Vesper Glitz

What a fluffy cloud of comfort and velvety vanilla. Its opening is lightly fresh and mildly citrusy, tiny bit green, sunny and soft almost shy representation of florals- nowhere you will smell a pungent neroli note. I’d say it’s a masterfully mixed soft not-sweet vanilla, notes of mimosa mixed with a body-cream scent and sprinkled with stardust and modernity. How unusual to see this creation from Ex-Nihilo, which usually starts from a strong statement that no one dares to disagree with. This scent is almost asking for a permission to be on your skin - definitely spring- summer floral, the one that makes you smile. A crowd pleaser : if you are looking for a statement signature - it is NOT the one, but if I am looking for a pleasurable non invasive and non disturbing aura - that’s the one. It’s dry-down is a bit on a generic side , as if you used Lancôme or Dior Joy, certainly not unpleasant. Perfume for every day. I would love to see how it develops outside in the open air. Will write about it later. 2 days later: It suddenly daunted on me: (Dior Hypnotic Poison) minus (Bitter Almond) minus (Liquorice)= VG!!

Bought this on impulse a few weeks ago after smelling in Saks and absolutely loving it. Then while it was delayed in the mail for a few weeks, I came here to Fragrantica hoping the reviews would provide some satisfaction and a reminder why I love it at first smell. I finally received Vesper Glitz and am reminded why I can’t trust Fragrantica reviews! This perfume is just gorgeous!! Warm, delicate, and balanced. I would not have described myself as a neroli, or a ylang ylang fan before, but in this fragrance paired with the citrus and Jasmine it just gives the fragrance a bright, solar feeling. Paired with the nuttiness of the tonka, I just want to keep smelling this! I do see similarities to Libre, but more so the EDT. Vesper Glitz has none of the screechiness or syrupiness that Libre has. I also find it similar in feeling to Rolling in Love. If you love that warm, nutty floral feeling from Rolling in Love, you will also adore this.

This smells like sparkling sunshine in a field of yellow wildflowers- light and wispy. This is the smell of Julie Andrews twirling and singing ‘The hills are alive with the sound of music!’ It’s hard to pick the notes apart, everything is blended exquisitely. Ylang can often be thick and heavy. But, paired with pollen like mimosa here makes it feel lighter than air. A cool, lightly powdery vanilla dry down. I don’t find this to be similar to Libre at all. This is completely unique. I would consider this a masterpiece fragrance because of how the ylang and mimosa are used. While I feel this wears on the lighter side, I do receive compliments from arms length away. So it must create a bit of a bubble.

Very feminine, special and elegant. A sparkling beauty! It is quite fresh, kind of sweet floral, but it has something ethereal to it. I know it may seem like a standard designer floral, like somebody mentioned, from 2000s. But it is so much better and so much more than that. Performance is amazing. And it is addicting for anyone who gets to smell it. Seems thaf or is nicer to smell it on someone/your clothes rather than to wear it. Hard to compare it to something, but the quality and elegance are giving me Luis Vuitton vibes. Also, from my description it may seem like more suited for an older lady, but that is not true, it is great even for a very young woman.

Its truly a sparkly, fresh-ish yellow floral scent, with a hint of white flowers to fill the bouquet that sits atop some faint masculine touches of cedar wood. Its not a bright scent by all means, it’s not ‘vavavoom’ fresh. The pink pepper gives it a hint of spice and everything nice, but it is not overwhelmingly present. It adds a certain layer that elevates this from a floral bouquet to something more exciting, something warm and inviting. There is nothing offensive or overbearing about this scent, very office friendly too. Its signature safe in all of the seasons in my opinion, but it leans summer/spring.

Lovely. Did I also mention, lovely? It is always a good sign that after a sample ends I just got another sample. This scent is so unassuming, but in a good way. It's understated, but still alluring. Sweet florals, powdery a tad bit and there is just that something extra specialness that I want to smell more. A vanilla and tonka bean heavy fragrance that is actually smelling like one. In my view this is full bottle worthy. For people comparing this to Daisy Love, and Libre (which are very different offerings to start with) I'm not sure we are smelling the same things! ;0)

This is such an easy grab for sexy summer evening! Opens with modern (some might say "generic") white flowers that are blended smoothly with sparkly mandarin on top and dries down into Hypnotic Poison with non-indolic jasmine mix. Does really have a luxury roundness that Libre lacks and I also find it younger than Libre. No, this is not Tauer or Xerjoff or Lutens unequaled fragrance, but I just love Ex Nihilo for their comfortable wearability and massive longevity. I bought 100 ml without a second thought because I can wear Vesper Glitz anytime and anywhere.

truly beautiful. for me, same use case as something like musk therapy. though it does lean feminine, i love this for myself. it's like a clean soft shirt if it was turned into a fragrance, like musk therapy, but done differently. hard to describe, but it's a win for me. edit: i don't know why i compared it so much to musk therapy, it's really different. Vanilla floral is what i get, and if someone was clean, put together, and willing to wear a more feminine unisex fragrance, this would be what they're wearing. Fall time fragrance 100%.

