L'Acquarossa Elixir

I received this today (yet another blind buy) and spritzed once on the back of my wrist at about 5pm. Since then I have had a shower and I can still smell the fragrance faintly, despite a very good scrub to remove all traces of the perfume (Mystique, Al Haramain) I was wearing earlier today (which, incidentally, easily lasts 12+ hrs and I recommend; I am really enjoying exploring some of the UAE perfumes. They are incredibly good value and smell expensive, which puts the prices charged by Dior, Guerlain, Chanel etc. into perspective). I will update this review tomorrow, after I have given this the usual 24 hour wearing (with refresher sprays whilst at work, if necessary). This is stunning - beautiful and rich with great depth; the spray was very "quiet" on first spraying (the perfume had been sitting outside for hours on my doorstep in the cold, waiting for me) and initially I was concerned that it would have minimal sillage and longevity, but it definitely developed as it warmed on my skin. It is cold and damp in this part of the UK and - so far - I am not getting a lot of fruit from this. If cherry wasn't in the listed notes, I don't think I would have guessed it; this may be because of the temperature - I could be partially anosmic - or my chemistry may be having an effect. My skin does absorb light fragrances, hence my predilection for heady, heavy perfume. I haven't smelled lantana flowers, so am not sure what to expect from this note and Fragrantica is lamentably vague; I clicked on the link above to try and get an idea of what I was sniffing for, only to read "Flowers". Great. That cleared that up nicely then. I am glad I didn't Google the scent before ordering the perfume - the foliage is variously described as smelling like cat pee, fermenting citrus and gasoline. Yum. So... DEFINITELY not gourmand then. Fragrantica describes the leaves as having a "strong, spicy smell". Other websites describe the flowers as having a sharp, mossy odour. I cannot smell anything that vaguely matches any of these descriptions (yet), so maybe I will have to wait for the weather to warm up before I start smelling of cat pee. Alternatively, I could just rub some of my cats' used litter on my pulse points. Or not. I don't think this has been allocated to the correct group by Fragrantica (although I don't claim to be an expert!), but I would describe it as a floral woody musk rather than "oriental floral". I am enjoying this a lot at the moment... I will update tomorrow after a day at work. I have a couple of very honest friends who will tell me if I smell like cat pee, gasoline or fermenting citrus - fingers crossed I don't have that awkward conversation. Edit: Longevity 6+ hours (although a skin scent by then). Sillage: moderate. No one asked what I was wearing, but I overheard one of my students say that something smelled nice as they came in the library this morning. I had just sprayed when I got to work, so the sillage was probably noticeable as the students came in. I wear a different perfume every day too, so it's rare for one of them to mention it directly to me.

What a magnificent scent! So modern, elegant, sweet and wealthy. Beautiful, intricate and dense vanilla cherry elixir. It's a fleshy sweet cherry not a juicy one. The tuberose gently plaiting into the bunch please me a lot here. It's a gourmand and yummy tuberose echoing with wild strawberry. It's dense but not suffocating and not overwhelming. I do not know how lantana smells so can't detect it here. The botle is a big plus as it's so chic and class with it's gold cap and gold bottom. The mine is made in France by LVMH not in Italy. Excellent longevity on skin (with a normal type of skin). Brief it worth to fight on the beaches, the landing grounds, the lands, the hills and the streets for it ...

Very very pretty. Although this seems more like a fruity floral or MAYBE a floral woods type scent to me than an oriental, it is one of the few fruity floral scents on the market these days that really stands out to me. It's unique with definite personality. The cherry is most dominant on me and it opens up fresh and juicy. Later on it is softened by the woods and flowers, and remains a gorgeous cherry tuberose. I absolutely love it and will be searching far and wide for a back-up, since I only ordered a little 30ml bottle. Moderate sillage with good lasting power (good on me is over 4hrs, since my skin eats scents like crazy!) Recommended.

