There still remains an inkling of this lost allure within the elegantly crafted bottle of Faconnable for Men. One spray of this elixir of masculine elegance and you are transported to the south of France. It is twilight cocktails on the terrace of the Casino at Monte Carlo in a white Tux, a swim out to the float of the beach of the Carleton Hotel. It is the grand staircase and red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival. It is serious as a high stakes game of Baccarat and as much fun as fireworks after midnight with a barefoot bejewled movie star at your side. It opens bright and arrestingly with its well chosen top notes of mint, orange blossom and mandarin orange that does give it a smell of a well made martini. That dissipates quickly into a lush intoxicating Mediterranean garden of jasmine geranium and rose. Toward the end of the middle Sandalwood announces the dry down followed shortly by rich amber and an ethereal musk that whirl seductively around the sandalwood in a smoky slinky dance. It lasted all night on my skin and I awoke The next morning with traces of the dry down still in evidence. Now listen boys, this one is for grown ups! Faconnable for Men is too subtle and complex for simpler younger tastes unless you are a young man who really wants to stand apart as original, daring and smart. Beautiful, soapy, stunner that made your mouth water, that how it was back in the 90's, the glory days. Many compliments, fond memories from my college years. So I bought this perfume once more last year, because I knew how it smelled, right? The opening is the same: stunning fresh, clean, soapy scent. In my opinion, jasmine is a difficult scent to wear for men, as it can get nauseating, so to mellow it, the bitterness of orange and mint makes it pretty wearable. Geranium and a musk note is also very adept here to support the masculine undertones. It is kind of sweet with the musk and amber-notes, but that's just about that. Unfortunately, the projection and longevity is for 2-3 hours and I'm stretching it. Here over-spraying is a must to engage your olfactory senses. Although cheap, the bottle will not last more than a couple of months. The versatility of the perfume is limited. It is a classy scent, with ruined longevity. You are good to go for any formal occasions and for meeting with friends or colleagues.

Façonnable... ...I'm sitting in a small ocean front restaurant in a small town at the French Riviera. A light seafood dinner, a white wine, my wife, the sunset is reflecting in the waves of the ocean. A nice flower bouquet is decorating the dining table. After diner a nice walk home at the oceanfront promenade. There are two fragrances for gentlemen that i personally associate with the French Riviera....Façonnable and Dior Eau Sauvage Perfume 2017. They are not alike but the former reflects floral summer, suntan lotion and linen shirts and the latter citrus, herbal green and wood.. I don't smell a resemblance to Burberry man and even less to Lanvin homme. The former is less floral and more woody and the latter has got a very prominent pepper accord. The packaging is first class, the frosted glass with the leather strip attached to the cap sitting in a beautiful and decorative metal tin which could have come from the 20's or 30's of the last century.

I had this fragrance for about 20 years ago! I was trying to find this fragrance at a decent price in the internet for months. I ́ve just lost any hope, because it is too difficult to find this fragrance in Portugal! In the last week i went to a local supermarket, nearby my home, and as i was waiting to be served by the local employee, i was peeking a shelf and...i saw this gem! I did not want to believe! It was there...it was waiting for me for long time! I bought it for 12,99€! I asked the employee if that was true. And he said to me: Yes! It ́s true. You cant take the fragrance. We have some fragrances for a long time that we didn ́t sell and, for that reason, we lowered the prices so that people can afford them. After that day, i always peek the shelfs of that supermarket! I never thought to find this fragrance in my village! If you find this fragrance, just buy it! It ́s one of my favourites!

My SOTD today. It's a very nice fresh floral with hints of wood and mint. Although the mint note doesn't last long, maybe an hour or so, then it gets a little musky in a good way. It's in the same vein as Lanvin L'Homme which also has mint, woods and white floral. They don't smell exactly the same, but it gives you an idea of Faconnable's composition. Perfect for late spring and the summer months. It's a nice change from the usual citrus and aquatics. Performance is about average. You can get a 3.3oz bottle online for about $19, so this is a great value. Smells much more expensive than it costs. Leans masculine but women can pull it off easily... unless you're like my wife who refuses to wear men's colognes. All in all, it makes an enjoyable addition to any spring/summer rotation when you like to change things up a bit from what most guys wear nowadays... Sauvage, Bleu, Aventus, etc.