Finally my search for a mimosa and yellow floral scent lead me to Vesper Glitz and I couldn’t be happier. Opens a bit strong but quickly melts into a sweet happy mimosa and vanilla with powdery but somehow also creamy undertones. It reminds me of pure sunshine, sipping champagne and carefree days under a sun hat. It’s not a trashy summer scent at all - it’s classy yet spritely, buoyant, leans youthful. It’s my summer scent and I can’t wait to wear it as the weather turns up.

Vanilla with yellow & white flowers. My sweater smells like sugar cookies the next day where I sprayed it. The scent seems to evolve, sometimes more floral other times more vanilla. Overall it's warm, sunshine-y, and ever so slightly soapy in the opening. It's a familiar scent, but definitely the best version of its kind. I just wish it projected more, especially for the price. I can never seem to smell Ex Nihilo scents on me unless I put my wrist to my nose. :(

A sunny, yellow floral - powdery mimosa, and yes, a little shampoo-like. I’m cautious of florals though this has a touch of sweet vanilla to ground it, but not enough to be considered gourmand. I find it flirty, playful, and feminine - the perfect fragrance for spring days and sun dresses or even summer cocktails and a girls’ night out. She’s fancy, but not formal. The price is astronomical, but if I find a good deal, best believe I’ll be snatching up a bottle.

Why is this voted so similar to YSL Libre? They have a similarities but they are not the same at all. This just feels more special. I like Libre don’t get me wrong but this has a big edge on it. Vesper Glitz is sparkling yellow florals, sweet neroli. Reminds me of a well dressed, beautiful French woman

Wow, this is gorgeous. I get a whole lot of tropical yellow flowers and it's just beautiful and almost beachy but also very classy. I seem to like Ex Nihilo fragrances, they work well on my skin. Sadly they are also quite pricey. That said, I'll probably pick up a bottle of this closer to summer time

One of my favorite perfume maybe ever! So well done, it’s long lasting, feminine and elegant. I would describe it as a sweet and powdery floral without being too overpowering or overwhelming smell. You can picture a beautiful and sweet lady in a very feminine corporate attire walking down the street

Went to Bloomingdale’s today to smell Ex Nihilo’s Lust in Paradise (wasn’t too impressed by it) and the lady at the counter recommended me to smell Vesper Glitz. When I smelled it, I love it. It kinda smells a little bit of a designer fragrance but I am addicted to VG.

Gorgeous transparent white floral on an airy ambery base. Vesper Glitz would be a great signature scent. Very easy to wear and crowd pleasing.

One of the only floral-heavy scents I love to wear. Perfect spring scent for me. Jasmine, wood, ylang ylang. Not cloying or too heavy.

An ethereal, glittering open is followed by a soft, sweet and powdery heart and dry down in Vesper Glitz. The ylang ylang and mimosa in this perfume receive the lightest of treatments; the fragrance literally floats around you, unanchored by anything heavy or dramatic. Which is unusual; Ylang can be very overbearing and intense, but it’s not here. The simplicity and lack of drama might sound childlike or juvenile, but again it’s really not. Something about Vesper Glitz brings to mind some classic fragrances, but here it’s like that style of perfume has been fully injected with air and made light and translucent as a bubble. It’s a lilting kiss of a perfume with its own gamine magic going on. Vesper Glitz is for someone who wants to wear a tropical floral but doesn’t want to feel worn by it. The sillage is pretty low, it wears fairly close to skin with maybe a 2 foot scent bubble. Vesper Glitz lasts about 7 hours on skin. Any time you want to feel pretty and light as air, this would be a great choice.

I love it and I don’t. Why do I love it? Because it’s light, ethereal almost. I love the subtle sweetness of the florals and though it veers on the powdery, it’s not a heavy powdery fragrance at all. Why do I not love it? It’s the Ylang in here that just bothers me to no end. It’s got an enormous presence (on my skin) and it obliterates the other notes unapologetically. I don’t like Ylang as a rule and in Vesper Glitz, I like it even less. In the dry down, it becomes more of an indolic Jasmine which isn’t bad per se but not my vibe. Longevity wise, this is decent. 5-6 hours and then some. However, I think that this is more of a day to day fragrance. Nothing more. It’s not necessarily special or unusual (like its name) and I think that I will pass on it. Sample on skin first!

