Mimosa Gold

Mimosa Gold is a very bright and cheerful powdery fragrance, full of mimosa and sunshine and with a creamy background that reminds me almost of a vintage cold cream. Part of Mimosa Gold reminds me of little playful girls in beautiful Sunday dresses and another part is straight up retro glamour. There is something about Mimosa Gold that reminds me of fragrances from the past that were bright, popular and easily recognizable. It’s joyful and uplifting and while there is a nod to the past, it feels thoroughly modern. There is something about this fragrance that I absolutely adore and it makes me feel happier when I wear it. Such a fantastic brand out of London with properly constructed and original perfumes that deserve more attention.

If you like Mimosa fragrances then put this at the top of your list. Uplifting, fluffy pompoms will take you straight back to the sunny days of your childhood whilst almond blossom and vetiver provide a delicious backdrop. I have the extract de parfum and longevity is superb.

Bright honeyed flowers with soapy and powdery undertones. It also has something green and fresh but still floral, so it makes the scent a bit more realistic. It’s really nice and I think it’s quite complex as well: I can definitely feel depth in this fragrance. It has something green similarities to Reflet Sur L'Okavango Ella K. My ig: scent.guide

I sampled this for the mimosa note with my finger's crossed. plenty of other yummy notes on paper here too; ylang ylang, benzoin, tonka and sandalwood... I fell in love with l'artisan's mimosa pour moi 18yrs ago and have never found another blend with mimosa as a main character that is remotely similar in terms of billowy mimosa beauty and soft prettiness. Sadly this one didn't hit the joy button either. It smells good on the strip when it's totally dried down, but when I wore it on my skin today I got hit with a loud sour note that wouldn't shift. Perhaps the plum combined with star anise and the wrong side of benzoin?.. I can't quite distinguish what is but after 2hrs I was scrubbing my wrists. Shame it doesn't work with my skin, because this brand is really interesting. I smelt a few others in the line in store and the blends are very sophisticated in my opinion.

Mimosa Gold by Exaltatum is a sweet, synthetic, powder power scent. This has major projection and stamina. Usually I love the exotic champaca flower, but here I get a medicinal, band aid note in the opening that never departs. I’m not sure which ingredient is causing this feeling, but I don’t think that’s the only problem in this mix. Mimosa Gold behaves badly with my chemistry, and consequently, a strong pass.