Beautiful 90s cheapie. I get something in a similar vein to Fleur du Male, Reflection Man, Carven L'Eau Intense, Lacoste Booster, Caron Pour Un Homme de Caron Sport, Fath Pour L'Homme, etc. In short - clean, powdery, minty, citrusy, aromatic barbershop fougere. It's far from the most original scent I've ever smelled, but it is absolutely delicious. Refreshing, uplifting, minty/mentholic, fresh, smooth, with a warm, powdery, musky drydown. This is the olfactory equivalent of comfort food to me. There's no pretensions, no overabundance of noseburning synthetics. Nothing feels too much - it's all in balance. An easy, breezy blast from 1994 that is just as refreshing today as it was then. Pair it with a crisp white Oxford button down, linen shorts, suede loafers and a nice pair of shades and you're absolutely golden. Not the longest lasting scent, but it does the job. 8.5/10

Faconnable has the best sillage of any men's fragrance I know. Great amounts of mint supported by flowery notes make it smell quite perfumey. It is also largely linear, but who cares when it smells this good. One of my very favourites, which I particularly like to use for special occasions especially if I wear a suit (or) when good sillage is all important. IMO its elegance does not really make it suitable for bumming around in jeans & a t-shirt. Beautiful bottle BTW. IMAO this (along with Grey Flannel and perhaps Zino Davidoff) is how a men's flowery perfume should be done, and funnily enough it makes me feel very wealthy and refined when I wear it. Summary: Great and elegant. BTW, in case you were wondering, Faconnable smells identical to its offshoot Internationable.

Although I have only known the perfume for a few years, the moment when I feel it on my skin transposes me in time and creates a melancholy state for me ... 🥴 It is a relaxing summer scent, clean, soapy, like freshly washed laundry. Mint, jasmine and musk are the notes that dominate the entire stay on the skin. The presentation of the perfume is very cool, especially considering the marketing price. This is the best example that quality perfumes do not have to be expensive. Unfortunately nowadays synthetic and laboratory perfumes are promoted, and real olfactory jewelry is forgotten. Only by looking at the tradition of the house Façonnable you can realize that they could not make a quality discount.

Never have I done a 180 degree turn on a fragrance as quickly as I have with this one. It was a blind buy but I felt confident given the notes and good reviews. First spray upon arrival and I was so disappointed. I hated it, even had to wash it off my skin. I was already planning to get rid of it. But then for some reason I picked up the bottle a few days later and just sprayed again to try and understand why i hated it so much. But something happened... it didn't smell terrible at all. In fact, it smelled fantastic. I don't know why, but now I really like this fragrance. I have been wearing it regularly lately. Performance it good, smell is great.

It's a while since I had this one. Oh boy, this brings back some memories. Yes, back then in the 90's I loved it. It was a very clean scent. Jasmine hit my nose the most, and the floral part is perhaps the most challenging part for a guy. I really think that at times it was too much and I had to spray it rather on my belly to get the sillage just right. The scent has also a bit sharp quality. Difficult to say whether it is the mint or too much sandalwood. On the more positive note, back then I could not get enough of it. Yes, the elegance, the distinction, the freshness was all there.

A gorgeous scent. A lovely blend of mint and sandalwood with floral and citrus notes. Starts as a fresh minty cologne. The dry down is more woody but stays fresh and just the right amount of mint. The silage is woody/floral and fresh and it really is lovely. The whole composition is classy and well blended. Longevity and projection are very good. A high quality and really pleasant fragrance that is pretty unique! The dry-down is one of THE best I have ever experienced.

The fizzy, green orange blossom and mint lasts for hours then sweet nutmeg, jasmine, lily, and a touch of amber join as the top recedes, but doesn’t completely dissipate. It ends with a milky sandal, musk and orange—the orange comes as a very pleasant surprise. Faconnable is exceptionally affective. (The orange blossom-mint combination is distinctly green, sweet, and slightly floral, whereas Cool Water (lavender-mint) and Eternity (lavender-sage) are dry and gray.)

The older I get, the more I think scents which I absolutely adored when I was young, are in fact old men colognes. This is a good example. That having said, it really is a fine sophisticated flowery smell for an older gentleman. Could be unisex. Absolutely adorable, stands out, worthwhile checking out, if you are into lesser crowd pleasers. Thankfully I am at that age now where I can wear it (finally ;-)). A solid 8!

An awesome green clean fragrance that's also slightly warm and creamy due to the sandalwood.Supposedly smells like Creed G.I.T which I'm not certain of. However as a stand alone its fantastic and elegant the fact it has a budget price astounds me.This is a perfect spring time fragrance that epitomises how a garden or field full of clean white florals herbs and citrus fruits.

