Montecristo

Montecristo smells like the old rooms of the early 20th century: closed chambers steeped in camphor, heavy fabrics, and furniture treated with shellac—the amber polish that traps the years inside it. The light is low and yellowish, but without any combustion scent: it’s simply the color of time that has stained the air. There is an uneasy density made of relics, objects that have absorbed too many stories, wardrobes that smell of ancient wool and warm dust. It’s the perfect space for an unconventional priest, someone living in an ambiguous threshold between the sacred and the secret, between discipline and obsession. Montecristo doesn’t perfume you: it haunts you. It clings like the room itself—closed, heavy, watchful.

When I smelt this at Pitti today I was simply blown away and I needed a bottle! As soon as I put the strip to my nostrils 👃 I had goosebumps which was a good sign! It was smoky sweet and elegantly animalic.... It’s incredibly enigmatic and really reminded me of the mid and dry down of vintage Amouage Tribute! For people that love Amouage Tribute or anything smoky, incensed and mysterious please get this!

Thick syrupy musty, dusty honey with a pungent dirty animal 'ring' scent. Actually really reminiscent of a long abandoned old hoarders house, sealed rooms full of antiques and heavy fabrics like velvet who had an animal frequenting the space since it's abandonedment. I am both horrified and obsessed with this. Would not own a full bottle as the animal butthole smell is too much for me but it is is fascinating that they can make such a specific scent in liquid form.