For me - smells much better in cold weather. Even though yellow florals typically = tropical, I find the ylang ylang over-dominates the perfume and ruins it. The perfectly round, lightly sweet, floral balance is kept much better in an air-conditioned or <25 deg environment. I get the resemblance to Libre at first spray - in the air - but a smoother, butterier, rounded version. On my skin, in summer, dries down "generic sweet white floral", which is disappointing. I'll rotate this out for the colder environment. Scent: heavily dependent on weather for me, 8/10 in colder weather, 4/10 in summer. Polarity: Feminine all the way Projection: Strong Longevity: Average to good

This is so pretty ✨✨✨ And I love its name, Vesper Glitz, it evokes shiny, sparkly yellows and golds in the evening. With mimosa and ylang-ylang, a beautiful neroli note and sweet and powdery vanilla in the background...mmmmm, it is a charming fragrance! I am curious to see what this does in colder weather, on me, perfumes tend to shift in a different direction depending on the weather... Longevity here is very reasonable, 6-7 hours straight. The dry down is powdery but nothing heavy or obnoxious. I really like everything about this fragrance ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

This perfume gave me the same feeling as my mimosa fabric softener. I like mimosa in deep and soft and slightly sweet shades, not fresh like this. The creamy-sweet note of ylang-ylang and the mysterious note of neroli are overwhelmed by the orange here. I also recognise it from somewhere, but I'm not sure what it is. Towards the end, this citrusy aura disappears, but then there's not much of the perfume itself left. It's not bad, but I can't say it's good either. It is too sweet btw. It is shampoo-like. Wearable but never full bottle worthy...

I am a huge Ex Nihilo fan and this one is among my favorites. It starts off with a blend of mandarin orange, powdery pepper and slight hints of Mimosa. Ylang Ylang is always in the background, and gives this scent depth and warmth from start until the end. The vanilla comes through a bit later and provides the sweetness. Vesper Glitz is an elegant scent, almost too chic to wear casually. It is great to wear for a special occassion or on a date. Very beautiful scent with nice lasting power, would be happy to have this in my collection one day.

First impressions: floral amber with some powdery musky facets and a smooth tonka finish. Tonka is great when it's good quality and not overdone. It has some of the clean and classy girl esthetic. This is for a woman whose youthful (at heart or irl) and enjoys floralcy, but wants something modern. It's expensive but performance is good. Not super heavy or dense so it could be a good signature perfume. Longevity was around 7-8 hrs on skin. ------------------------------------------------------ Scent 70/100 Performance 75/100

Opens with a bright, lemon-lime citrus, anchored in vanilla which warms it up a little. I don't normally get into citrus, but this is soft and hybrid enough with the other notes that if you are also not a citrus fan, it is still quite nice. It quickly develops into a sweet floral with gentle musk - I admit I don't know what mimosa smells like so am not sure if that is what I am identifying - and in the very late drydown is almost a skin scent with a very delicate cedar and tonka. I find this to be elegant, light, carefree.

Upon initial spray, this smells like some designer bottle I could pick up at Shoppers Drugmart for $100. It’s disappointing. Smells like MJ Daisy or something. But the dry down is really nice. Soft, buttery yellow floral. Happy with it in the end. If you’re into designer, you’ll like this but it’s overpriced so just buy designer, and if you’re into niche stuff that smells different, don’t get this. I’m okay with having a travel size of this but I won’t be buying a bottle.

lovely mix of yellow and white florals and vanillic sweetness. strikes me as a very easy reach. it does kinda have a "designer-like" quality to it but i find vesper glitz far less boring than fleur narcotique which receives similar criticism. casual yet classy and feminine, i really appreciate vesper glitz for what it is.

I like this, it smells at once sparkling and citrussy yet womanly, refined and sophisticated. It smells like the colour gold, perhaps owing to the yellow floral notes. Usually, summery scents can smell a little juvenile. But this is a classy take on a solar citrus floral perfume. A great feminine summer release.

Ok so I'll admit that I'm a niche snob. 😏 I don't own very many designers. This i really like even though it does remind me of a "typical" designer scent! 🥰 I haven't looked at the price yet so we shall see.... For now, I'll keep testing! Edit: wish I would've gotten the 100mL instead of the 50mL.

Smells really nice but generic sweet floral designer type smell. What a rip off lol. Although I would consider picking up if heavily discounted. Gives me nostalgia, as another review said, smells like perfumes of early 2000's but more elevated.

I LOVE another scent by Ex Nihilo which I find refreshingly unique, so I was surprised how much this smelled like YSL Libre. Vesper Glitz is not a bad smelling fragrance by any means, but it just reminds me of many things I've smelled before. Feminine, generic, pretty. Doesn't speak to me, not going to purchase because I already passed by all those others that it smells like.

