Fan di Fendi Pour Homme Assoluto, complex name for a magnificent, classy, manly fragrance, and an excellent value for money. It opens with a beautiful blast of Oud (Oud is always present), Red Pepper and Cardamom. It's very loud and very pleasant, probably one of the best openings in an masculine Oriental cologne. It evelve with a bit of a timid patchouli and Vetiver. The drydown it's all about the omnipresent Oud flavored by sweet Myrrh and Tonka. Fantastic! No need of Rose or Saffron to tame the Oud as the Myrrh and Tonka do it with perfection. This is one of the most usable Oud fragrances I have ever experienced. I am not to familiar with the original Fan Di Fendi but I have smelled it before, and I thought it was pleasant but it did not grab my attention.. I had not heard of this Assoluto flanker either.. I was in Macys when a pleasant SA got my attention and was spraying fragrances on the tester strips for me but none of them appealed to me.. Than she said "I think you should give this one a try but I am going to give you a warning".. When she said that I knew what she meant so I told her to spray it.. After she sprayed it she began to tell me about the notes and how this Fan Di Fendi Assoluto contains oud.. After a few moments of sniffing the strip I began to detect a lot of oud.. I knew I liked it right away so I sprayed some on my arm.. Fan Di Fendi Assoluto opens up fresh and spicy with pink pepper and cardamom.. After a minute or two this fragrance begins to warm up and loads of oud begins to show itself along with some sage and vetiver.. In the drydown there is some opoponax and tonka which give the fragrance a hint of sweetness and there is a citrus note in the base that is there from beginning to end along with the oud.. Assoluto smells a lot like the original Fan Di Fendi but it is much more warm, rich, and unique.. I also could not help but be reminded of M7 Oud Absolu.. I really like this fragrance and now I will definately check it out some more and I will also check out the original..

I am very impressed with this one. Yes it is synthetic but in a very appealing way. This isn't messy or crowded it just smells good. Here is the problem I don't know how the notes correspond to the fragrance itself. It almost has a fruity sweetness to it. Almost a gourmand like sweetness. This is coupled with a decent Oud note that sort of reminds me of something Bond uses. It still has the leather aroma which actually may be the Oud and tonka/ resin notes joining forces. I believe the patchouli and vetiver may contribute to the longevity but honestly nothing I could identify on my own. I really like the spicy sweet leatherish aroma that this conjures up. Definitely full bottle worthy. I would put this into the same vein as Bonds Manhattan I would bet a blind sniff would have one guessing niche vs designer for sure. I like that some of these houses are at least pushing the envelope somewhere else. Now it seems that sweet is the new masculin (1 Million, YSL L'Homme Intense.. Eros....) but at least they are highlighting different notes when creating these fragrances. I would even say this could be on the unisex side to be honest. A bit more masculine than femme but a woman could pull this off if she likes an edge.

Fan di Fendi pour homme Assoluto This is a very surprising frag for me, as it wasn't what I anticipated, but blew me away with the quality and lovely scent. The initial spray is very spicy with sharp pink pepper and cardamom leading the way. The mid notes are apparent quickly, with the opponax and oud taking center stage. Neither note is overpowering, and in fact perfectly intertwines with the cardamom top to make a rich and beautiful, but not overly heavy, scent. The addition of citrus (orange?) and tonka absolute helps to brighten and smooth the final product, imo. This phase lasts for a while, and is a definite wrist-sniffer when nobody's looking. I thought this would be very heavy, but I feel its light for the notes it carries, enough to be worn year round. I must say, however, that I consider myself a light sprayer, rarely if ever going over 3 sprays, and 1-2 for reapply 6+ hours later. I love it and bought a large bottle after sampling. It's definitely in my top 10, take that for what its worth. Scent- 9/10 Longevity- 7/10 Sillage- 7/10

Definitely different from Fan di Fendi for Men. It's a little spicy, a little sweet, there's a touch of oud and patchouli, but what I get most of is a leathery quality. Vetiver? It's got to be the lightest vetiver I've experienced. And it's considerably more "mature" than something like The One for Men by D&G. What's great is that it's natural smelling and yet strikes a perfect balance, not being too rough/sharp or soft/smooth. I'll update if there are any major changes. Note that citrus is listed in the base, which is not likely - I'd' guess they mean cistus, but there was a "lost in translation" issue somewhere along the line. UPDATE: So, it develops into more of a spicy oudish scent with a slightly syrupy sweet quality. I'd say niche quality but niche hasn't impresssed me much lately, at least many of the recent releases. Projection is at least good with 2 sprays to the chest and longevity was great. Good job, Fendi people!