I bought a mini of this and fell in love. From the cherry opening to the creamy tuberose to the mildly powdered vanilla, it has so many notes I enjoy. I also tried the regular L'acquarossa but found that the lantana note didn't work on my skin. That same lantana is in Elixir, but I think because of the addition of the cherry and tuberose, I don't get it as strongly. This one does great on my skin and develops just beautifully. To me, this leans on the feminine side of unisex and I get good longevity and sillage from it. I'd probably wear it in cooler weather, daytime or nighttime. Really well-done.

I love this version of L'Acquarossa quite a bit. It is warm and sexy and yet not heavy at all. Perfectly balanced new quality out of the facets. Looking at the notes to deconstruct it - it does have a cherry lead, on a softest tuberose and maybe lantana - something honeyed, and a lovely small dose of vanilla on a beautyful wood. Oriental and gourmand without their side-effects. Perfect for a cold spring day, day and night, possibly even for winter and autumn and for the office. A rather universal scent full of charm. This is my favourite out of L'Acquarossas.

There is a sour cherry juice that I used to buy from the Middle Eastern market - this has the same tartness in the cherry. Every time I smell a cherry fragrance the sweetness devolves into lipgloss territory - ahem Petite Robe Noir - except here, it has a pleasing dryness, almost dustiness. The smell of sour cherries on a black forest cake. I really think the lantana reigns this in and I'm floored that this is so inexpensive. If you like cherries - but don't want to smell like oversexed jailbait - this is the perfume to try.

Not a review - but please read! I was trying to find out some information about Fendi perfume and emailed Fendi direct as there was no information on the website about fragrances. This is an extract from the email (dated January 3 2017) I received in response: "We regret to inform you that Fendi fragrances are no longer available for purchase as Fendi does not produced (sic) them anymore." In summary - if you love the perfume you wear, buy backup bottles NOW before the prices go through the roof. Hope this helps you.

I just received the perfume yesterday... And... Love it! Just perfect* Many people say this should be for older woman but I think it doesn't matter the age you have, only if you like strong fragrances you will love it! As I'm a big fan of strong fragrances and I'm 22 years old so I really feel this perfume is just perfect for me. The bottle is lovely :) I'm really happy for discovered this perfume.

Love this scent. It isn't heavy and does need to be resprayed, but to be honest apart from Hypnotic Poison most of my scents have to be resprayed. I can smell the cherry and vanilla, not the tuberose of lantana. Slight whiff of woods. The bottle is gorgeous and looks lovely on my dressing table. FAB

Good blind buy! Elegant, warm, penetrating, layered. Although, unfortunately, my body chemistry doesn't like this one and it starts fading away after 30 minutes, so just a faint albeit amazing drydown for me. I gave it to my mom, she is very impressed by it.

Great cherry/floral with that Fendi DNA going on. Since I have TF Black Orchid, I do smell the similarity on the dry down. Similar but not close enough to be considered the same. TFBO is sexier and more mysterious. L'Acquarossa Elixir isn't as aloof.

This opens very cherry thought not sour with some florals and spice. As it dries down it becomes more floral. Very lovely. Lots of tuberose balanced with spice and sweet fruit. Unique in the base.

I am somewhat disappointed in this blind buy. I had hoped that the cherry would be more detectable than it is. I suppose that this performs like a well blended fragrance on me in that it's hard for me to pull the notes apart. Even powerhouse tuberose doesn't shout. I'm not certain what role lantana plays and how it effects the composition mostly because I don't know what they are supposed to smell like. I suspect that they play a role in the slight bitterness I get at the top into the middle. Once it dries down, all bitterness goes away, and it does become very pretty. I think my initial disappointment was due to two factors. One is the forementioned slight bitterness from the lantana, though it just occurred to me now that that might also be because the note is SOUR cherry and I was expecting something a bit sweeter. The other reason was my own expectations of what I thought it would be like. I had in mind something closer to OG Lolita Lempicka. But now that I have it, understand it better, and truly enjoy the dry down, I am happy to own it and look forward to wearing it during the winter. I find both silage and longevity to be moderate. I sprayed fairly heavy and while it was noticeable, it was not loud. I prefer it to the original, but think the complement each other nicely, with the original being the sunnier day scent to this one's somewhat more sultry evening scent. If previous reviews are any indication, I may finally have to try TFBO! A solid Like, and a great bargain.

