Life Essence

What a absolutely gorgeous scent this is, so smooth and well blended. Picture you're walking past by or are even standing in a fertile flower garden that emits a beautiful smelling floral aroma and also has citrus trees in it, with the citrusses hanging riped ready to be plucked. This combined smell mixed in with a slight bit of spiciness from the cardamom, coriander and finally the sandalwood makes this the scent that it is. I have read people say this is unisex or feminine. Feminine? No. Unisex? Maybe. The thing with this one is that if you spray it in the air, you get a more prominent floral smell. On a male skin though, this definitely does not give me any feminine or unisex impression. This is a spicy floral scent done right for a man. Imo this almost borderlines being a masterpiece within it's own realm of scentprofile. It instantly brings me back to the sunny spring and summer days of the 90's. The days where people were so much more content with themselves and it was simpler having a fun time. Life essence is truly a fitting name for this one. Performance is solid, it projects strong for the first few hours and after 9 hours I could still smell it lingering around as a skin scent. The song that immediately came into my mind when I first smelled this: Shanice - I Love Your Smile. Overal rating: 9/10

Nose Note #328 Such an interesting spicy fragrance. Personally I can't imagine it on a woman. This has real citrus bite too. It does smell a tiny bit old-school - in this sense it's kind of fresh, but at the same time it's not really a summer fragrance. So far I've loved it. Very easy to wear - I can compare to the Montale and Mancera I've recently worn - almost all of them became sickening. This one is like "give me more". It's also about this kind of herbal note - maybe it's cypress or west indian bay, but it really adds a lot of thickness and bite to the citrus. This makes me want to try the dupes. Fragrance World Friend and Milestone Trendy Wood Intense. I wish they match the performance too because this one is just perfect

I’m a 57 y/o female and I’ve had Fendi Life Essence in my vast collection for 15 years. I have the OG Fendi for women too, and honestly, I like the scent profile of this better. Though it’s “mens fragrance,” in my opinion, it can definitely be worn by women as well. Life Essence is not my only men’s fragrance either. My perfume collection is very diverse - fresh, floral, aquatic, green, spicy, gourmand, woody, oriental, sweet, niche, girly, etc. - you get the jist 😄 I share some of my frags w my oldest Son, too ✨🤍

Gorgeous. Perfect for summer and the monsoons. No sharp notes at all. Quite feminine in my opinion. Husband used it too, and agreed it was more of a feminine scent. Gentle, fresh and alluring.Soft citrus, spices and a drydown that surprises you with it's delicacy. Dont think it can be offensive at all. And would suit all age groups, except teen's ofcourse. Very HARD TO FIND. P.S- Would appreciate any suggestions for a similar smelling parfum, this one is too hard to find.

After trying this F.L.E I bought 10 ml of that with no thinking over, because I very much liked it, if not to say, I fell in love with. As I'm not good at remembering the names, types, brands of perfumes, I was sure it was a feminine EDT, since I'd found it tender and beautiful enough. Anyway, I'M JUMPING WITH JOY, the shop-girl said it's probably gonna disappear, and I'm going to smell great - a man told me today there's a stylish aroma following me around.

i fell in love with this in a perfume shop some Christmases ago, but when i came back home i couldn't remember what was on my right hand near the right elbow :D ! After thorough investigation the culprit was found and the goods confiscated.. Later on Fendi discontinued it (you nuts ppl??) Totally unisex, veeery long lasting, unique, sexy and elegant.. and lovable under woolen sweaters on cold winter days :)

I truly love this scent. It's simple yet sophisticated like a white tank you can wear anytime anywhere, it's my first choice when don't know what to "wear". Also, I found out it's perfect for layering. I know, some people would want to kill me for that, but I like using it together with my all-time favourite Daim Blond to add some citrus-woody edge.

Life Essence and Cerruti SI are my all time favorites! Life Essence is a very special unisex fragrance. I love the cypress notes, geranium and coriander as well. On my skin it stays very very long. I hope Life Essence will be available in the future. It's getting harder to find it...

This scent is my life scent. It's literally essence of life. An all weather scent with the most perfect blending. Performance tops the charts. It's really sad they are not making it anymore and most of the bottles available online are fake. For me it's 20 over 10❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

Ahh the smell of the 90's... smells like Fendi put the whole decade in a bottle. Every note is blended to perfection. Million times Better than the mediocre releases we see nowadays. A shame they discontinued it 8/10

Opens with burst of citrusy notes, then gradually develop the spicy notes, after that sits as woody spicy scent. On my skin, it has medium projection with moderate longevity. A very good fragrance for hot weather

Makes an unexpextedly good female fragrance, espessialy in hot weather. It`s crisp, warm, not too citrusy, overall a well-rounded blend of wooden, grass and fruit notes. I`ve been wearing it this whole summer!