Wow, SO GLAD I grabbed this while I had the chance to get it at a very reasonable price from a good seller on eBay. Got this one and Bvlgari Aqva Atlantique for right at $100 each, which is a great price given they're going for over $200-$250 a bottle because of their discontinuation. Both are equally good bangers for opposite times of the year in my opinion, and it's not difficult to know which time of the year this stuff is geared for. This is probably the most daring Italian fragrance from a designer brand that I have tried this far into my little fragrance journey that's taken place over the past four or five years. If you are looking for a sexy, suave, ultra masculine Italian style male fragrance that oozes class and sophistication then look no further than this one right here!!! Just hope I can get another bottle before it goes out of stock everywhere!!!!!

Fan di Fendi Assoluto and Fan di Fendi Pour Homme share my favorite leather note in perfumery. I was a very early buyer of these two bottles and loved them from first spray. I am displeased they did not find their market because they were superior in my opinion and unfairly overlooked. They were superior to bottles costing 400+% more and the reviews from many of us were glowing. The leathery incense of Assoluto is so much more satisfying than the popular Bentleys and never oppressive. The strength of these bottles was just right and sit in the air and the nose just perfectly. Assoluto is a true joy to wear and to experience. Good for work, but better for entertaining and nights out celebrating because the scent is a celebration. Fendi is one of the reasons I look forward to cooler months.

Today in the Cleveland area we had our first big storm and in this brisk cold I wanted to wear one of my strongest fragrances and I chose this one.. I work in retail so I only sprayed 4 sprays and wow!!! I applied it this morning and I can still smell it on me.. I had a female customer in the store and she told me that I smelled amazing told her what it was.. she looked it up on her phone for her fiance’ she was amazed by the price.. Long story short I ended up making a sale and making someone’s valentines day shopping much easier.. This fragrance is dark, smoky with a sweet touch.. This fragrance currently sits just outside my top 10 in my collection.. it’s a shame it’s getting discontinued.. May buy another bottle just to have.. 8.5/10

I like this. I laughed when I sprayed this the first time. Dill Pickle opening. I have never smelled that. That olfactory mirage ended after about 3 minutes, and the middle blooms with suede-y hints and pink pepper and oud. This does smell like power and gravitas, but is not oppressive. The oud is extremely dry here and at odds with some of the other notes. It is a bit light amongst the heavy. There is lots of nuance and much to admire. FdF Assoluto does smell very different on either skin or clothing. The clothing scent is softer and again, contributes to a nuanced and evolving scent experience. I bought this from FragranceNet at $26 with their 35% coupon, and it is a great deal. So move fast.

Hate to sound like a broken record, but as with original Fan di Fendi Pour Homme, the loss via discontinuation of Assoluto is truly one to mourn. I suffer from "last bottle-itis" and probably don't wear it as often as I should since it's gone now and bottles on eBay are approaching $300, but this is a Spectacular (yes, with a capital S) combination of a mild designer oud, spice and balsamics - to the point that I could also imagine it as the oud flanker to Midnight in Paris that we never got. Not beastly projection to my nose, but leaves a very good sillage for 3-4 hours (on me) and the performance is surreal - well over 10 hours before I can't smell it anymore.

Friends, thank you for your reviews. Saw this on a bargain shelf and based off of my earlier test when the original came out years ago, bought this one blind. Beautiful; initial thoughts are that someone muted my kokorico, which my wife would say is a good thing. While they don't share the same notes, they have a similar cocoa patchoulli vibe, but the gentle oud in this makes it much more mature. Lasts all day, and projects well for the first 3 hours before settling down. Wonderful, wonderful juice for someone who has had poor luck with oud. It's getting a lot of rotation for office daytime wear in fall and will be sticking around til spring.