Reminds me of 100 other designer perfumes from the early 2000s. Maybe it is the ylang ylang + jasmine? Not bad, but not great or original. I'm sure you can get this for a fraction of the price, but because this scent is so common (and for me forgettable) I can't seem to place what they are.

It’s a playful, fun fragrance that reminds me of champagne bubbles and festive gatherings, like the Great Gatsby vibes. However, it lasts all of 5 minutes before it disappears. Too expensive to not be lasting long. Won’t repurchase for that reason.

To my nose this is 95% Libre edp, very Jasmine forward. The other 5% is mostly the Ylangx2 which is probably detectable only by a very well-trained nose and in a side-by-side. Libre performs better. You most certainly don't need both.

Very woody and thick. Not bad but definitely not as expected. I was expecting a sunny floral. Then again, I got a sample from the second-hand market, maybe the perfume was a bit stale.

I definitely get the orange and neroli in the opening. I can also pick up on the Tonka and vanilla in the background too. It seems like it’d be a great everyday type of scent! Especially if you like white florals and vanilla/tonka sweetness. Sadly the more I wear it the more overwhelming/borderline cloying it is to my nose. I wish there was a bit more sweetness or creaminess or something to help round it out. Could be a good signature if it agrees with your skin though- would be a versatile pick. I'd recommend testing first though!

To my nose, it’s Libre wrapped in overly ripe peach 🍑, sweet to the point of feeling candied and a bit heavy. There’s that familiar Lancôme-style sweetness, but it leans more synthetic than seductive. Soft projection, and not in a way that makes you want to chase it

Not a fan of the opening. It's sharp and not so original. I was pretty sure I didn't like it, but after some time I got to the middle and base notes, the lingering on the skin... creamy, powdery, classy... and I became a junkie for it. It is close to obsessing/ giving a head ache type of fragrance, but still it won't.

Gorgeous, refined summery fragrance. Ex Nihilo Vesper Glitz smells like a glitzy and sparkly perfume version of Sol De Janeiro Cheirosa 62 body mist which I sprayed on my other arm while testing and it’s uncanny. Even though I don’t completely agree, I see why YSL Libre is recommended as similar because of that sparkling, bright-toned classic perfume also present in this. I believe it’s the aerated clean jasmine creating that clean sparkle in both. The pink pepper also adds sparkle with the neroli and orange adding brightness to Vesper Glitz. Libre has an aromatic, soft spicy, orange blossom vibe that aligns with this as well. The bright, aromatic, classic perfume vibe can also be found in Burberry Goddess. However, for Vesper Glitz the note leader from the very beginning differentiating this from the rest is that beachy sweet ylang ylang. It’s not as waxy, but there’s still a small textural contribution. And that’s why the body mist comes to mind even though it doesn’t feature the flower. They both somehow summarize into having a dominant beachy suntan lotion accord. I can definitely achieve this with 2 spritz of my Libre travel on my skin, generously spraying Cheirosa 62 afterwards. This also smells exactly like YSL Libre Edt which I used to have and loved wearing in the summer because of the nice heat-compatible vanilla that would activate in humidity. Just thinking of other options that are more cost-effective and perform just as well if not better. Vesper Glitz is a summer beauty with more vanilla and if you want to indulge, it is understandable!

Wow this is gorgeous. I'm a bit surprised I love this one as much as I do as many reviews made this one seem pleasant but designer-esque, and I have found myself to be very bored by many designer offerings. Admittedly, this is not the most interesting nor unique composition, but the way all the notes mesh with each other is somehow incredibly captivating to me. I can see how people are reminded of YSL Libre (which I have and love) due to the jasmine and neroli in this one, but this smells way different in my opinion. Libre is sharp and commands attention, Vesper Glitz is soft and summery. The neroli is not super sharp in this one and mixed with the yellow florals and creamy base, it smells beautiful, like a warm summer dream. Though I may be a bit biased as I am a sucker for orange(blossom)/neroli combinations which many are bored of (i.e I love Kilian Love don't be Shy, Valentino Voce Viva, YSL Libre, etc.) but I find this to be a different take on that combination: whereas many orange blossom/neroli perfumes come off a bit sharp, there is no sharpness to this scent but the orange and neroli are clearly there. Additionally, the addition of yellow florals skews this scent to be very solar and tropical and I find it to be so beautiful. I can see how people think this is a very designer-esque and uninspired scent, but I really find it so beautiful and distinctively different from other similar designer offerings. The reviews made me a bit scared to try this since I was unsure it would even be worth it, but I am so glad that I did.
