Fantôme is next level when it comes to bringing an entire experience into a fragrance. I only just got my first samples by them and this is the second one I've tried on so far, and tell me why the descriptions always match so perfectly?!? It really does feel like I'm on a mystical snowy mountain with all the described notes included. Also the longevity/sillage is pretty decent, when I tried my sample on it made my whole bathroom smell like dark chocolate and I could noticeably smell it as I walked around without needing to sniff my wrist. The dark chocolate comes in first right away and spreads throughout the whole room. Smelling it up close right against my wrist does give an animalistic scent, which a previous review under me says could be the owl feather accord and I'd have to agree. The blueberry note is there complimenting the chocolate with a slight bitterness but it's a lot quieter and you kind of have to focus to catch it. After a few hours, the loud scents fade away and the lavender/floral with fresh winter air. The cedar hits last to merge with the rest. Overall it has an amazing changing experience that matches the written theme/description extremely well! I really suggest people to check out this brand and try the ones that look promising to you because as I explore more of the samples I have I have a feeling all of them will be very accurate to its advertising. Really beautiful fragrance! EDIT: I'm adding this the following morning to report that I can still smell a bit of it on my wrist... the longevity is insane!!! @_@

On first spray, it's a smooth and warm blanket of dark chocolate, lavender, cedar, bluebells, a light tinge of blueberries, and a faint animalic wet feather accord. The drydown is to die for, the bittersweet dark chocolate mellows out a bit, the burnt cedar starts coming to the forefront, and the lavender & hyacinth meld together perfectly. As time goes on, every single whiff of it is a joy to smell. It lasts for a VERY long time, 8 to 12+ hours on my skin during the winter but it lasts longer than that when it's warmer out. It doesn't project hard but it creates a very apparent scent bubble that isn't "choke the room out" levels of strong but it also isn't "I need to put my nose up to where it was sprayed to smell it" skin scent either. It's just right. It isn't a safe blind buy unless you've got a general idea of what you like in gourmand fragrances and enjoy prominent wood notes. Easily one of the best fragrances I've ever smelled. It's a mysterious scent worthy of it's inspiration, Prince Stolas.

Stolas is a fragrance you have to sit with for a bit before you really understand what's going on. It's absolutely not a safe blind buy, and the notes/main accords listed on fragrantica don't do much to capture what's going on here. On my skin, it is very animalic. Though I haven't smelled an owl, I think Fantôme did an amazing job capturing a feathery, bird-like scent; this fragrance evokes memories of chasing chickens and other various farm animals around at my childhood friend's house. Knowing the basic goetic lore surrounding Stolas, this fragrance does an amazing job capturing it. Though I'm not sure this fragrance suits my personality, I'm absolutely going to keep my sample size around because of the immense nostalgia and dreaminess it offers. I really hope that Fantôme expands into home fragrances someday, because I would absolutely love to have my home smell like this.

Got this as a free sample with another Fantome order. It's very very chocolatey, brightened somewhat with a less obvious blueberry note. The cedar they use is very animalic but faint, and there is the lavender, which is a common fur and tanning smell. I believe that is what's giving people the feather impression, which yes, is present, especially with the drydown. The animalic notes are not necessarily avian though. I described it as if you spilled a fudge-berry sundae on a very clean sheep. Totally pleasant and comforting.

For the longest time this was my everyday fragrance, so I'm excited to share my thoughts! First off, Fantome to me in every one of their perfumes has a very strong heady alcohol (like liqueur but artificial ish ) smell that I find very irritating tbh, so i don't go for their scents as much anymore. No one else seems to note this online, but when I have friends test the scents irl they do notice it so idk. It may be whatever they use as a base but i'm not sure. Anyways sooooo: This scent is like a summer night, when the moon is high enough to go for a stroll or when you just got home at 2-3 am. The stars and the smell on the wind, this is a perfect scent to encapsulates that earthy-airy smell and the feelings of the night in a very realistic way. The blueberry I personally do not smell, it is very light. The strongest note is the dark chocolate, it is very bitter and adds to the atmosphere. I do feel it CAN smell a tiny bit artificial, but I don't mind it too much. As a dark chocolate lover that note is just the cherry on top for me. There is something slightly animalistic smelling, but it is very light and airy. Overall I close my eyes and see the color dark dark blue and the feeling of the night breeze. It dries to something very light even with the bitterness of the chocolate, it is something like a fairytale. Like I can imagine in some strange way it is the scent of a creature of the night, or something from a story a grandmother is telling beside a fire somewhere far far away. There are things I would change about this fragrance it isn't perfect, but I would give it a try if you are looking for a scent like I described this might be it. I wouldn't necessarily say it is strange in anyway, but I realize I am not the best judge... it is unique but not offensive in any way. In my opinion it is entirely wearable. 7.5/10

