Furiosa

I bought Furiosa mainly because Luca Turin's review piqued my interest. I thought, why not; this one might become a collector's item since it has been in production for only one year and all Fendi fragrances are discontinued, and the note pyramid seemed quite good. The first time I smelled it, my first thought was - oh no. It features the same opening as many of its contemporaries: Fruity, bright pink pepper, underlined by the citrusy character of bergamot. I'm not a real fan of the opening since it's quite powerful and fruity notes don't always enamor me. The opening persists for about 15 minutes and then the florals start to show up. Gardenia takes the main stage, showing off with her radiance and slight creaminess; at the same time, the jasmine and stock act as background singers; jasmine providing the sweetness and the stock casts a slight, spicy veil over the composition. The gardenia starts to mellow out , retaining it's creamy facet, and melts together with the jasmine and stock. Amber appears and gives the composition it's warm, plushy character. Guaiac wood provides a woody tinge and I can also detect a slight whisper of incense. The drydown is creamy amber, lightly spiced and complemented with some powder. I can still smell the gardenia/jasmine every now and then, though. Sillage is huge in the beginning and is quite powerful during Furiosa's development. It's longevity is also great. The whole composition seemed vaguely similar to something I had smelled before, and as two reviewers aforementioned, Furiosa has some connection to Black Orchid, or rather it's flanker - Voile de Fleur. Furiosa is Voile de Fleur's sister; they're pretty much alike in composition, being both luminous compositions, except Furiosa is a bit more one-dimensional: it misses the brightness of the ylang ylang/cassis and the sweetness of the plum. However, Furiosa consists of VdF best aspects; it's just a sepia, amber tinged version of the latter. All in all, Furiosa is nothing ground-breaking, but it is very pretty and very well balanced. It is lush and elegant. Even though the florals and amber are quite sweet, it isn't toothachingly so. It would have benefited from a bit more guaiac wood and incense, though. Regarding Luca Turin's comment on Furiosa being a plushy masculine; I think most men would still find it too feminine in the opening and middle stages. However, the drydown is firmly unisex. Is it worth buying against huge prices, simply because of it's discontinuation? To be honest, I'd say no, but I like it *a lot* better than most recent launches. I'm sad to see it disappear of the shelves so fast. So if you're into white floral centred perfumes with a warm, woody background, I'd say, give Furiosa a try.

I am a Fendi fanatic. For an 80's baby pouring over Vogue magazines, the Fendi brand exuded the powerhouse, severe shoulder pad, Delorean, red leather-gloved, "greed is good" feel of the '80s. Unlike its American, French, and English brand peers, the Italian fashion house made that mix of coke-fueled hedonism more earthy? Human? To me, Fendi feels like decadent fabrics, draped over a generous flesh decorated with large semi-precious stones set in 18k gold... a rosary disappearing into ample cleavage. With the discontinuation of the Fendi scents, any perfume or cologne I come across I am buying. No questions asked and no hesitation. Fendi Furiosa was no different; as soon as I saw the gold honey comb bottle I knew it had to be mine. The opening peppery citrusy blast melds perfectly into the wallflower and gardenia. I do not pick up the jasmine, but I rarely do unless it's the prominent note. The dry down to the incense and amber combination is fist-bitingly sexy. When I wear it, I feel like going to an Italian restaurant, with outdoor seating, ridiculously overdressed in a St Johns Knit tweed pantsuit with large hanging expensive baubles on all my extremities, eating rich pasta dishes and drinking decadent pinot noirs, while punctuating my conversation heavily with my hands. Fendi Furiosa smells fabulously flamboyant. It has an arm's length projection on me, and the sillage is decent. It lasts a good 4-6 hours for me. I love it.

Initially i get a sour citrusy blast of pink pepper but it's not unpleasant. The florals keep it from going into the sharp or bitter territory. I get mostly pink pepper with a woody backdrop, with the florals pulling it into feminine territory ever so slightly. As the pepper fades you're left with some spicy white florals. Someone else painted the mental image of a businesswoman wearing leather under her business casual clothes and i'd say that imagery is spot-on. I think this one seems also quite wearable year-round. It doesn't feel heavy enough to be cloying in hotter weather, i could be wrong though. I think even a man could rock this if they were okay with the floral element. It's not sugary sweet by any means. This one is a love for me. I think once the initial pink pepper overdose subsides after 20 minutes it becomes pretty mass pleasing. I like a daring perfume that pushes the boundaries of convention a bit (which many designer fragrances seem hesitant to do, lest they become too challenging to wear) and this one did not disappoint. Sad to see this one discontinued. Glad i got a bottle while i could, it's beautiful.

