Fleur Narcotique

Ex Nihilo Fleur Narcotique smells less watery than Lust in Paradise (LIP), from the same brand, in the opening but it also turns into a floral lotion as well. I mentioned the opening of LIP is like “the smell of light pink petals steeped in cool water, with litchi or some fruit dropped and soaked in the water as well. When infused, the water is used to make a nice floral lotion." This has that vibe, except there is peach and more dewy bright orange blossoms than the pink petals steeped in the water. A musky, floral-infused lotion is what this is for the life of the fragrance until the end. It’s a little past intimate, low moderate, and very feminine. It projects more in the opening. I had it listed as okay for the longest because of the price point, but have moved it to a like because it's still done very well for what it wanted to accomplish. Now love. However, if you need something that is more projecting and punchy especially in the opening, with a woody muskier texture and soft vanilla musk dry-down, PDM Valaya would probably be a better choice. For me, I don't prefer the constant tease of an impending headache, so Fleur Narcotique works better for me. Every time I do wear this back to back, it oddly makes my throat sore? Not itchy like I want to cough, but just soreness. Like it hits the front of the inside of my throat real different, then goes away when I take a break. So I guess I'll just have to space out my wears. It helps spraying something sweet, like Devotion Intense, on another part of my body. The freshness and sweetness mixes beautifully in the air and solves the weird throat issue lol.

Truly a cautionary tale to not be led by reviews and sample fragrances for yourself. I had anticipated this being a generic designer fragrance profile fruity-floral, definitely not warranting of the price tag and, on paper, it is. However, on skin I LOVED this. I had an incredibly helpful SA at Ex Nihilo who insisted I wear this on skin throughout the day to appreciate the fragrance before purchasing and I'm so glad I gave it a proper go. It certainly feels ethereal, like a veil of white florals. I understand the 'clean' aspect but wouldn't pidgeon-hole it as a clean fragrance. I don't get the (off-putting) metallic/screechy/soapy notes of popular 'clean' smelling fragrances on the market. I'm looking at you Blanche, Valaya... This is a great floral fragrance for those who aren't necessarily inclined towards 'developed' or more robust florals. FN's florals are diluted by the sheer musks in the base to be overall a care-free and effortless wear, like a cool breeze through a jasmine field. The opening fruits are lost quickly and I would appreciate better projection and longevity for the price, but that doesn't really guide a fragrance buy for me, as this is extremely wearable and genuinely the sort of 'signature' fragrance I'd like for people to associate me with :D. I do believe it is a masterpiece of it's genre and understand the hype. DON'T be fooled by the Extrait though, the fruits smell RANCID to me.

Does it have flowers medically qualifying as narcotic? No poppy, no datura, no cannabis, even no tobacco, so no. Does it have the usual florals associated with a narcotic heady smell in perfumery? No night blooming jasmine, no tuberose, no narcissus or frangipani, so again no.. Did Quentin Bisch manage to render peonies narcotic in Fleur Narcotique? Oh YES! For what is being offered today this is a Beautiful floral. You keep sniffing your wrists and coming back for more; so yes it’s addictive. Is it worth the price? Questionable. “They used quality synthetics” (Petalia, isoE-super and Evernil are obvious) but how expensive can synthetics be? “They hired Quentin Bisch”. Well he’s so brilliant but Lattafa hired him and Teriaq costs like $50. “It is so unique”. Is it? I love it BUT it is not unique enough. Remember OG Chloe EDP and its flankers. That is another bright clean lychee-peony-rose on a musk wood base, very similar in direction although more about a soapy rose and at a fraction of the price. Will I get a full bottle? Probably not. I have a generous 10 ml decant that will probably last me my lifetime. Given it’s a strong performer (its persistence can be annoying on days you’re prone to a headache), I’m in my fifties and I have a large collection. If and when I run out of my decant I might get another decant. Definitely worth it.

