Cellini

I LOVE Aramis Tuscany. If I had blind-smell tested Cellini, I would have said it was Tuscany. Someone copied someone's homework... and I hate to say it but I think Cellini came first lol. I wonder if the people who don't see the similarity between the two smelled a vintage sample/bottle of one or both that had turned, because otherwise I don't know how the comparison isn't obvious because, as the reviewer below stated, the similarity is startling. I already have 3 vintage bottles of Tuscany so obtaining more than the small decant I already have of Cellini would be redundant (plus any bottle I did buy would run the risk of having turned). Having a bottle as a historical curiosity might be interesting, but I try and stay away from collecting for the sake of collecting.

To me, the "quality" of this one is very high, up there with the vintage greats. Speaking of which, if you could subtract the lavender note this wouldn't be that far from vintage Patou Pour Homme! And make no mistake, the lavender is quite clear, though not as overbearing as it is in some of those scents circa late 70s to early 90s. If you like the vintage scents of the earlier part of this period, I suggest trying to sample this one, unless you feel you've already got enough of them.

Faberge's Cellini is the progenitor of Tuscany --- the resemblance is startling. Dry citrus, culinary herbs like oregano, thyme and rosemary, and a warm, ambery base. It definitely conjures up a sunny day in the Italian countryside. Nine Flags: Italy - Dry Citrus may have started the lineage in the mid-sixties --- the family resemblance is unmistakable. Bellissimo!