This is absolutely amazing and massively underrated, what a gem! I blind bought it out of curiosity and after reading some reviews but still had no real idea what to expect. One word stuck in my mind reading those reviews: chameleon! It is true! This is very unusual scent, it reveals itself in stages. Yet, it is somehow familiar to me-was it popular at some point?! I don't know. But it feels classic and even a bit retro sometimes, BUT at the same time modern and not dated. Very weird! Spicy, hot spicy, floral, smoky, woody.... it is all of this but very unusual combo. It feminine, assertive, daring, loud and spicy in the beginning and very beautifuly floral at the drydown. If this had a niche brand name on, I am sure it would have gotten tons of raving reviews, indeed it's a niche quality here that you are getting for a laughable price. As it is discontinued, the price will probably go up and I would grab a back up bottle and would advice any perfume lover to try this. Proceed with caution but do try it, it's so worth it!

Wow, I am so in love! Furiosa is the perfect name for this feminine scent-shifting gem! It is indeed the chameleon of perfumes, as previous reviews mention. I have been wearing this throughout a Texas winter... which means the temperatures have ranged from the 20's to the 80's in just the last few weeks! Furiosa morphs with the weather flawlessly. On frozen nights, it projects more warm, ambery and close to the skin. On the warm nights, the florals and incense pop. The warmer the weather, the more chameleon it behaves... showcasing each note as it takes you on a scent adventure. The jasmine in this is my favorite of any perfume, and the incense is perfect. Not too faint, yet not overwhelming. Not too woody. The projection also rises with the temperature. It lasts on my skin for about 8 hours, and lingers on clothing for over 24 hours. Smells amazing on a leather jacket, as all offerings from Fendi do. The warmer weather vibe is more dark and mysterious. The gilded turtle bottle is beautiful and unique!

This doesn't smell much like Truth or Dare, but Furiosa has that same thick white floral sweetness in the beginning. Once it dries a little it becomes smoother as the amber and wood gives this a nice backbone. It's perfumy and noticeable thus not really appropriate for work, as this is more dressed up than dressed down. The dry down is slightly chalky, kind of powdery but more resinous while the incense is like a whisper, very faint but it's definitely there. The opening is all woman, and might be a challenge for some guys to wear. Once it dries down this can be unisex as the amber and incense plays out but it's still kind of sweet. Maybe like a lighter, more floral Champaca Absolute with the cognac taken out and jasmine mixed in. Overall this a fine fragrance, very well made and high quality. Paid almost nothing for it at Marshall's. If you see Furiosa at a deal, grab it as you won't be disappointed. This is an undercover gem from Fendi, thumbs way up.

Furious, the name is quite deceiving: if you're thinking of a strong, dark, sharp perfume, well this is not the case. On the contrary, this fragrance is as luminous as its bottle suggests: it is warm, somehow sweet, but not in an ordinary way; the flowers are not overpowering and it is very balanced. It gives me the idea of a woman that is strong and independent and sweet and caring at the same time. A wife and a lover. Interesting, you have to smell it. Furiosa, un nome che non descrive la fragranza: se pensate ad un profumo forte, cupo, pungente, beh non è questo il caso. Al contrario, questa fragranza è luminosa come la sua boccetta suggerisce: è calda, dolce, ma non in modo stucchevole e banale, è floreale ma non invadente ed è ben bilanciato. Mi dà l'idea di una donna forte ed indipendente, ma al tempo stesso dolce e affettuosa. Una moglie e amante. Interessante, da annusare.

Man, I totally feel the reviewer MsHeisenberg when she said Furiosa is "her precious!" I was totally blown away by this and an so sad they no longer make it. I kept debating buying a backup of the 100ml, until it sold out anywhere (non-resale) I could find it in the UK. WAAH! I will have to make my current 50ml last. This perfume is beautiful, dark and interesting while still being very feminine and wearable. I find it similar (although not a dupe) to Tom Ford's Black Orchid. Its got that same dark, floral, gothic vibe but not quite as heavy (or long lasting). Its also a bit younger. I love Black Orchid but my mother always thought I smelled "like an old lady" when I wore it around her. This doesn't have any of that. If you like Black Orchid, I think you will like this, its like BO for daytime. Or if you want to like BO but find it too much, you also might like this.