I was introduced to this via a sample sprayed on a card, not having any familiarity with the brand prior to this other than having heard of them. I liked what I smelled of this, but what really got me, was smelling the card the next day...and the next... and the next...and the next... This remained strong and distinct for at least a week - and I fell head over heels for the dazzling peachy-floral-uplifting magic created by the most uber-talented wunderkind, Quentin Bisch! I ordered a sample so I could test this properly on skin and was happy to discover how beautifully it wears, and indeed lasts a significant amount of time! This is one at the top of my wish list, for sure, but I sincerely wish it wasn't SO damn expensive!! The price is what holds me back, because while I love this unquestionably, I'm debating whether it projects enough. For this kind of price I want serious beast-mode performance ;-) But all that aside, Fleur Narcotique is everything I look for in a 'fruity floral' (God help me - I just LOVE this genre!): the peach and litchi are prominent and the notes all dance so beautifully together. Like Tilia, this one is mood-lifting, bright and happy! Now, If only they'd knock a few $$$ of the price :-)

An absolutely lovely, bright, clean peachy-fruity floral. Well-rounded and nothing offensive in the composition to me--not soapy, not bitter, not tacky. It's an unmistakably fine fragrance. At over $300 CDN for a little 50 ml bottle (1.7 oz), and bearing similarity to other fruity florals on the market now (albeit inferior ones), I'm not sure it's an expense I can justify. It does make me quite happy, though, and such impressive longevity! I'm surprised to find myself considering it. UPDATE: After about 6 hours wearing it (with high body temperature), I did find the fruity sweetness distracting. My husband also commented several times that he hoped it would get more subtle very soon. It may have been my high body temperature that cooked the fruity-sweet notes--I'll try again on a cooler day. UPDATE 2: Still mulling this over. Tried it on again. Still love it, but still the occasional sense of something not sitting well--strangely, I get the slightest nausea in waves. My husband (not knowing what I'm testing) once again grumbled it was s smell he couldn't ignore. I'm wondering if it's something in the compounds. And the longevity is certainly epic on this one! UPDATE 3: Bought it!

I wasn’t impressed with this at all the first time I smelled it. I thought it was just another fresh & fruity floral.. & to a certain degree it is. The profile is not exactly groundbreaking, but the longer it sits on your skin, the more magical it becomes. It has that quality that a certain few fragrances have where the scent almost dances around you. It weaves on & around your body like a humid & light fog; producing excellent sillage without forcing itself. The florals & fruits together create a crisp & almost watery concoction that reminds me of early morning air in the dead of summer. The base notes add body & fullness; perfectly balancing the sweetness of the top & mid notes with the earthy & primal aroma of warm skin. The type of smell that ignites a need for closeness. It’s casual & sexy at the same time. Great for daily wear but will surely command attention. It reminds me of the type a fragrance that was popular in the early 00s & I love that.

I purchased this without even knowing it was by Quentin Bisch. It came out in 2014 and is standing the test of time. I smelled a sample of this a while ago and liked it but not enough to buy it. It was only when Blue Talisman went viral that I dug out my samples again and to my surprise I actually really liked it. White florals mixed with lychee and blended into an ethereal powdery dry down- smells super fresh and clean. This stuff last for days on clothes and 12+ hrs on skin-Not everyone’s cup of tea but I sort of gravitate towards this type of scent profile- along the same lines as Valaya and Delina but different. But as they are 10years apart. Quentin has homed his skills and has just got better and better at developing fragrances. Not worth the retail price tag but bargains can be found and great to have if you are an eclectic perfume lover.

At first, I think it smells okay and nice, and I’m not crazy about it; but somehow I can’t stop smelling it. I find myself sniffing it from the bottle, sniffing my arms, and when I think the whiffs is weakened, I then spray it more. It’s addictive like narcotics. Anyway, for someone who prefers fresh or clean scent, I find this is not ‘light’ like many reviewers said. This scent has a character, a sweet feminine floral, little bit tangy from the fruits. It’s a burst of whole notes; but it’s not indolic. Tanginess comes from the litchi and peach, not merely bergamot, this is what differentiate it from Valaya, who is more of citrusy. The salesperson said this has good longevity but in my experience, it doesn’t last too long, but I’d assume it’s because I just bought it. I’ll let it sit and hopefully it’ll become more potent.

Current obsession. Not normally a fan of rose or lychee & though this doesn't list rose among the notes there is a definitely a watery rosy vibe to this one though & very lychee forward & somehow I'm a huge fan of both here. There's something a bit sparkly & almost aquatic about it. It is just SO gorgeous. Smells like a super clean rich girl imho & that's what I aspire to be. The extrait is also so gorgeous, I may purchase that one next time. Super highly complimented even though the longevity & sillage isn't great (abt 2 hours before it turns into a skin scent for me) but I love it so much I'm happy to carry around a decant to reapply.

