Milky No Way

I have been looking for a lactonic/vanilla scent that doesn't give me an immediate migraine (a genuinely difficult feat). I got the Fascent discovery set assuming Milky No Way wouldn't work for me, but I honestly hated everything in it except for this. It starts off very cool rather than warm vanilla, presumably from the pepper, and is a little sharp. The sharpness calms down a bit after 20 minutes or so, but it maintains its coolness for a couple of hours. Eventually it melts into my skin and the tonka, hazelnut, and sandalwood notes give the salty, nutty, just sweet enough warmth I've been looking for. It manages to smell strong but maintain its skin-like presence for hours. My only wish is that the warm dry down came a bit sooner. Overall I'm super happy with this one and feel like I finally found my safe gourmand.

This smells so comforting!! There are no chocolate notes but the whipped cream accord and vanilla make it reminiscent of cookies and cream for me. To clarify it isn’t a photorealistic gourmand, just extremely cozy and addictive. I love the complexity the black pepper and hazelnut notes add. It’s a very nutty fragrance. I bought a full bottle immediately after trying the sample, I love it so much

It's almost gourmand but somehow it doesn't cross that line. It doesn't smell like white chocolate, but it's that same kind of sweet aroma. I think you'd be better off buying the discovery set as I can't quite describe this but it lasts quite well as I had a bin in my room and could still smell it as I was trying to sleep 🤣

smells like a really cool coffee date in the winter, around nighttime~ like its warm, inviting but there's a smokiness, alluring vibe to it. ive gotten so many compliments on it i cannot wait to buy more from fascent

it smells like an expensive, small batch milk soap made specifically for a tiny boutique hotel, or like you ate hazelnuts a half hour ago and someone is steaming a carafe of rice milk nearby, or like the pages of books i purchased from my favorite record shop. there is something perfumey to it, it’s not gourmand or sweet. on my skin, it’s very peppery and comes across as scratchy, and the nutty milkiness is dry and powdered. it’s a fairly intimate fragrance, and up close with my nose right up against my skin within the first half hour i do not like it - it’s perfumey, and the pepper is loud. but without directly sniffing, it smells like a cottony poof of warm nut milk and soap. the perfumey pepper does die down, and takes a backseat to the hazelnut and lactonic notes that reminds me of the small shop portion of an indian restaurant that sells sandalwood goods.

My mom got this as a sample for a random purchase she made in France. I finally tried it today and WOW. It starts off very milky and creamy, almost juvenile... until it dries down until this beautiful mix of creamy and nutty and even some wood. Usually scents like this (black pepper, I swear) can be almost headache inducing but for me this is just gorgeous. Every note does its job perfectly. This is for the girlies who love a good gourmand, but want to be a bit more mature with it. This is for sure a winter and fall scent too. A little goes a long way here!

The initial blast has a strong sandalwood note, akin to santal33-esque fragrance. This behind sharp and softens out to a creamier woody scent. I will say, I see the comparisons to milk by commodity, but I find milk to be much smoother and sweeter than this. I think it still maintains a strong sandalwood-like DNA that keeps it a bit shaper and less rounded. I prefer milk by commodity, but this is still a nice, more unisex, masculine-leaning fragrance.

This opens unexpectedly savoury, almost like warm roasted nuts or natural peanut butter but comforting, not odd. Very quickly it softens into a smooth, creamy haze of hazelnut, milk and whipped cream. The tonka adds gentle warmth rather than sweetness, while sandalwood and cashmere wood keep it grounded and cosy. It’s softly milky, nutty and woody, never cloying. It’s sweet, milky and little bit smoky 🤔 I got the vibe of inner sexiness, like you’re not wearing a perfume, but your skin smells like coconut milk and you smoked a cigarette few hours ago. It has similarities to Commodity’s Milk-, so soft. I don’t like a cedar wood in Commodity Milk, because I hear sourness on my skin. I prefer Fascent over Commodity.

at first spray this has an unappealing dryness, akin to a deodorant. however, as it dries down, an addictive nuttiness emerges. the woody, amber notes give it an almost cocoa aspect - lovely, warm, and rounded.

It is a perfect balance between milk and sandalwood. Cocooning, nice for fall and winter. It is like a white scarf... Unisex for sure!

The first few minutes had me broadcasting a very dramatic rejection. Look, I love Zadig&Voltaire's This Is Her... but this is her dry and scratchy armpit. Cough. Milky? No way. It opens with a mishmash of stale hazelnuts scattered over peppery wood shavings, dehydrated enough that I actually wondered where the “milky” part had wandered off to. The woods have that modern synthetic rasp, not unpleasant exactly, but abrasive enough when scattered generously amongst cupboard baby formula. THANKFULLY though, bit by bit the composition softens. The nuttiness becomes rounder, sweeter, almost toasted, while a creamy salted musk slowly seeps through the grain of the woods. It’s super incredibly extra intimate, less a perfume than something your own skin seems to quietly exhale, or a pat of scented powder here and there. It reminds me a little of a gentler Commodity Milk. Same warm woodsy-lactonic direction, except without that oppressive density that made Milk insulation-adjacent. Here it’s more like drinking a low-fat coconut milk latte beside an old wooden café window in late autumn, an ashtray still on the table from someone who left hours ago, dry leaves collecting outside. Baby-powder: that's the way, I guess.