One of the most unusual perfumes in my wardrobe, & for the better. I tend to dislike & therefore avoid pink pepper, but I was so curious about the wallflower note that I decided to risk the blind buy (and I'd at least have the cool bottle.) Baby steps. Now I'm starting to love it. SOMETIMES Furiosa is chaotic; doesn't follow the pyramid structure really. For example, the pink pepper belongs in the base, to my nose. Gardenia up top? All the more delightful. Perfumes such as this show me pink pepper can be pivotal in adding depth and interest. I do love a scent that has my gears turning. There is a beautiful (slight) resemblance to Dune--is that the wallflower? It is categorized as a fantasy note on this site, but there's something that grows wild in my area that looks like that picture and smells like a cross between lilac and heliotrope. Hmm.

I'm surprised this is being slept on but that's ok because it can be our hidden gem! Furiosa is stunning and the bottle elevates it even further. I'm not too fond of peppery notes in perfume but this is how you do it right! The white florals and amber counterbalance the pink pepper perfectly. It's as if each note is curated like a perfect bouquet of flowers. On my first spray I found there was a unique complexity that made it hard to describe and that's what I love about it. If I had to simplify it I would say it reminds me of pencil shavings but in the best possible way. Furiosa is such a unique scent and a new classic in my eyes. I found an 100ml for $65 - I had no clue this was discontinued until I read other reviews but I'm so glad I have a site that stocks this for a discounted price! Rating: 4.5 out of 5

As children in summer we would run around all day in the sun, climbing trees, riding bicycles, rolling around in the grass. Then at dusk it was time for a bath, dinner, storytelling and bed. After our baths we would douse ourselves in a mentholated dusting powder, great for prickly heat and the itching from rolling in the grass. This is so nostalgic for me. It smells like that powder, but more expensive. It makes me feel safe and loved and cozy. It's a slightly peppery, bittersweet smokey floral. I don't know what wallflowers smell like, but the jasmine and gardenia are present. What does it for me is the balsamic and smokey vibe. Smelling it today it's sweeter than when I normally wear it in autumn and winter when it reveals a spectacular bitter bite.

Was very intrigued by this one because of the reviews that said it kind of smells like black orchid from TF. I personally do not like that one, but Furiosa is just such a good fragrance on its own. I am getting ''goth taking a walk on a late autumn evening while fog is slowly creeping up''. the pink pepper is strong at first, but it mellows down after 10-20 minutes. This perfume grows on you, it's feisty but at the same time you will not get complains about it being too overpowering. get it while you can for the dark academia vibes, you will not regret it. Sad it's discontinued, smells really expensive too for its price. oh and on top of that, the bottle is just fantastic. :)

I can see there is some speculation in reviews below about whether Furiosa is discontinued. I uploaded the below to another Fendi perfume page:- I was trying to find out some information about Fendi perfume and emailed Fendi direct as there was no information on the website about fragrances. This is an extract from the email (dated January 3 2017) I received in response: "We regret to inform you that Fendi fragrances are no longer available for purchase as Fendi does not produced (sic) them anymore." In summary - if you love the perfume you wear, buy backup bottles NOW before the prices go through the roof. Hope this helps you.

Peppery sweet ambery incensey white floral enchantment! Furiosa by Fendi reminds me the tiniest bit of EL Sensuous, but it meanders off into a much brighter and "juicier" realm, despite the drier wood notes. The wallflower smells a bit spicy, almost carnation-like, which tempers the intense sweetnesss of the gardenia and jasmine. It's no insult to say that this juice almost lives up to the sheer perfection that is the bottle. Because, whoa, that bottle. It's probably the most beautiful bottle qua bottle in my entire collection, and I include all my ornate Arabian vessels!

Poor Fendi. I have no idea why they even make perfumes, when they devote ZERO time to marketing them??? Furiosa barely had time to collect dust on the shelves before it got axed. Furiosa was a poor name choice for this gentle fragrance, but it WAS GOOD! I love the dose of lime, which lingers, mixing with the amber and gardenia. Longevity and silage are excellent!!! I was happily able to score some large 3.3 ounce bottles for under 40 bucks each.....and I scooped up TEN of them! (It was on eBay.....sadly, they are all gone at that price.)