I initially thought it a generic fruity floral on paper, but it’s somehow unexpectedly stunning on skin and transforms throughout the day in a really lovely way. I’ve smelled plenty of lychee bergamot openings but the peach adds a really nice sweetness, and by hour six it’s this woody, almost slight ambery scent that’s intimate and alluring and great for evening. I don’t have anything else that does exactly what this does, but that full bottle price is still hard for me to justify. It’s also what I thought Valaya would be after seeing reviews, but Valaya is REPULSIVE on me lol it smells like toilet cleaner to my nose, on paper or skin.

This fragrance is stunning. It is reminiscent of Valaya, but with a fruitier, sweeter edge. Valaya is one of my all‐time favorites, and Fleur Narcotique feels just as captivating. It also reminds me of Chloe. I received a 2 ml sample from Saks during a fragrance‐buying trip, and it wore beautifully on my skin. Now I’m deciding whether to purchase the extrait or stay with the original, and I’m curious about how closely the two versions compare. I have a feeling this might become my next full‐bottle purchase. Fleur Narcotique is definitely a safe blind buy and a true complaint getter.

Pretty, fresh, floral, slightly fruity perfume. This is not offensive at all and I love wearing this to the office. It really doesn’t project and the scent bubble is close to the skin which is great for the office. The longevity is decent. This perfume makes me happy everytime I smell it on myself. I get how other people are saying it’s a generic smell, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad! I’m actually trying to find more perfumes in this family. Perfect spring time perfume. This is currently my signature scent. The only downside is the price point :(

Since I tried my sample of this, I can't think about any other fragrance. I think about the smell all the time and I physically crave smelling it. To me, its absolute perfection. Its fresh but not bitter or cold. Its juicy but not tutti fruity. Its floral but in a youthful and modern way. I am beyond obsessed. I have been trying to not wear it because I wanted this to be my wedding perfume, and I wanted to preserve the holiness of the scent memories... but I keep cheating and putting it on my favorite hoodie because sniffing it is my drug.

This scent is lychee, peony, jasmine and a hint of musk. It lasts until the next day, if I spray it in my hair-nape of the neck. It reminds me of Delina, PDM, without the sharpness of the rhubarb and much more subtle. It’s bright and juicy which delights you then pulls you in with the floral; not overpowering but still intoxicating. This is my signature daytime summer fragrance. “Summer breeze. Makes me feel fine. Rolling through the jasmine of my mind” *guitar solo* comes to mind, every time I smell this.

This is very much a Valaya’s summer friendly sister and although I own Valaya I’m getting this too as they are both different enough to work. The citrus in Valaya is a little screechy, Valaya is then a musky floral with a cosy sweater type vibe. This, the citrus is juicy, bright and sticks around longer than valayas. This drys down to a white floral with a bit of fresh juicy fruit and minimal musk. This is definitely more appropriate for warmer weather and lasts well without being overpowering.

This is the most feminine fragrance I have in my collection. I don’t wear it often, because I am a vanilla girlie. When it was new it would give me a slight headache because it was screechy. Now that it has macerated, it’s much more pleasant. It’s ultra feminine, beautiful, soft, and has beautiful wafts as you move around. This one sits closer to the skin on me. It’s also delightfully blended, it is its own genuine scent. A girly, fun, happy fragrance. Grab a sample before a full bottle.

This has never happened to me before but when I sprayed my sample on paper, I was hit with emotion that brought tears to my eyes. I thought of every strong, loving female role model in my life. My love for this scent thankfully also translates to my skin as well. It just does something to me emotionally that is indescribable. British Bake Off is my comfort show and this is a fragrance Prue Leith would wear and real ones will know that’s a high compliment, not anything to do with her age.

This is my niche version of Galata from Osmanli oud, but stronger, cleaner, and with far better performance. It opens with a delicate mix of pear and jasmine that feels like a breeze through a freshly watered garden. The powdery undertone is soft and refined, never childish, never loud, just like wearing a white silk blouse on warm skin. The performance? Excellent. It lingers for hours with a quiet, elegant trail. This scent feels like me, present, confident, but never loud.

Men fall over themselves to get to me when I wear this. This is a weapon of mass seduction with a radius of 100 feet. It is delicate in its nature, but has an amazingly strong and long lasting projection. I can only wear it in well aerated environment (ideally outside). So I am a gourmand girly through and through, but I appear to have a bit of a thing developing for white florals. First Valaya, and now Fleur Narcotique. They have a lot in common, though i think Fleur is a bit easier to wear- maybe it’s the omission of the aldehydes? I can wear this for a full day at work and still smell it at the end of the day. I had to buy a full bottle, I devoured my sample so fast!