i didn't quite love the opening of this scent; it might be a case of the fragrance needing to settle after a transatlantic flight, but it's very artificial blueberry syrup and chocolate liqueur upfront, with an ever so slight vomitous whiff in there that i struggle to tell if it's meant to mimic the butyric acid in american chocolate, or merely the accidental byproduct of my skin chemistry. in any case, i am relieved when the woodiness starts to balance out the composition, and then it is a genuinely pretty arrangement. it does smell gloaming-blue, somehow. cedar and lavender create a fougère structure, making this very unisex in my opinion, but the blueberries, now tamed, add an unusual twist to that familiar format. there's a whispery, feathery musk in the background that feels like a spiritual cousin to snowy owl by zoologist. i'll have to re-wear it to see how the top notes fare on my skin next time, i would really love to make this work considering the very interesting drydown, but as of yet i'm still undecided.

dried blueberries covered in bitter dark chocolate. on paper, there's a distinct balsamic (?) quality to it, almost like soy sauce, but thankfully it disappears on skin; I'm thinking it's the cedar note. similarly, there's a something...wet smelling, very faintly. I've never gotten close enough to an owl to get a good whiff, but I'm guessing that's the owl feather accord. on me it smells like blueberry granola/trail mix that's mostly the chocolate bits, and I really like it! doesn't project very far on me, but it's like a little secret, just for me to enjoy. not a crowd pleaser, not a safe blind buy; definitely sample & test this before committing to a full bottle. another work of art from Fantome!

The first half hour of this was just straight blueberry and dark chocolate. Pleasant, but very sweet and not what I would usually go for. But once this settles down it is so lovely! Still sweet but mellowed out by powdery lavender. A very warm and comforting scent. That being said, it smelt like "foosty leather and a bit of chocolate" to my mum so maybe not a safe blind buy lmao

This is a lovely scent to wear on a cold winter day, it is chocolaty and soft, and a mild musk comes through.I think I would like it a bit more if the lavender notes were stronger, but over all a nice scent.

smells like eating a piece of chocolate in the woods in winter. generally pretty pleasant i'd say it's ok for a blind buy for freaks but definitely test first if you plan on like. wearing it to the office

Stolas from Fantome is the strangest, most marvelous combination of chocolate and lavender, and this is one of the times I did not reacquaint myself with the notes before testing the scent and coming to that conclusion. So when I double-checked and saw I was right and I did actually smell what I smelled–hot dog, that’s validating. Even after all of this time I feel like I am just constantly wildly speculating. Anyway, this is a musty, dusty chocolate and a powdery lavender, cool aromatic cedar, and something strangely, sweetly waxen. It summons for me something so uncannily vivid and eerily evocative, though not the owl-headed 36th Prince of Hell that inspired the scent. No, this is a dim attic room closed to sunlight for the last century, tangled in pale, filmy cobwebs and frail, milky lace, and crowded with countless wooden shelves upon which are perched dozens of creamy-cheeked, unblinking porcelain dolls.

Immediately get hit with blueberry Danish and chocolate. I didn't think I would love this one as much as I would because I usually don't go for gourmand or simplistic scents but this has me hook, line and sinker and I am finding myself craving to wear this at night even in hot Australian summer because somehow it feels cooling and refreshing. This exactly as OP a few posts below me said -fresh-out-the-oven blueberry Danish and a cup of ice-cold luxury swiss chocolate milk while you breathe in fresh mountain air on the porch of your witchy-grandmothers cabin (Who follows the Old Gods and not the new). I think this is one you have to get your nose on to be impressed by because I wouldn't have picked this if the opportunity to own it didn't find me and I can't imagine how mad I would be at myself if I didn't get it and then got to test it out in the future. It's weird girl gourmand. Try it if you can!

A lullaby of soft purple flowers, blueberry, and fresh cedar with a gentle bite of bitter chocolate. An offering made at the foot of a cedar tree at twilight, its long blue shadow reaching forth and invoking a silent watchful presence. Stolas, the god of stars. Decadent, comforting, and strange. Made for nocturnal witches who live in treehouses and whisper love poems to the moon.

The instant cat pee cedar smell made every other note indiscernible for me.