Oh this is loooveleeey! :-) But hang on, where is it gone??? Scent: Starts flowery and fresh, then quickly turns spicy and aromatic. It’s divine. Without a doubt one of a kind. Silage & Longevity: Sadly zero. Value for money: Got 30ml for £20. Am I disappointed? No, I’m glad I have it as there aren’t many scents like this around, especially not for this price. Furiosa is for true perfume connoisseurs who don’t have to leave a trail behind them all the time, but are equally happy enjoying a scent having a quiet moment on their own.

I believed this fragrance are more for the cold weather, but I sprayed yesterday at middle of summer time. I just surprized very different feeling gave it to me. In the cold weather I feel more warm Wallflower that makes me under the sunny warm place and I enjoyed every time I use it, yesterday I found out more Gardenia Jasmine and Amber that give me sensual summer time feeling. I love Furiosa more and more, and I'm very happy that I blind bought it!

Wow, a purely autumnal perfume, a gloomy afternoon... an exciting and mysterious perfume, the incense is extraordinary here, it gives the perfume an almost "Gothic" atmosphere. On the bottom a beautiful amber, i must say that surprised me, and i will definitely take a bottle because it is well made and adapts to my being. Introverted perfume, which reflects me a lot. I love it! Sillage: 7.5/10 Longevity: 8.5/10 Scent: 8.5/10 Overall: 8.5/10

Mmm an interesting fragrance. I'm not always good with white florals but this works. The amber and spicey fresh wallflower notes warm up and soften the white flowers. I like the sweet zing of the lime which lightens everything. I can't say I find it a particularly harsh or angry fragrance and not sure where the oud is. The drydown is a deal breaker for me. Its just flat and too masculine. Moderate longevity and sillage on me.

this smells odd on me yet very good and addicting. it’s a golden floral-amber with hints of something sweet and almost plummy. there’s also creamy and smoky nuances too, as well as something bordering on savory. an absolute love now, after trying in different seasons, but is for a certain mood and changes a lot with the weather. i have nothing else quite like it in my collection. amazing bottle too.

I got it as a blind-buy when I saw the price tag. To me it reminds me of an old church or cathedral - quite dark, I get a lot of incense and a very beautiful peppery note. A stunner, especially for fall and winter. Mysterious. Definitely unique. Unfortunately it's been discontinued so I when I had an opporutnity I went and bought another bottle ASAP once I smelled it for the first time.

This is pretty unique due to the wallflower note. It gives a sweetness and is really nice. I also get gardenia and what I’m assuming is the incense. As others have said, it definitely gives me sunny and warming vibes. Like the sun shining down on you and warming you while outside on a spring day. I’m glad I was able to find a 50ml bottle of this on a secondhand site.

Furiosa is just a bit spicy. No anger here. I mainly get a sweet pepper that is subtle and held back by florals and a tiny amount of smokyness. Lasts well, around 6-8 h on me, but doesn't project that much. It's one that I reach all the time because of the the great composition. Not a fave but definitely close to. I am happy I have a large bottle!

Oh, this is divine. So strong resembles to TF Black Orchid but it's more wearable, you can wear it... FT BO wears me when testing.. Very potent fragrance with huge sillage and longevity: Woody notes with amber play the main rule and I strongly smell chocolate and patchouli which is not listed. My husband wears it too, totally unisex.

Pink pepper and bergamot opening is so smooth and herbaceous. Spicy, honeyed and woody. Beautifully sweet white florals. Nothing is overbearing. Remains rich but does quiet down in projection after a few hours (unless that's just my greedy nose). I get a soft incense throughout the wear. Such a great fragrance! Feisty and feminine.