Amazing when going out on a nice, warm day. The citrus is really strong at first but it equalises it self time goes on, making the white floral go crazy good. Very nice bottle design, although the brown strap for the cap broke after a few months. Don't spray this on your Apple Watch if you are wearing it on your wrist, like I did. It will smell very off-putting.

People have said plenty about the fragrance so I want to emphasize how beautiful the bottle is. In hand this is great, the frosted glass and transparent glass with the gold domed plaque and leather bound cap. The details are classy without looking cheap or gaudy in any way. Great gift for anyone interested in mature timeless fresh fragrances.

Fresh aromatic with hints of mint. This has a sophisticated, classy, confident, and polished vibe on wearer. This smells better on shirt than on skin. Good performance and average sillage. Penhaligon’s Opus 1870 In a cheaper bottle. Smells way more expensive than it costs.

Freshy freshy and freshy, the mint in it is beautiful. Very recomendable if you want something fresh, classic, with good price and excellent performance. This Is a must.

Ohh it's so 90s. But that's exactly what I love about it. It reminds me of the French Riviera in late summer/early fall. I actually picked it for the first time in Marseille in 1995 and back then it was super trendy. I was 18 and I was loving the fragrance. I rediscovered it again a month ago and still quite satisfied even though apparently our noses change as time goes by (it just smells different to me now compared to 1995). The scent is a bit linear (doesn't develop too much) but quite pleasant after it settles which is quite normal for a "cologne" type of fragrance such as this one. I always get people asking me what cologne I'm wearing. Can be used in all seasons. Safe for work and meetings. Subtle and fairly sophisticated. The minty beginning is great and crisp maybe a bit strong but I love it. The citrus top is good but a bit bittery. Floral notes are fairly well blended, pleasant and clean but confusing to distinguish anything specific (others perceive it much better than the person using it). The musky end is very nice and comfortable however I cannot pick the sandalwood at all. Back in 1995 I could easily notice it - now I can't :-( Sillage is great. Spraying on clothes however is not recommended - just doesn't sit well on clothing. Keep it on your skin. It may not be a signature scent material but is quite versatile and pleasant. Very european, straight, masculine and serious, maybe even mature, zero powdery effects. It carries a strong 90s influence (that's before the "Metrosexual man confusion") and nowadays maybe more suitable for everyday, 30+, business, work use rather than evening out, dinner or weekends. I am also lucky it works beautifully on my skin. It's also quite inexpensive. As far as the alleged similarities to Cool Water I personally find ZERO similarity. Two totally different scents and I'm not saying it as a bad thing - I love Cool Water just nothing similar here. Good find.

Amazing fragrance. Tested it at the Nordstrom in Seattle, and I was blown away. The mint jasmine rose combination is impeccable. The only thing I have smelled similar to this in my limited experience is Anucci Anucci for men, which is a jasmine floral fragrance. But this is less harsh than Anucci, and the mint note makes this delicious. Has a slight barbershop feel, but not much in my view. I took home 6 samples from nordstrom including terre d'hermes, vince camuto for men, Tom ford noir, gendarme for men, and John varvatos vintage, and this definitely stands out. Has some uniqueness compared to most generic designer brands because it goes back to 90s. Not much versatility other than summer and spring outdoor day wear along with occasional office wear, but this is classy and mature. Another floral that comes to mind is kiton for men which I love, but this may trump kiton too.

This is good dna. Still wears well. I enjoy the opening. Dry down is slightly soapy, powdery and woody with the white florals lingering and i quite enjoy it also. Decent performance and longevity. Polo 67 is a bit similar to my nose. Especially in the dry down. It's growing on me. Really good performance. And that doesn't mean it's loud. The beautiful drydown is very durable and still projects a nice scent bubble long after application. Now back to the scent. The opening has hints of kouros. Drydown like Polo 67. Once again facconable goes beyond expectations and impresses me. I think I'll have to get the line. They remind me of bogart fragrances with just a little extra appeal that makes them extremely easy to use. I would actually put them at about Missoni wearability. Which is really very good.