Fendi Life Essence does smell like the ideal essence of life that only matters. It smells calm, wise, and peaceful. Every time I lift and smell my wrist, my eyes close and say "Oooh,... paradise." -AB-

the best summer fragrance 10/10***

Fendi Life Essence is quintessentially Italian, citrus and woods mainly with some spices thrown in. It is a sunny, bright, happy fragrance, probably a tad on the unisex side so I can see why it puts some guys off as a reading of the notes alone looks very masculine but they way it is blended is in a slightly different direction. A woman could pull this off easily. It starts off with a spicy citrus blast, I get the bergamot, citrus and cardamom and then the woody notes start coming in. The dry down is mainly sandalwood and cedar with some sweetness and some floral notes. This is the kind of perfume, if you like it, is flexible enough to be worn anywhere anytime. I can see it working with a suit at the office or in shorts and sandals, just go easy on the sprayer as it can get cloying if over sprayed. works for all seasons except maybe in the height of summer after noon heat. Pretty great with a couple of sprays for summer nights though. Projection and longevity are pretty good on me so no issues there. I dont wear it often since it's been discontinued and I am trying to make my bottle last but whenever I do, it puts me in a right cheerful mood. It is like the sunny Italian countryside in spring condensed into a bottle, cant help but put a smile on your face. I like it. 7/10 Edit - My opinion that this could be unisex got seconded in the most indisputable way. One of my best friends was over at my place and she was randomly smelling stuff on my dresser and she sniffed the cap, sprayed a little on her wrists and instantly loved it. Needless to add, my bottle has found a new home!!

Update... Fendi created two must have fragrance..Fendi pour homme and life Essence. Pour Homme is perfect during the fall and winter months. Life Essence is true Italian artisans purfume which reflects the Italian culture outside in the Italian garden during the summer months. I really enjoy sandalwood with the warmth from geranium mixed altogether. The green notes from cypress brings it together BEAUTIFULLY ☺ To me this fragrance opening is a mix of sandalwood/oakmoss and a warm vib of geranium and bergamot. The aroma of floral notes floating around with a earthy herbal aromatic scent envelopes your senses. That's what I get when I use this juice. After a while the floral notes dissipate with a woodsy vib. Longevity and Silage is excellent lasting over 8hrs. Finally, This isn't your typical 80's or 90's fragrance, it definitely has depth whether you like or not. It took me several times before I found it appealing, so I strongly recommend you try it before buying it. 8.5/10

Got it last week. Fragrance wise - Good, but nothing great to talk about. Very short opening note of Bergamot and fresh lime. 2-5mins. Even that is heavily dominated by heart note of Jasmine & Geranium. After 10-15mins Sandalwood with tinge of moss/cedar comes out and floral jasmine/geranium starts fading. Sandalwood remains on my skin for 2-3hrs. Opening notes smell a little synthetic, sandalwood later though smells good. Bottle - Nothing much to talk about. Wooden finish cork fits the fragrance profile. Although described as For Men, has more feminine notes in heart. Jasmine/Geranium/Sandalwood gives it more of a Talc-ish profile. Maybe its sandalwood base. As I said, Good but nothing great.. Until you get to the pricing. Was available on eBay for around $15(INR1100). I had 20% discount coupon. Now for $12(INR800) its a great great perfume. To top it off, its rarely available in stores - makes the deal even sweeter. WOuld rate 6.5/10

CheckCosmetic.com; January 2015 My bottle just arrived, from India, a bit warm from the heat here in the US. Sprayed on a test strip, the opening is awesome with a lime-like citrus up top, but that disappeared in about a few minutes and the Jasmine and Geranium are most prominent with a dryness lightly noticeable throughout. Maybe that's the oakmoss? I'm still trying to find some of that on my walks so I can get a better handle on that note. I'm amazed this isn't even listed as unisex, it's extremely feminine. This is a very pleasant floral, but it may not suit some men based on that alone. The drydown reminds me of some perfumes my mother used to wear in the late 90's. Can anyone who's experienced a newer bottle of this tell me if the quickly disappearing citrus notes is normal or due to age / storage?

A very nice, old-fashioned, soapy (predominantly) male fragrance, generating a sense of well-being which is all too brief. Unlike modern fragrances such as Ammouage, which linger (and linger), not only on the skin but also in the cerebral cortex of the wearer and anyone else within a half-mile radius, Life Essence provides an initial freshness and a skin-close cosiness for a short while only. Life Essence: passing, affecting and memorable.

