Via Velluto

One of the prettiest, smoothest, most unique floral perfumes I have ever tried. Just gorgeous. Picture the most attractive, elegant, confident woman in the room that doesn’t need to talk loud because she has everyone captivated by her wit and intelligence. That is Via Velluto. I can take or leave presentation, especially if the perfume itself is great. But the presentation of this is STUNNING on par with the perfume. The box has a heavy linen texture and the card inside contains gorgeous little paintings of the notes with the description...”a subtle combination of red fruits, timeless Peony and noble woods...a glamorous signature that is Mediterranean in essence, deeply radiant and elegantly floral”. The notes listed on the card are: Raspberry Incense Rose Damascena Absolute *Bulgaria Peony Vetiver Essence *Haiti Musk Sandalwood Essence *Australia Brava, Barbara Adelmann and Hamid Merati-Kashani; this is utterly beautiful.

This was a rare love at first sniff for me. A unique floral with character and complexity. It has a creamy, comforting and almost cashmere like scent from the outset, possibly the sandalwood, musk and leather base that seem to carry the rest of the notes so well. Although the fruits and flowers are there too, the blend and composition are so expertly put together that nothing is easily discernible. It’s hard to describe and like nothing else I own but I would really recommend trying if you’re looking for something quiet and luxurious.

With the first spray I fell a very pronounced cucumber scent. It's strange that there is none of it stated in the pyramid. It definitely reminds me of the cucumber lotion we had in the Soviet Union in late 70-ies.

At the beginning is beautiful, unfortunately for me, the dry down has a very unpleasant smell that apparently most people don't smell. Is the same unpleasant dry down smell of Sì, in case someone else is very affected by this particular molecule. I don't know what it is but it has ruined so many nice perfumes for me :(. If you can't smell this then this perfume is absolutely great