Clean peppermint, slightly floral, herbaceous, with a touch of woods. From the sample card I have the notes are listed as Top: mandarin, peppermint, rosemary. Heart: lavender, geranium, nutmeg. Base: sandalwood, cedarwood, oakmoss. If that's true the notes listed on fragrantica are pretty off. It starts out really minty, almost like a muscle rub or old school Certs mints note, then quickly moves to a classic masculine fresh scent that's clean, a little soapy, old school deodorant like, and cooling. Reminds me of Spring. It can be had for cheap too which is awesome because Faconnable is a hidden gem if you enjoy 80s/90s style men's fragrances that stand out against today's ever increasing army of aquatics and overly sweet offerings.

I like this, but it makes me sad, somehow. I think it's because it has a decided aging Euro-trash feel, and Euro-trash is the saddest kind of trash. It’s the kind of thing that I imagine Bruno from the Elementary Particles would wear at one of his depressing swingers resorts. Pretty unique, though. Sort of powdery, sort of floral. A little cleaner-like, but good nonetheless. Worth sampling, especially as long as Fragrancenet has a carded sample for a buck and change. In short, a decent and unique budget masculine.

It's a gorgeous scent, Fresh, Clean, Classy and floral. One of the best men's Fresh Floral fragrances. You can't go wrong with it. It opens up with like fresh citrusy floral and green notes in the background then dry down is floral woody. The art of bottle design is very wonderful and The Mint note is dominant in this perfume. This is perfect for the spring, summer and fall. I'm so happy that I have it in my collection and I like Faconnable Faconnable EDT for Men. Bravo Faconnable ! Thumbs Up. Rating : 8 / 10

Very nice white flowers perfume, elegant, relaxed and pleasant. It lasts about 10 hours (batch 2016 or 10/20 years older), although the projection is very mild it's perfect for this kind of scent, it has its special charm. I wouldn't recommend spraying on clothes because it works better on skin. Flacon is beautiful and the cap clicks in place nicely. 8/10

Sohee Park: no chance to this be a unisex fragrance. It is definitely masculine. If I encounter a woman using this fragrance I would immediately think as an innadequauate option. Façonable is not gorgeus. It is strange. I like. i have.

I used to like this in the 90s, and I don't know if it my nose has changed or if this is a reformulation, but now I just find it to be a synthetic, generic mess! Shame.

It has nothing to do with Cool Water. Faconnable is a green, minty discreet fragrance for mature men, absolutely not Cool Water-ish.

I liked this smell. It is More classy of David Of Cool Water. The sillage is problem. After 1 hour no one feeling this parfum

first impressions: There's a soapiness at first that I wish didn't fade so fast. I feel like this is a perfume that has a subtly to it, and can be really complimentary on the right person, but also runs the risk of being boring otherwise. I hoped the florals came through a little more for me, the more generic spiciness and peppermint is definitely forefront. Would probably wear a young person

Never smelled before today. Nice but it's very familiar, I just can't place what it reminds me of. It's quite pleasant.

I love this fragrance...but not on me. I found this on offer, so checked it out in online reviews. Seemed the sort of EdT I normally love. Whilst it smells really wonderful on a close friend (and she wears it a lot), she tells me it smells unpleasant on me. Sour and fetid, I was informed! And, I'm afraid to admit she is right. I have returned to it occasionally, really to see if something I had washed with or bathed in could have coloured the aroma unintentionally. Eventually, staging as objective a comparison as we could realistically undertake, we each sprayed an arm and could pretty much agree differences from the initial application into the drydown. It just shows how body chemistry and perfumes have very personal interactions. Strange, but in the case of Façonnable, true.

Purchased this at Ross last night reduced price of $13.99 I've heard decent reviews of this fragrance. So I got it and in the car me and 8 year old son tried it on... While shopping about an hour later my son goes "Hey, I can't smell this perfume you sprayed on my hand"... Ya, Very light!... If your looking for a light Spring Summer Fragrance, you may like this. Soft Sour Citric Scent with a little floral and sandalwood peaking through... THAT'S IT... Pleasant, Yes... Soft, Very... Offensive, NO! Nothing More... Luckily to say the lady at the customer counter at Ross was very nice and she was happy to let me exchange it for something else... It went back! I bought a bottle of CAESARS PALACE MAN... At least a Drakkar Noir knockoff would get more use! For me atleast...

Soapy herbal mint green powder. Il smells also lavender. Melancholic. Stiffener for fabrics and shirt. Laundry. Nun. School uniform. Kindergarten. I don't like the things above. Than for me this is clean cold aseptic fragrance. It Make me sad. cheap deodorant for house or body, mainly stiffener spray as said. Not my kind. It has some vanillic drydown. Reminescence of Good Life by Davidoff and Maja new one, and Eau du Tsar.

