Piccadilly Hero

Very sweet cherry opening, lots of fruits that slowly settle into a warm spicy woody tobacco. Luckily the leather is very subtle since I usually hate leather notes. Piccadilly Hero almost feels like a more masculine version of Black Opium Over Red since it shares the cherry-orange blossom-vanilla-patchouli-black tea-combo. Comforting and somewhat Christmas-sy, wouldn't wear past January. It's the fragrance you'd wear when drinking mulled wine and eating chocolates while sitting at the fireplace in grandpa's old armchair. I don't get the "bustling citylife" vibes evoked by the name and marketing at all.

I agree with the reviewer below that this scent is not groundbreaking (it immediately reminded me of delphinus for example, but sweeter). But that doesn't mean it's not beautiful in it's own right. I strongly disagree that this is masculine leaning. It's very sweet and the leather (I do detect it) is very soft (like a buttery suede). I am never a fan of cherry, but I don't pick it up in here so all good. In today's market I also find the price point ok (price per ml). If I didn't already have a few in this genre I would consider a full bottle. It's a very strong like.

Cherry isn’t usually my thing, but this one is quite successful within its own lane. The opening is unnecessarily sweet; almost biscuit-like sweet... clearly gourmand and fruity, making its intentions obvious from the start. As it develops, the cherry becomes more pronounced, and that’s where things improve. Alongside the cherry, notes of tobacco, saffron, dark woods, and a touch of patchouli emerge, lifting it beyond a merely cute, sugary cherry scent. These elements add depth and a darker character. Ideal for winter wear: bold, deep, and dark red in tone. The drydown is the highlight for me; leathery, slightly smoky, and impressively long-lasting. Still way too sweet. Nothing new or groundbreaking here. I can’t understand the hype. Very masculine leaning and woody incense-y. I don’t get the Leather note. It has absolutely nothing to rave about. Pass.
