Tahiti Vanilla

Too much attempting to go on but not quite hitting the mark. I was hoping for more of this Tahiti the Luckyscent description is talking about. It actually smells like Dior's Hypnotic Poison to me. Nice, sweet, sandalwood, almond vibe creamy fuzzy vibe that hypnotic poison shares. Edit: This one really grew on me. I'm really liking the sort of anise, licorise, sage herbalish but sweet creamy opening and it still sort of reminds me of HP but i'm picking up more on the citrus now. Gently intoxicating, warm and sweet.

Pretty, but weak sauce. One of the most eagerly awaited scents for me in a long time as both a FSSA fan an collector of vanilla fragrances, but a huge disappointment. Nowhere near the same league as FSSA's other vanilla powerhouse Vaniglia del Madagascar. This one needs to go back to the drawing board.

I agree, this smells like Hypnotic Poison, a weaker version that's a little more powdery. This was recommended by Luckyscent as being similar to the long lost Calypso St Barth Lea, so I ordered a sample and gave it a shot. I have a decant of Lea don't and I don't smell a connection with Tahiti Vanilla and Lea. TV is more in the HP family. It has that root beer smell (anise isn't listed but it's absolutely there) and dries down to a wispy, powdery heliotrope with faint vanilla. This isn't a very sweet fragrance, it's slightly bitter when tested side by side with Farmacia's Cara, which is much sweeter and more vanilla smelling. Very light scent with little sillage.
