Whisky Oud

Well this is a rare occasion where detail is not needed. This is an awesome scent. Blind bought - I know FSSA - I knew what i was getting but I tell you what - this is dead set exactly what’s advertised - no more no less. I love Whisky and Whisky scents and I love Oud. The opening is a bang of slightly peaty single malt with oud. In less than 5 minutes the Whisky is syrupy slightly honey like and fast moving to the background and the gorgeous quality oud with a hint of leather is well established. My only complaint is the Whisky changes to a subtle hint for most of the life - maybe it should be called Oud Whisky? For oud lovers that want quality and a change up rather than for Whisky lovers. Stinkingly good quality as usual. So happy. Edit: I tried it again today after a shower and I take back my criticism in that whilst the peaty whisky fades it is still prominent enough on the dry down to make me think of whisky as well as oud.

On my skin it opens with the strong, sharp scent of sour, alcoholic whisky, with a hint of oud in the background. I would occasionally get whiffs of a fruity pipe tobacco, but only at arm's length as when I lifted my arm to my nose and inhaled, it disappeared and became strictly whisky. This lasts for about twenty minutes or so, and then the whisky fades and the oud steps forward, along with a very smoky incense. This incense smell is what takes center stage for me, with the woody oud occasionally peeking out here and there. Very nice. My foray into the house of Farmacia SS. Annunziata dal 1561 began with Whisky Oud, and now I'm a customer for life! In Whisky Oud, a boozy saffron shares top billing with the most perfect suede accord I've ever experienced. The oud note here is very tame--nothing fecal or animalic. Overall, this is a sexy, dense, woody, opaque composition. Beautifully blended and well worth the €125/100ml. I'm halfway through my bottle and intend to buy a second. Full notes: Labdanum, incense, whisky, saffron, suede, oud, cedar, vetiver, amber, musk (Does anyone know why there are two different pages for this fragrance?)

I don't know what everybody is talking about, this has nothing to do with TL from TF. I get sweet boozy accord with Oud. The Oud used here is good quality. The whisky accord lasts almost the entire life of the fragrance but it becomes weaker by time. In dry down it becomes more smokey woody. Very nice with very good performance.

MyMickers reviewed this fragrance on YouTube and I wish I would have seen it before I bought this. No whiskey that I can tell. This is a saffron bomb with a touch of Oud. It smells more like Tuscan Leather than any alcohol I’ve ever tried. Decent scent and solid longevity but I was really disappointed by it when I went in with the boozy expectation.