I bought a mini of this to give it a try and I like it, but not enough to buy a full size. This smells, to my nose like a cherry/white floral shampoo. There is an herbal cleanliness in the dry down that makes me think of a very high end natural, herbal shampoo product. And while this is nice, I think I will give it to the young waitress at the little luncheonette my husband and I frequent in our hometown. She loves perfume and the last time I gave her samples she was over the moon. I feel bad for the young kids trying to make it in the world today and it is fun to brighten her day a bit when I can, and I know she would enjoy this a lot more than I would. It smells young, playful and a bit flirty. Just right for her age. If you are looking for a sweet tart cherry and white floral shampoo type of perfume that will feel fresh and clean but still flirty and fun this is a good bet.

It smells exactly like the appearance of the bottle. It is the olfactory equivalent of that deep wine red color with gold accents. Dispersion is the name of the game with this one - I find a concentrated spray smells overwhelming, positively headache-inducing, while a spray from far away envelops you in this elegant cloud of tuberose cherry liqueur. It smells expensive. Even though the two top accords here on Fragrantica are "fruity" and "sweet" respectively, make no mistake - this fragrance packs a solid punch, it is "perfumey", much like the fragrances of yesterday. I can imagine that it becomes unbearable in blistering heat, but for crisp fall air and matching deep red lips and/or nails, it's a winner. I'd really like to smell this on a guy as well but I'm not sure how representative that opinion is overall.

Bought a mini off fragrencenet. I’m on my third or fourth trial run, and I think I’m falling for it. Initially I thought it was not working, a little too sweet perhaps. But every time I put it on it got better. I don’t like sampling from a splash bottle so I’m looking forward to trying this out as a spray. The cherry note is a bit synthetic and on the dry side. It’s apparent vanilla and tuberose give this scent legs. I’m not sure how this is accomplished, but this scent does feel unique and I try and not overuse that term when it comes to describing perfume, but that’s how I feel about this underrated Fendi. The drydown continues to be my favorite part. Slightly woody, it lasts for hours on my perfume eating skin. Discontinued but you can find it for cheap everywhere on line.

When you spray L'Acquarossa Elixir, you immediately know it is a Fendi perfume. I'm not sure what that common DNA is, but it is unmistakable. Once I get past the Fendi smell, I get a big blast of tuberose with a realistic cherry note rounding it out. It settles down to a skin scent in about an hour, and I can get pleasant whiffs of that cherry-floral-vanilla combination for 6-7 hours. However, I was hoping for a stronger cherry component than this provides. The cherry note is present for most of the life of the perfume, but it is a supporting player when I wanted it to be the star. This is a like for me, but not a love.

It is not a killer, it does not strangle, it does not scratch. Without kilograms of sugar, pungent patchouli and incense ... From the beginning, cherry is the prime, mixed with sweet vanilla, resembles cherries in liqueur (it is lovely). I was afraid of a greater share of lantana (the smell of which resembles a bitter orange), but it's just a tiny bit. However, it gives the composition that maturity. Unfortunately, with time the vanilla fades, rubber tuberose appears and the smell transforms into cherry tea. Until the end it sounds light and moderately sweet.

Tart cherry, spicy woods, sharp florals. If you’re looking for a syrupy, sweet cherry... this one isn’t it. It’s sharp and spicy but oh so lovely! It opens with a blast of sharp floral and cherry, not a juicy cherry, but a tart, underripe cherry. It mellows out to a nice fruity floral with some spicy elements that give it a “mature” feel. It’s feminine but not “girly. I also get a lipstick note? Something cosmetic, almost plastic. But I enjoy it. Lasting power is great as well!

Yesss @Nraveles, you are so right! I feel the Black Orchid vibe in the drydown, but you definitely have to wait for the drydown to feel how much of a direct cousin this is to Black Orchid. The opening for me was not all that good; it smelled too much of woods, which wasn't appealing to me. I had to wait many minutes, like past a half hour or into drop all that wood and get deep, elegant and incensy.
