Paname Palace

The ylang ylang is over powering and headache inducing. IT tries to be bright with the fig and rose florals, then dense with the donka and woods, and the ylang ylang adds a screechy unplreasent banana vibe to it. Its not good.

I dropped by the Ex Nihilo boutique in Los Angeles to pick up my long awaited arrival of Scarlet Sands and what do I see on the shelf? Paname Palace. Of course I had to get my nose on it. Mind you, this fragrance is slowly gaining hype in the fragrance community and I have to be honest, I'm left scratching my head a little. "This is it?!" was my first thought. It's a very underwhelming and confusing scent profile. Not one of the notes stood out to me as prominent. If I were to come up with a word that best describes this, it would be 'confused.' It lacks a defining identity which is very un-Ex Nihilo-like. It's like a very bland soup. Just throw everything in there and hopefully someone will drop $400 for it. I really don't know how else to describe it. Not impressed. Hard pass for me.

I just picked this one from Paris Boutique and let me tell you about it, simply amazing. This is a refined Parisian summer scent, fresh, slightly spicy up top, then it melts into a creamy fig + soft floral heart, and dries down woody-sweet with tonka and vetiver. What it smells like in simple terms: • Opening: bright citrus + pink pepper spice (clean but a little edgy) • Heart: creamy fig + rose (this is the signature—smooth, slightly green, a bit sensual) • Drydown: soft woods + tonka (warm, lightly sweet, elegant)  t’s very “Ex Nihilo DNA” smooth, polished, and airy, but not a loud statement fragrance. The fig gives it personality, but overall it’s pure luxury in a bottle

This smells nothing like the notes !!! Soapy creamy fresh Tanka !!! Sleeper !!!! Amazing !! Performance is great as well