This is known to be a perfumers perfume. It’s essentially a classic, mesmerising scent that is a staple in my collection. I just love the elegant smell of this juice, and it’s easily one of the best and classiest mens perfumes of all time. Takes me back to the 90’s where you are at peace with yourself and the world. A must have for any perfume lover. Very elegant and masculine scent.

Found this yesterday at a shop for 8$, bought it but wasn't as impressed as I was hoping to be. Not as woody as I thought but will test it out more to see if my nose evolves to catch it differently.

just bought this fragrance after great reviews in fragrantica and basenotes.. No wonder Fendi stopped production.. will try again later and see if my opinion changes..

Fendi Life Essence is a very fresh, clean fragrance, stuns its linearity, the opening is very crisp with citrus and a reminder of the grape skins but also the flowers are very sharp, jasmine (which I love) hot and seductive and the bottom forested wood and sandalwood. This fragrance has a gift for me back in time, always leaving a certain nostalgia for the scents of more than a decade ago. Life Essence is something aristocratic but incredibly, the hand, with Life Essence brings a fresh fragrance and discreet, no fanfare ... might remember Bulgari pour Homme Life Essence but I find it much better ...... and then this note indefinite and impalpable that nostalgia turns into a dream. Freud does not teach here.

Hello with love, As I smell and use this masterpiece from Fendi I find it Citrusy/Floral/Sweet/Fresh Spicy/Leathery This is the best Sensual-Romantic Fragrance ever in my opinion. It shows Fresh-Flowery Morning beside your loved one then after spending the day with her it changes to a spicy evening when you dance together in a romantic sunset of Tuscany with a light music like Ine Man's Dream by Yanni. then when you reach the night it turns to a sweet leathery sexy note. Nothing like it at all , charriol royal white and close only in the opening till 40 minutes, once it dry , gone far from life essence, honestly am so tired searching something close to it , till today nothing like it , its a historical distinguished one , still no maker did it well , Regarding alrehab one , its 70% only close , and there is also one exact duped bottle and packing same name exactly looking in design like it in gcc countries but/and close 85% with 3 hours weak performance. I hope it back some day .

It was lauched when FENDI still had its A.D.N. saddly in this millenium is only for flanker as Dior, P. Rabanne, R. Lauren y Armani. But Life Essense goes may be for the same vein of the first Fendi Woman 85 or Fendi pour homme ... It founds an equilibrium among spice and woods with fresh and citrics ... Open refresing ... acids and spices blows but calm down drying... Gentle and light... for my nose is "more masculine"

Life Essence is the third woodiest scent I own (Gucci Pour Homme and Gucci Rush are the first and second respectively. It really grabbed me from the first time I smelled it. It has excellent lasting power on me, easily lasting a working day. To me it's mainly a woody scent with some florals, and I don't understand its classification here as an Oriental Spicy. I can't detect anything Oriental about it. Regards.

In my opinion, this is a woody-citrus fragrance. It opens with a citrus explosion-lemon and bergamot, accompanied by cypress and astringent freshness from the geranium. The rest is coniferous woods- cedar, pine, and oakmoss as well. Refreshing and lasting fragrance, suitable both for men and women. The bottle and especially the wooden cap get on together well with the perfume itself.

They never mentioned soft spicy but that is what Life Essence is on me once the opening citrus fades. The Sandalwood and Geranium come together melodiously on my skin in this marvellous Monsoon mid summer. Tropical heat has a way of adding a wet, musty earthiness to every scent; and here, it combines with Oakmoss to add that calm.

It's such a shame Fendi stopped making this fragrance. Its beautiful and was my favourite. It was a fragrance that wherever I went women would say OMG what are you wearing its divine. unfortunately being gay I didn't get the same reaction from men but I can tell you the girls love it. Fendi you need to bring back this fragrance

You're right on the money Kiselina. I also respectfully submit that Life Essence is a uinsex frag. Everything about this fragrance is just right, from the bottle, to its cap, to the juice itself. Great woody base notes perfect for the office and great for weekends. This is a creative piece that has no equal.

A beautiful Gem!!!! Simple yet sophisticated, a shiny and positive day in a bottle. At the opening fells a bit femmenine, inthe deep drydown some similarities with Rochas pour Homme, but richer in deep and complexity. Amazing long lasting and projection power, a truly must collector gem!!

One of the best italian scent ever!!! It's like walking in a garden of flowers and smelling the blossoms. It's like Sunset in Venice Eau de toilette Pour Homme but cheaper. suits for summer but Venice suits for all four seasons. 10/10

I remember having a bottle of this in Melbourne, maybe 1999, and a women pushing a pram chased after me down the street, to ask what cologne I had on.

I love this, why cannot I not get any more? It's perfect, soft, clean and wonderful. I miss it, I will search Ebay, I must have this back in my life!
