Faux Rose

I like it! Considering getting a fb at some point. It's strong on the honey so if you don't like that stay away. I'm usually not one to spout, 'gourmands can't be worn in summer!!!' but.. This one, could genuinely be too much in hot/humid weather.

This is a sweet sticky shiny slimy sickly rose compote in a little jar. Too sweet and full on for me but I understand why it’s a hit. I don’t get much cake but the honeycomb is quite waxy in an appealing way.

rose petals drizzled with honey, sprinkled on top of a pink buttercream frosting covered cake, that is being seductively devoured by a bodacious vixen lying on white satin sheets. she is wearing nothing but sprays of her perfumes and natural odor, and at the corner of her eye, her lover gazing by the door. a little background on Faux Rose as a brand, it is a one woman show ran by Amelia Rose who was a previous stylist of the late Vivienne Westwood. the brand mainly draws inspiration from the mid 20th century eroticism and hyperfeminine imagery, to which she translates them into seductive and beautiful scents. after taking faux rose on a ride, i'm starting to believe that rose gourmands can never do me wrong. i usually avoid honey notes like the plague because they end up having a cat piss dry down and this is not an exception. but somehow that stink, mixed with the lychee-like rose and cake made it stink in a.. sexy and alluring way. there's no iris listed in here, but the initial powder bomb you get when spraying this was exactly the lipsticky, powdery iris scent that i adore. as dust settles, then comes suddenly rains of sweet roses, and tiered frosting covered cakes presented on a plate infront of you. its undeniably vintage, sexy, and delectable. i'll be honest: will i ever get a full bottle of this? mmm... i'm hesitating. thats mainly due to my full bottle criterias being strict as hell, and there are two lines that this perfume crossed. 1. sickly sweet gourmand. 2. honey note. but the more i wear it, the more it convinces me that she's worthy of a purchase. maybe because it's winter that this works, and maybe if i ever tried this during the sweltering hot summer in korea i'd come to absolutely despise it, but right now at this moment... she's whispering good shit to my ears. who knows, lets see once i finish this 2ml decant. in the meantime i'm hearing callings from Dauphine to take her on a ride.

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. Sweet rose drizzled in honey. I don’t usually like powered scents but the powder falls away quickly & leaves an utterly divine sugary musk.
