Licorice

This is the smell of walking toward a candy shop. It is an upscale candy shop in a tourist town: the kind that sells handmade marzipan fruits and triangle shaped bags of roasted nuts. The fragrance opens with a licorice accord. The licorice here is not at all woody or fennel like. It is light, ethereal, and tinged with delicious star anise. It reminds me of the sugar coating that cocoons Good and Plenty candies, or black jelly beans. The licorice is accompanied by a complex sugar accord. This is not burnt sugar, or cotton candy. Instead, this sugar is crystallized and fresh, like a rock candy lollipop. In the base, we are delighted with a few surprises. Confectioners sugar and buttercream icing join the party. They add a rich creamy vanilla to the perfume. Then, Jordan almonds appear: slightly roasted, with Amaretto liquor facets. However, more than the nuts themselves, I smell the sugar coating of the Jordan almonds. I recommend this to anyone, male or female, who enjoys a true gourmand. I define a true gourmand as a fragrance that stays edible from first spray to dry down. A true gourmand contains no musk or woods. This would be a delight for hardcore licorice lovers. I also think this perfume might convert a few people who think they don't like licorice, because it it so incredibly delicious. This perfume would shine best in Summer! It's nostalgic, like a walk on the boardwalk in your youth: a salty breeze from the ocean blowing, vendors of sugary connections all around.

I was very happy to find this on eBay. Excellent blind buy for gourmand lovers. To me the opening was a little like Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo - Mandorlo di Sicilia Acqua di Parma, but sharper. The dry down was also similar to Vanille Outremer. I sprayed this inside my blouse and could still smell it on my clothes the next day. Love it

Unique and addicting - I only wish it could last longer!!!!!!

This is a really interesting scent. You definitely get liquorice in the opening (I hate liquorice to eat) but the dry down smells of jelly sweets. I have to say this is absolutely delicious. A very fun and unique fragrance, one I think is a must try due to just how unique this is.

This is maybe a little too sweet for me on its own, but layering it with a woody or spicy fragrance improves it. Smells like black licorice and sugar. Doesn't last very long and isn't a very strong scent.

Really, really well done. An addictive licorice scent with some added frills to keep it interesting. I imagine this is what the board game Candyland would smell like if it were a real place.

I swear this smells exactly like I expected it to smell. Pure licorice (which I love) with sugar on top. If there was a way to enter the candy crush app, that's exactly how it would smell. The perfume did give me a bit of a headache though.

I'm a huge fan of black licorice and this didn't do it for me at all. I mostly smell cotton candy with the faintest hint of licorice on the end. I was hoping for a more robust licorice scent but instead I felt like a kid at the fair. If you like sweet cotton candy, then you'll love this. However it very much wasn't for me.

many licorice accords don’t do it for me, but this one is black licorice for sure — a very waxy, anise heavy variety. so edible!! adding something more resinous underneath hits the nail on the head for a more “sticky residue in an allsorts bag” kind of vibe for me, which i feel is closer to the salty black licorice that i love (which does not have any anise flavoring). extremely short lived licorice, but longer lasting vanilla base — still poor longevity overall though. i will say, there are some very strange times where i’ve worn this by itself on long days and smelled the sugared vanilla at the end without reapplication. i really enjoy it regardless, this is a very fun one!

Very affordable house that I had never heard of before. Bought Licorice and Gourmand Power, will update once I get to sniff them!!! I hope it lasts more than just a few hours on my skin... considering the price, I don't have too high hopes but we shall see!!! Has anyone have any experience with performance from this house? Let me know!

The licorice accord is jammy instead of waxy; delicious. The type of perfume that smells like your skin is the one emanating a delicious aroma because it interacts with you body chemistry so wonderfully. Smells like a dark purple or dark magenta colored licorice instead of a black one. I also find it addictive.

Smells amazing, but so so light. It's gone within half an hour. Disappointing.
