Whisky Oud

My foray into the house of Farmacia SS. Annunziata dal 1561 began with Whisky Oud, and now I'm a customer for life! In Whisky Oud, a boozy saffron shares top billing with the most perfect suede accord I've ever experienced. The oud note here is very tame--nothing fecal or animalic. Overall, this is a sexy, dense, woody, opaque composition. Beautifully blended and well worth the €125/100ml. I'm halfway through my bottle and intend to buy a second. (Does anyone know why there are two different pages for this fragrance?)

Whisky and Oud, like it says! I’m a big FSSA fan. Easily one of the most overlooked brands with easily above average design and punch. I love Whisky scents so as soon as I was able to I organised a blind buy bottle. Didn’t let me down! So happy to finally have an Oud scent that breaks with the common design trend. Single peat malt whisky with smooth oud base pulled together with the saffron. The leather and amber blowing out the body. Complete breath of fresh air and pretty damn unique. I’m in ❤️.

A very spicy vetiver scent kicks this one off. There might be a hint of tobacco. Saffron lingers in the background throughout. It evolves pretty quickly. The whisky is sweet and accompanied by leather - a relatively smooth leather, but still with some harshness. Maybe it's suede, but it's a little harsher than I imagine suede being. The oud is deep and dark, but not animalic. It's a 'Western style' oud rather than the darker, sharper oud you'd more likely find in a pure oud oil or oud-heavy fragrance marketed towards the Middle East. I don't get a whole lot of projection, but that may be a good thing depending on your intended use for this; while I don't think this fragrance is likely to offend anyone, it is distinctly boozy, so depending on your workplace it might not fit very well. It's a nice scent! And an unusual lineup of notes for an oud fragrance.

Well, does it smell like whisky and oud? Sure does. A sour, animalic oud doused in whisky. I find it mildly powdery with a faint hint of sweetness. Thoroughly unpleasant to my tastes, as I love neither sour oud nor whisky, but definite truth in advertising here. It also has a strong leather accord running through it, along with other woods in the base. Moderately strong projection for 2-3hr, longevity 10-12hr.