This stuff is intense. Like one spray of CK Obsession and one spray of Bvlgari Man in Black right to the face; while chomping down on one of those hot dried peppers used in kung pao chicken. It’s peppery all day, floating over an ambery, woody, hint-of-dry-orange vibe. Very little sweetness. Diaz and Pimento from Brooklyn 99 both smell like this. Dangerous, no nonsense, tight bodied; dark jeans, black leather jacket and boots (yes—could be unisex if you meet the above description). Great all day performance on skin, but short lived on clothing (interestingly, it’s significantly more mild mannered and citrusy on clothing as well).

Mmmm....a big hit of oud, oppopanax and sweet tonka. Spiced up and given kick from the cardamom, a little vetiver and pink pepper. On the opening I thought it was a touch too masculine and I wobbled. It settled and after 15 minutes or so I liked it much more. The heat of my skin makes the tonka come into its own and be the starring note. It's now much more of a spicey tonka scent and pretty much unisex. You know, it smells like Xmas! I nearly bought J Malone Tonka and Myrhh. I'm so glad I didn't. I'd also love to smell this on my oh. He'd have to fight me off lol I get moderate sillage and good longevity.

Fan di Fendi Assoluto is a spicy, balsamic, woody and little smoky fragrance. Its initial smell is very spicy with smoky woods, maybe is pepper with someone balsamic chord. After time it develops to something woody and semi-sweet, where patchouli and tonka can be feels. This fragance is a very good choice for fall and winter seasons, because its smell is warmy and spicy. In my skin it lasted near to 12 hrs. I recommend it for someone who loves spiced and woody fragrances, in the style of Bvlgari Man in Black or Burberry London for Men. The problem now is that is very difficult to find it.

@colhiggs - Im sorry but who said this fragrance was suppose to smell like M7? Just because it has oud in it doesn't mean it was intended to smell anything like M7.. Oud is just one ingredient which is in hundreds of perfumes.. Constantly comparing all fragrances which contain oud to M7 makes no sense as they are all completely different fragrances that just happen to share one note in common.. This fragrance was meant to smell like an intense version of the original Fan Di Fendi, not M7 and it did that very well.. One of the best flankers I have seen in a while..

Fan di Fendi Assoluto is only for cooler months. One of those which smell different on clothes and on skin. In skin it's a bit more balsamic than in clothes where it turns sweet. The dry down is powdery. Not for a young person, it will be great for formal events. A 100% test before you buy fragrance. For me it was not a like initially but it grew on me after 2-3 full wearings, now I love it. I personally like to wear at work related meetings as it's both inviting yet confident and manly. Some spice, a touch of sweetness and oud. If this is the 1st oud scent you have smelled then it maybe overwhelming. It's a bit dirty also due to patch and vetiver. It's a good maybe not great scent. Silage is above average and longevity is great! It has nothing in common with anything by YSL, as Dolcethedon has mentioned. This is the 1st Fendi I have ever smelled and I might be tempted to buy a bottle. A great designer release that has been overlooked tremendously.

I like a lot because it is different from the mainstream of the perfumes that are going out now.do I wonder me only because has gone out in March and not in winter?for me is a mix ok M7,ENCRE NOIR AND TERRE D'HERMES EDP. very sweet in final.

I was given a spray on the arm with this fragrance in a Champs Élysées perfume house in Paris two days ago. The Sales Assistant was quite generous and gave me a sample to take with me. I liked the smell at the time and like it even more now. I have not been acquainted with the other fragrances that this has been compared to, except Jean Paul Gaultier's Kokorica, which is debatable. I really like Assoluto, I will be buying this juice soon.

I love the scent when I first tested it, I got good longevity out of it, so I bought it wore it the next day 1hr and nothing and I'm seeing all these beast mode reviews, or is it my nose that has just gone blank to the fragrance? I just don't know man it smells so thick and strong I get more out of varvatos scents than this. I just don't know... returning it. keeper just going nose blind.
