fragrance is a very milky and sexy scent. But the red berries in the fragrance does not have alot of presence. This can be worn fore special occasions, where you are trying to get a good impression. I can see why Drake uses it.

The opening smells like I layered Nishane Ani with Zadig & Voltaire This Is Her! Gradually, it turns into This Is Her with incense. It's beautiful, but when I saw the price, my eyes rolled!

Very smooth lactonic vanillic woods...reminds me of Lubin Korrigan, very beautiful and pleasant scent. Sooo cozy, for the first days of fall and winter!

This smells like a straight up vanilla candle. On my skin, the woody notes are very faint, and I don't get any incense or narcissus at all, just... scented candle. It's not a deep or very realistic vanilla, and even if you like vanilla fragrances (as I tend to do, but more complex than this), I don't think this is worth the hefty price tag.

not worth the price for a middle of the road woody/vanilla scent. safe, pleasant with its fruity floral hints. appropriately narcissus for narcissists. ok, maybe that is a bit harsh while this ex nihilo is anything but harsh. i have thrown my money away more foolishly and probably will do so again.

Very first impression: bacon, an unfortunate result of the smoky incense and wood. But after a short while that dies down and it’s just a woody smoky vanilla. It’s fine when I get passed that weird opening. I wish the berries were more prominent.

Black pepper bomb. Smells like black pepper and black pepper, some more black pepper...and a little caramel maybe. Insane projection. My nose is not compatible with this, clearly.

To me this smells exactly like the white azzaro chrome. Not worth the price

First vanilla/gourmand that I’m actually okay even contemplating.

The fruity smoky opening was cute but then it just dries down to a faint generic woody vanillin, much better true vanillas out there. Seeing the milk by commodity comparison makes sense to me as it also has that incense note that just seems to always take over and that I find becomes more and more cloying and headache inducing with time so I'll pass on this one.

Writing this review for my own record because it’s been sitting in my “to test” forever - idk when or why it was added. This is a sharp sandalwood, with a synthetic amber bomb bottom (like mancera instant crush) that makes it (to ME) totally unwearable and headache inducing

I did not enjoy this smell. It is okay upon spraying but the aftermath is headache inducing. It smells very synthetic, I haven’t smelt this since 2017 and I can still remember how horrific it was. Eventually, I ended up using it as toilet spray.

I found it a bit more masculine than I anticipated. On my skin, it leans heavily into smoky woods, and I was hoping for a bit more of that vanilla warmth to balance it out. It’s not a bad scent by any means but I’m a little disappointed.

I don't find Atlas Fever exquisite. Too much vanilla sweetness for me! I do not get the incense at all. I do get pink pepper and gaiac, in abundance.

Maybe I'm nose blind to this, because to me this is not projecting very well nor is it strong to my nose. I'll try again later and see if I notice a difference (I had been sampling different fragrances before I got to this one so I'm assuming it's olfactory fatigue- and if that's the case why am I writing this now instead of later when I revisit?)... but anyway, for now, I do get the red berry fruity opening, and when it dries down- I get a very faint smell. A little sweet, but still very nice. I will be trying again soon. If what I smell is correct, then I'd still say it's a very nice fragrance. I'd say full bottle worthy. Edit: After coming back to my sample the next day, I am detecting more of a soft woods with a vanilla to smooth it out. For someone who isn't a fan of vanilla too much, this is really nice and almost creamy and comforting. I would love to wear this on a cold fall day with a sweater, maybe in a coffee shop or somewhere warm reading a book. Those are the vibes I'm getting. The only drawback is that the sillage I'm getting is very intimate. I'm one of the 25 people who rated it as such, and since I can only smell it when my nose is on my forearm, there's no way I can test the longevity unless I sprayed it on a shirt and came back to it later.

Bought the 50ml for quite a nice discount when I was in Singapore. So given that I got quite a bargain, I'm not that upset with the bottle's performance (on me) in relation to its profile. Regardless of my skin, I tried this bottle on in the currently abnormally hot, but regularly humid, summer of Singapore and in the drier 80 degree of Jersey, the longevity is just the same; moderate. Give it 5 hours on my skin and you'd basically have to cuddle me to smell it. Even so, if you like fragrance that's a crowd pleaser with notes of berry, vanilla, and incense that is fit for the fall but still don't want to smell like any other, this may be the bottle for you.

OMG! I just got my occasional luckyscent sample order and damnnnnnnnn... I remember smelling this at Saks in Chicago last month so i wanted a proper sample. This is why I mainly deal with niche, not linear at all.. this stuff takes me a journey and stays on skin 12+ hours. Even there after all the hand washing. Crazy. The smell is just addictive. Definitely agree with feminine-masculine scale being right in the middle. I’ve never smelled anything like this and NO it doesn’t smell anything like Fuckin Fabulous by TF.... it smells like Ex Nihilo made a unique scent . Amazing and full Bottle otw

Just recently acquired this one and it’s really good, someone mentioned it was similar to Gris charnel extrait and I agree has similarities but also with a subtle spiciness similar to FDB Cavort. I don’t get all philosophical and talk about journeys through wearing but if you want a banging vanilla scent with some smoky incense with the usual refinement of ex nihilo then get this one or at the very least test it. Was a blind buy for me (at a good price) and I’m really happy with it.

I like this one, although it's not my particular favorite from this house. I do enjoy that you can mix and match almost all the fragrances from this house to concoct your own creation. Although at the price points I'm not doing that lol. This one is a very dope, creamy, sweet sandalwood, my biggest caveat with it, however, is that the temperature needs to be at least 55° c or below; anything higher and it smells like cheap Play-Doh

I’m wearing this currently, and I might be tripping but to me this is very similar to gris charnel extrait. I haven’t looked for this comment so take it with a grain of salt when I say I haven’t seen anyone talk about this. Good scent so far, I don’t mind it being similar to GCE. I say similar because to me this shares the same dna but with different notes, definitely more vanilla heavy on this one.

• Atlas Fever is something between Zadig Voltaire This is Her or Just Rock and Maison Francis Kurkdjian Grand Soir. • It remainds more Zadig, because Grand Soir is bold amber and not that lactonic, but they all has one type of strong tonky sweetness. • Atlas woodiness, tonka and little juiciness of redberries makes it much more interresting! • Three tasty gourmand choices. :)

First impression on skin. Sweet woods. Better than the number 1 and 2 comparisons, commodity milk, and basilica by Milano Fragranze. Elevated designer vibe. If you have experience with the elevated Dior fragrances, it's in that universe. Very nice and has mass appeal. Lots of synthetics but woven with skill and care Scent 83/100 Perfomance TBD

This is the big brother of The Tragedy of Lord George. Atlas fever learned about life, gave up alcohol and cheap soap, became more thoughtful and eco-friendly. Perhaps the tragedy of Lord George is that he has such a more aristocratic and wiser brother who will inherit the mansion with wood and bush.

y'all I saw this comment down below and just wanted to add this does not smell exactly like soie malaquais, like not even in the slightest. like they are not even from the same family. soie malaquias is a soft creamy shampoo-y scent, while this is a deep woody ambery incensy scent. just a heads up.

Got this as a sample . I do not like vanilla which was prevalent on me as well as an incense smell. After ab out 10 minutes the vanilla faded and the woody scents beacame the dominant notes and I fell in love with it. I just have to decide if I want to deal with vanilla for a bit................