I thought I liked Façonnable EDT when I just sniffed the opening but wished that I didn't sprayed it on my skin when the top notes faded. The opening is clean, soapy, and classy. But, man, the basenote musk is unbearable; it just ages you.

I wasn't expecting anything above 5/10, and i was right. got this today and at first the citrus hits you very hard then it turned to be something completely different (not good) by the way for EDT it last for a long time !!!!

Not my cup of tea... it’s very close to Cool Water (which I’ve never been a fan of ) but toned down. Smells like Bounce dryer sheets lol but it’s an ok scent , just don’t like it at all.. Not suitable for a blind buy.

It goes on pleasantly citrusy but then takes a wrong turn down a chemical back alley and smells really synthetic.

Unisex fragrance. Hella long longevity for a EDT.

Cloyingly sweet. Churned my stomach. Literally. The worst fragrance I have owned so far. EDIT: Tied for 2nd worst with Santal 33. Phantom is now the absolute worst fragrance I have smelled so far.

A refreshing summer scent evocative of the South of France, the Riviera the Cote D'Azure, with it's beaches, harbors, yachts, beachfront mansions, the Cannes Film Festival, and beautiful bikinied girls with windswept hair and oversized sunglasses, tan men with polo shirts open to the naval and the permeating Mediterranean sea breeze which carries citrusy orange blossom. Faconnable was released in '94 at which time this type of unisex citrus based floral musk was quite popular. It's not 100 percent like it but it's in the same category as CK One Calvin Klein and Eternity. This is a fresh citrusy easy to wear soapy fragrance; clean, like freshly laundered dress shirts with long sleeves, and as mentioned, unisex, as much as woman's fragrance as it is a man's. None of the notes are hyper feminine or hyper masculine. In fact this is easy for a young teen to wear as a first 'real' fragrance. I wore it in the 90s when I wanted to wear something that wasn't American and felt like a big shot in French cologne. Opens with a sweet mandarin orange and a mint. Actually it appears to be a mint leaf. It's green and aromatic as it starts, with the orange tree/blossom aroma as a high top note. It's a lemon tree orchard with a delicious and invigorating tonic effect. Then it settles into a floral heart with rose geranium and jasmine. Each flower is detectable but the white floral scent, the jasmine, is the dominant one. The rose and geranium are not as prominent, though it is a very clean soft rose and geranium; the latter being a 'unisex' floral note found in men's colognes as they are found in women's. Roses are now unisex floral notes (think of the rose in Chanel Egoiste or Tom Ford Café Rose) but in '94 the floral fragrance market was usually aimed at female buyers so this rose note was an innovation in perfumery. When dry, Faconnable is a clean musk but it's also fragrant with a sandalwood and with an amber tree note. The amber here is potent and gives it a warmth and cleanliness like soap as does the musk. Sometimes powdery and at times herbal-aromatic, this is like a luxurious soap for your bath. A well made frag to wear daily in the summer months. If you like Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford and 4711 Eau de cologne this is in the same league. So glad I was able to keep several bottles of this stuff. It's not old fashioned or outdated. Many frags with these notes and this clean citrus floral musk accord arrangement are still being made. Lastly I want to say I love the bottle. It's classy and very attractive. The scent is superb. Highly recommended. Look for it on eBay where I can still stock up on it when I run out of it. Merci Faconnable!

The reviews here are very interesting and reminiscent of the story about the three blind men and the elephant. I have an official sample but I don't know which formulation it is (I'd guess the original, judging from the age of the other samples - I bought them as a lot). Anyway, there is some dihydromyrcenol (as one finds in Cool water) and obvious lavender. It also has that sweaty quality I get from Sung Homme (I have the vintage version of that one). And it's very floral, with some citrus that isn't sharp (at least beyond the first few minutes); the mint is blended into the whole. It also conveys a kind of sandy quality, meaning the smells of a hot day at the beach (apparently, some perceive this as "clean laundry," perhaps due to the combination of the florals with dihydromyrcenol, but to me it is "classic clean/dirty"). Also, it's got a touch of sweetness (the "amber" listed must be really mild, and I wouldn't be surprised if some found it to have a quality found in scents like Legend by Michael Jordan). I find it intriguing but revolting, to be honest - it's just too much; my stomach begins to churn! To me it's a great example of a note clash. But this is "old fashioned" perfumery in its full glory, so if you want a taste of that, sample this one. Just don't spray too much the first time!