Absolutely in love with this scent because every time I sniff it, I am reminded of the interesting facets this scent has. It kind of resembles the smell of pencil sharpenings but in a sweeter more floral manner. It is unique in its own persona and needs confidence to be pulled off with élan

I have Furiosa, which I bought from reseller. The scent is very distinctive and vibrant. It's floral with smoky incense and herbs. It's perfect for a sunny autumn day, but I enjoy wearing it at other times too. The bottle is a treat in itself, a work of art. Big love for me♥️

sophisticated yet wild, modern and charming. great blend of woody and floral notes, with soft touches of honey, leather and amber. i like a lot on a strong, confident woman. for 25 and up. per una donna sicura e conquistatrice. my vote-9 in one word- furiosa

Wow. This is gorgeous. It’s somewhat like a more palatable Black Orchid. I love BO but even I can agree it’s a bit much. This smells like a sleek rich lady CEO with red lipstick, hidden piercings, and a closet full of latex.

Are you kidding....this perfume is gorgeous! It has a perfect Gothic vibe. An elegant smokey flower scent. I imagine Morticia Addams wearing this. It's not very furious though; this is very feminine and classy.

From the very beginning I get the gardenia/jasmine and it's gorgeous!! I seldom wear florals but this one gets added to my short list. It was a very happy birthday gift to myself and a blind buy.

Very nice amber with florals and pine notes. It's a sweetish pine scent, which is very beautiful and feminine, yet fresh and unique. Furiosa is definitely a good name for this fragrance.

Furiosa was born under the star of a house of perfumes famous in other times but entered a shadow today, at least from a perfumery point of view. So she was widowed by the publicity she deserved. And that would have propelled her into the spotlight. And on the shelves of perfumeries. It is a classic but also modern perfume, it has a natural elegance, versatility and above average performance. If you like an absolutely unique green floral scent and Chanel no 19 seems to you not the most suitable, it is worth trying Furiosa. It is both amber and slightly woody, with depth. I seem to feel a little labdanum, although not listed, maybe from incense. It has about the same vibe as Essence Aromatique for it, but it lacks citrus. In Furiosa bergamot it feels extremely little, only in the first minutes after application. Furiosa has the specific note cheirantus . I took it blind, following the reviews on .com and I confess that it is a wonderful purchase and my collection would not have been complete without it. . Unfortunately, it seems that all Fendi perfumes are discontinued. :( Let's not forget: the bottle is a real jewel, metal and crystal! My beloved turtle !!! <3

This gorgeous scent is a truly heady blend of powerful hot-earth florals, incense, and sweet wood. The bergamot, noticeable on application, becomes rapidly obscured by a potent combination of radiant gardenia, exuberant Jasmine and smokey incense. Aspects of this is reminiscent of the heat and aromas in souks and bazaars of north Africa and the near east. Also evocative of the jetset who frequented the nicer restaurants and hotels of beautiful Beirut before civil war in the 1970s blighted the region. All that stored-up heat mentioned above settles to an authentically exciting floral-oriental. Even after a long day it remains a delectable stayer whether on the skin or on clothes. Furiosa always gets noticed and draws plenty of compliments. The eye-catching flacon that recalls a tortoise carapace is chic and modern, and has the heft and finish consistent with the quality of the contents. In summary, I can't say enough how thrilled I've been having encountered Furiosa. My first few months with Furiosa has been impassioned if not quite "fierce". An apt name then! It is definitely worth searching and trying. Enthralled.

I bought this due to the interesting reviews here. I only got a small spray thinking if I love it, I can pick up a bigger bottle later. Now it looks like, from other reviews, it has been discontinued. However, as of 12/5/2020, it's still available online as far as I can see. When I first spray this, I get a lot of pink pepper and amber. It settles down in about 30 minutes and now I can smell some gardenia, a little jasmine, and the wallflower. Wallflowers are also known as stock, an annual flower big in cottage gardens that has a spicy-sweet scent. They are not only beautiful, they are highly fragrant and easily grown from seed. This spicy-sweet, almost clove-like smell carries the perfume on into the next flowery phase and then mixes with the incense/amber at the bottom. This is one perfume that changes constantly, different notes swirling around all the time. I smell strong incense one minute, then gardenia the next. On me, this lasts around 8 hours and sillage is moderate. I think a man could pull it off.