I loooove fleur narcotique such an ethereal beautiful white floral fresh fruity scent. Peony is one of my favorite notes in perfumes and in this perfumes it’s just on another level a true masterpiec ofcourse by the master Quentin bisch. And this DNA is my favorite I own perfumes like valaya, levant, Torino 24 and they all have similar dna yet with different aspects. Obsessed is an understatement

Signature Quentin Bische fragrance, now on my second bottle, the sharpness of the lychee with the white florals is a masterpiece, yes the price is high but you can always get hold of discounted bottles from eBay and Notino. It only takes a few sprays and lasts and projects all day. I am a big fan of his fragrances and have several, if you like PDM Delina and Valaya then you will like this.

I love this. You will recognize a similar DNA in Valaya. This gives more of the floral and fruity notes and a little less of the musks that I detect in Valaya. This is absolutely beautiful, well rounded, well balanced and everything good about a fruity floral perfume. I actually believe I prefer this over Valaya, a little bit. Both are masterpieces of perfumery though.

Did you love Bois Imperial, another Quentin Bisch banger by Essential Parfums? Ever say "gee wiz, I wish this was a little more fruity and floral" when wearing it? Well do I have news for you! Fleur Narcotique is the one you want if so. Very similar scent profiles, but this one's got a little bit of fun sprinkled in. In fact, get BOTH! This is a wonderful combo.

A complete compliment-getter, I find this scent to be one of the few in my collection that were very memorable and noticed by others. This is truly a well-rounded signature scent, projecting as a quite dark floral for me personally making it a true signature scent. Would repurchase this down the line in my fragrance journey.

One of the most accurate perfume name ever 🌷 It’s indeed an addictive, true floral perfume. As a floral enjoyer, I find it beautiful and I really like how realistic and pretty smell it gives! Both white and pink flowers are mixed together and fruits add more juiciness and make the scent uplifting and happy :)

For some reason this reminds me of Neva winged lion from Alghabra Parfums it’s very close . The difference is that Neva is a beast and it lasts more than 12hrs. This one is more light airy in a way but super nice floral, like the name suggests. You love florals than this is a great spring/summer scent.

I do like this one a lot. Very light, fruity and floral. However, since I already have Valaya Exclusif in my collection, I don’t feel that I need to add this since they give a similar vibe. There are definitely differences... this one is more light and airy... but similar enough that I don’t need both.

I just got my sample and i must say that this is such a lovely perfume, but for me, at the moment, since i already own Valaya, is kind of redundant to have this one as well, the dry down is very similar to my nose, fleur narcotique being a little floral.Anyway, the perfume is a masterpiece.

I just received my Ex Nihilo discovery set, and immediately purchased a full bottle of Fleur Narcotic. What an intoxicating scent! I don't really know what else to say. It's fresh, it's sweet, it's smooth, it's happy! Can't wait to get my bottle and wear it all summer!

Bright and fruity floral. There are two very definite halves, a bold lychee which I love with a mossy base. Cant really pick out any middle notes but I can't help loving it. I don't pick up the plastic others are mentioning but it's a fairly uncomplicated fruity.

I absolutely adore this! It’s similar to Valaya but not a screechy. I feel like it’s the perfect base layer too; like you could layer this with a citrus fragrance and the projection would be 10 times better. Has become an absolute staple in my collection

This is yet another floral that for me, when I compare, is Xerjoff's La Tosca made right (the latter was too synthetic). Fruit notes here make the florals interesting and bright. It is just beautiful. One of the best of this kind I have smelt.

I’m in love with it! Definitely a clean-girl scent with a little bit of sharpness that adds attitude to the floral fruity scent. I like it! I disagree with calling it a common scent profile. The vibe is quite unique.

I like this perfume a lot. It’s very unisex. Would love to smell it on my boyfriend more than on me. This is a very good starter perfume for someone who is getting into niche perfumes. Very pleasant and safe.

This exactly smells like a brand named as Chakra (Turkish brand for clothing/bath products) which has a product for ironing clothes, name should be something flowery but exactly like this.

I found my signature perfume! Always get compliments when I wear it, both from men and women. Floral, fresh and musky, stays for many hours on the skin. Way overpriced though

Stunning fresh floral. Has definite presence without being beast mode like Guidance. I enjoy this scent in spring and less humid parts of the summer.