this one is a bit of a miss for me. i do not hate it, but i also do not have much to say about it.. which might be the biggest criticism i can give. reading other reviews honestly left me a little confused because people seemed to be picking up on all kinds of different things. i never really managed to figure out what i was smelling. the opening did not really work for me, although i could not even tell you exactly why. it just was not something i enjoyed. the dry down was definitely better, but i still could not pinpoint any particular note. no milk, no woods, nothing really stood out enough for me to confidently identify. it kind of VAGUELY smelled of white chocolate but even then, no idea... overall it was.. okay. easy enough to wear, but ultimately very forgettable. unfortunately this one just never clicked with me.

Milky No Way starts as a toffee. So, milky indeed, but more on the dulce de leche side. At the heart of the fragrance I mainly smell tonka bean, with a creamy sandalwood and a hint of vanilla. In my opinion the tonka bean is what stands out in this fragrance, its changing tones are well highlighted. The scent feels rather dry in my opinion, even though the sandalwood brings a lovely and regressive creaminess. This might be because I'm particularly fond of musky and balsamic scents, and in Milky No Way the depth is brought by woods and tonka bean so this feels rather dry and flat to me. Nothing bad, overall the scent tested on paper is pleasant, it's just a key detail that makes the fragrance not working for me. Also, on my skin at times there is clearly a plastic smell...I don't smell this as strongly on paper.

Really interesting. Definitely reminds me of a chocolate on first spray, it is very woody and nutty. I’m not a huge fan of pepper personally, and I agree with others that it’s got this powdery perfumey feel to it. I’m beginning to associate tonka with this distinct powderiness I also smell in BDK Velvet Tonka and I’m not a huge fan. Edit: much better in winter. Reminds me of Ferrero Rocher, very chocolatey hazelnut, but it’s one Ferrero Rocher on a large wooden table and the woodiness dominates. I see the comparison to Commodity Book in the woodiness aspect.

Opens very nutty, then settles into a sweet creamy comfy and indeed super milky scent with tonka bean as a secondary note. Good call not to add vanilla to make it too basic. Projection and longevity are quite weak. This is a quality gourmant scent, but it's not for me.

It’s fine. Not groundbreaking but pleasant. To my nose, this is on the sweeter side. Warm and comforting but there’s something synthetic to it. Easy to wear in colder seasons.

To me, it smells just like a better version of Milk by Commodity but with an added hint of sweet nuttiness.

Soooo nauseating upon first spray I had to scrub it off. The opening is very clearly hazelnut, but not in the milky, kinder-bueno way I was hoping for. It’s sharp, woody and dry, almost like trying to swallow a fistful of hazelnuts with a dry throat and no water. I can’t speak on what the dry down is like because I could not wear it long enough to find out.

This perfume is very similar to R.E.M by Ariana grande. It’s a little sweet but the black pepper is a little overpowering, too musky for me. It gave me a headache.

Black pepper, sandalwood, milk, a tiny bit of hazelnut. This is not sweet, maybe a tiny bit later on. It is very woody and spicy at first, the creaminess from cream and hazelunt comes out later, but the black pepper turns into sandalwood, so it stilll remains that woody/spicy profile throughout wear. It is very interesting. Edit: I saw another review saying that it is milky in the same way that commodity's milk is and I agree sooo much! It is super similar.Both of them to me read as sharp fragrances, but commodity's milk is a glass of cold milk kind of sharp and this is a black pepper and hazelnuts in milk kind of sharp haha

Too nutty for my taste. I agree with a previous comment: the listed nutty note is hazelnut, but, specially at the opening it smells like peanuts. After a few minutes the nuts settle down and turns into a creamy-nutty perfume. A little bit synthetic but confortable. The dry down smells just like those milky sweet perfumes that are around and have the Bianco Latte DNA. Not groundbreaking but may be interesting to those who are madly in love with this sweet milky profile and also looking for the nutty twist.

It reminded me of Amouage Guidance, they DO NOT smell the same but they do have some similarities that makes me feel that if you like one, you will enjoy the other as well; maybe it’s the milky hazelnut. This is sweeter, gourmand and extra milky and more casual where as Guidance is classier and formal. Like a perfumed agua de nuez. Very lovely!

it smells fantastic dont get me wrong, but the performance makes it unbuyable, it lasts max 1.5 hours and even if so, nobody will be able to notice unless they skin close smell it. its a shame cause it could be my gav gourmand ever, and i say that as a person who doesnt exoect a beast mode performance anyway

This opens with a creamy, smooth allure that instantly feels comforting. At first, I assumed it to be a clever blend with a warm nutty twist. However, the nutty note soon becomes a bit overpowering, losing its balance. Overall, it’s unique but not the easiest wear for long hours

reminds me of Vietnamese Coffee by d'Annam! gourmand but there's something else there.