A cheapie with charm and some unexpected strength and depth. Nice burst of citrus in the beginning then a little swirl of amber and smoke kick in along with the pepper. I'd adore this if it stayed the way that it smells about 45 minutes in forever - the pepper is exhilarating, zingy and tickly... but sadly the amber begins to edge out the more individual things, and it ends up as a pleasant but not all that exciting floral-amber. I don't really like florals and I'm amber-ambivalent - yet still I liked and admired this a lot. It really is not mysterious, or exotic, or furious in any way - it's mellow golden sunshine, not simmering smoking fury - but you might be surprised. Much more mainstream than niche but none the worse for that. Doesn't smell like a million dollars, or of old money, but its bang for buck is still way way above the norm. It's available in the UK at *very* reasonable price so is worth experimenting with - and buying up loads if you like it, if all Fendi perfumes are really discontinued.

Pink pepper-amber-floral that somehow reminds me a touch of Addict. Strangely enough, Furiosa also faintly reminds me of a distant cousin of Ange ou Demon. But definitely uniquely itself, not a dupe for either. I'm QUITE surprised, as Pink Pepper generally does not suit me. The scent is strong but softly dries down to a quite creamy sweetness. Having never in my life smelled 'wallflower' (hehe!), I wonder if the reason Furiosa smells unique to me is the guaiac wood? Certainly it is 10 times better than your average designer release without smelling niche or challenging. I suspect it's considered by some 'too mature', but to me this is a people pleaser. Good for amber lovers or floral lovers who want added richness. I note a bit of powder that could annoy some. It is more creamy and dry than powdery, however. Recommended!

What a difference 2 1/2 years can make! I originally reviewed this in Oct. 2017, at the beginning of my perfume journey and development as a full fledged perfumista. I have to say that I still get the same primary notes - amber, incense, etc. - but my nose now picks up on a sweetness and floral delicacy I missed the first time around. I still don't get any gardenia or jasmine. What made me laugh though was that at that point my reference and favorite write florals were Bloom and Alien - two perfumes I still love very much, but far from the first I reach for when I need a white flower fix! Apparently 2 1/2 years is a lifetime in the world of fragrance! Oh - and I still have no idea what wallflower is supposed to smell like, but if it's the big note here, I have to say I like it!

This is really very interesting and I will have a hard time explaining it. Another name for Furiosa is Curiosa, it’s not niche but it’s also not a mainstream scent. I’m pretty sure I don’t own anything else like it. The combination of notes lends to a peculiar overall feeling: initially on me it’s very “jammy” with lots of citrus, pepper and sweetness. I don’t pick up the floral notes individually, only some woods and I don’t know what else in the drydown. This is an oddball scent for sure.... I just get an overall “perfume” smell. I like it but I’m not in love. I do think Furiosa packs a lot of bang for your buck. I will keep my eye open for a bargain. Apparently this can be found for a good deal on eBay, and if you’re lucky TJMax and other discount stores.

It took me years of owing this perfume before I can write up this review. It's hard and complicated enough to describe about this perfume. It smell familiar, yet so different - peculiar. Something in the notes make the perfume less harmony and contradict to the other notes but I can't, nope, I don't know what is the disturbing notes that kills the harmony of this perfume. I guess its the guaiac wood as I get the same uneasy feeling from Oro by Roberto Cavalli. Anyway, this is my least favorite perfume and I only wore it twice. Staying power is around 5-6 hours with moderate projection. Sillage? Not so much. Suite colder season better. Discontinue, yet not worth it to pay hefty price to own.

The bottle is a piece of art! I have the 30ml one and it's absolutely gorgeous. It's like a tiny golden tortoise shell and it perfectly corresponds with the juice inside. Furiosa starts citrusy and kind of herbal on my skin and then the wallflower kicks in. It's so different from what I usually wear and look for and yet I like it. It's yellow and sunny, peppery and bitter, spicy and smokey. I detect distant resemblance to Samsara but Furiosa carries an assertive modern vibe and I can't really compare it with anything else. Would I repurchase? I'm not sure really. I just prefer warmer sweeter fragrances but I guess that eventually I might get to miss Furiosa in the warm autumn days.

Instead of commenting on the bottle, I'd like to comment on the fragrance that I've smelled yesterday. It's definitely a modern oriental floral one - sweet and soft, opening a bit fruity but drying down into something warm while passing some whispering flowers. I wouldn't call it a very loud perfume, even though the staying power and projection are quite good. The name for it I wouldn't have picked myself and frightens me unnecessarily... I wouldn't want to be, nor smell, furious. Nonetheless it smelled like something that fits my character and taste perfectly, but maybe only because it reminded me so much of my favourite TF Black Orchid...
