Miss Fenjal Classic

I am reviewing both the creme de parfum (fluid version) as well as the oh-so-praised creamy oil bath. @Mpzl described the fluid version very well, so I am adding that the creamy bath oil has a slightly effervescent quality, like soda pop but woody, not sweet. I read some place that the bath oil can be dabbed on pulse points and I tried it after taking a shower, on dried skin, combined with the creme de parfum. What a delight! It sits on my skin well over 5 hours and it develops from fresh and woody into sweet and floral. I will be buying the 75 ml EDT version soon as well. Launched in the 2010's, the Miss Fenjal Classic line has a retro vibe which I really enjoy. BTW although a Swiss brand, Fenjal products are made in Germany. IMHO it is a pretty unique fragrance although some compared it to Felce Azzurra. I don't own the fragrance from Felce Azzurra but I do own its Classic shower gel, hand soap, Talcum powder and solid soap and they are wonderful. I also have the Fenjal Intensive and Sensitive body lotions, they smell amazing and moisturize for 48 hours, making them perfect for dry skin and colder temperatures. All the Fenjal products are affordable and of high quality. For a comfy feeling, after shower/bath and for snuggly evenings/nights, I warmly recommend the Fenjal products.

I love the smell of Fenjal Classic & have the EDT & all the body products. Its a woody & clean smell, very cool & also creamy. It’s great in hot weather & lasts quite well too. Patchouli is noticeable here. It’s not too sweet & is not at all a fruity scent, imo... nor do I find it cheap/synthetic. If the smell was a colour it would be pastel green. The body spray is combined with moisturiser, & is actually my favourite product of the range (with good longevity). It’s a bit creamier than the EDT, I think. Although, I do love all the other products too. This scent smells a whole lot better than many perfumes that are 4 times the price. Fenjal is lovely & a real cheap thrill!

Fenjal Classic has a lovely fresh and crispy smell and I love it. it reminds me at the nature without being too sweet or too floral. I use the soap and the lotion weekdays in the office as my colleagues cannot stand moderate/strong perfumes. But I must admit that I do not mind using it on daily basis, sometimes I am naughty I will cheat and put onother perfume on :-). I only use the Classic version.

I have miss clasic in the fluid version (which i didn't find here), so i dont know about the edt, but the fluid version is really nice (for that money? Bargain!). Firstly a bit strong, but after drying it's really nice - florally, woody, bit grassy and powdery. Its really long lasting with moderate silage, nothing overpowering, but still there :) for me its primarily a nostalgic scent, as my grandma used it, but its ok even for younger woman :) but it had to grow on me, not a love for a first smell :D

MY grandmother had this as a present a while ago and the first time I sniffed it, I hated it. However, it grew on me. It smells clean like you've just some body lotion after you've come out of the shower. It really is sharp the first few seconds but then becomes a skin scent, doesn't have amazing longevity but it is just a nice, inoffensive scent.

It’s an elegant creamy comfort scent, a spiced creaminess, just gorgeous! I can definitely smell Madame Rochas , but very very light not over bearing - if you imagine the Rochas being the grandma, this is the fresher lighter daughter, combined with Fenjal lotion, just evokes clean and classy image.

Smells pretty powdery which I appreciate. It's more of a skin scent than an eau de toilette. Good value for the price, unisex slightly leaning to the feminine side.

It feels like there are a bit of aldehydes and talcum in it, not much like the classic soap and hand cream. But nice scent overall.

As a huge fan of the classic smell of Fenjal body balm, shower cream, shower foam and roll-on, I got excited to see this scent in one of the online-stores. It turned out to be sort-of disappointing as the smell is quite different. The opening is like a blast of Felce Azzura powder mixed with a barrel of suffocationg aldehydes (very much like those in Tosca, only waaaaaayyyy stronger) which steal the show and disappear partially only after half an hour. But at that time most of the other notes (powder, carnation) are gone too... After an hour barely anything remains. I do not find much resemblance to the classic Fenjal aroma here that I've known for 30 years and loved a lot. Perhaps the tiny bit of the carnation and powdery notes that are there somewhere in the background might do the job if they were not overwhelmed by the aldehydes and if they did not disappear so soon. I'll do some more testing but I'm not expecting much anymore...

Why oh why?! Again a reformulation just alcohol and water with a hint of perfume. It's the same all over again. 10 years or more i had a bottle and i really loved it. It was strong but warm and cosy. A bit flowery and much powder. But now it's a burst of alcohol and sharpness which after settling down leaves a faint powdery skin scent. Well you will have to put your nose very close to your skin and sniff fully but than you get a weak powdery kind of smell. So ready for the bin and never buy again. So sad all the good perfumes are disappearing this way. I promise myself to buy only the vintage versions again and never the ones made after 2005.

Don't know why I bought this. Might have to give it away or try to layer it somehow. It's too much for me, makes my noses hurt and completely blinds my nose to any other scent, and not in a good way.

I have the EDT in the clear glass 50ml bottle. It's a classic aldehyde like Blue Grass with some powder. Nice but doesn't have the magic of the bath oil and body lotion. 2/2024 Update - my bottle has sat for a year and I've worn it a few times recently and I'm quite content. It's not complex and it's super pleasant and comforting. It's also quite strong yet the aldehydes have faded. It's not a chypre in my opinion. I think maybe it has carnation, because it has that spicy carnation note. It's an old fashioned perfume smell with powder. Fair value for the 10 bucks it currently costs. 3/2025 Update - I've been wearing the EDT in combination with the roll-on underarm deodorant. It's quite rich and intoxicating this way, and smells as they say, "expensive". As if expensive is a quality generally, or as if expensive can be smelt. I suppose people use expensive to mean complete, pleasing, really pulled together. Maybe my male stank provides the missing molecules that now pull it all together. I'm somewhat reminded of Joop! Homme OG. The creaminess behind the flowers - sandalwood and vanilla. Fenjal isn't nearly as sweet. Miss Fenjal Classic is still only 10 euros. My experience? This fragrance improves with years on the bottle. Some new blends of Chanel at 20x to 40x the price have the same process. You buy them and they feel wan and then 2 years on the bottle, they smell more complete. Go figure.

I visited Austria last week and bought this oldie goldie in a Müller store. My late mother used to wear Fenjal Classic EDT many moons ago, when I was a little girl, so it has a special sentimental value for me. The scent has been reformulated who knows how many times, and the present-day version has very little to do with the one that I seem to remember from the 1980s. Nevertheless, I'm very happy with my purchase. Fenjal Classic EDT is cheap as chips, but performs much better than some overpriced niche sh*te. The older I am and the more my fragrance collection grows, the more I appreciate these simple classics such as Fenjal. Do not be misled by the list of notes, because the present-day version of this turquoise beauty is very very VERY powdery. The opening is quite strong and soapy-aldehydic, but very soon the powdery notes take over. As a few other reviewers have mentioned, the scent is very elegant, comforting, creamy and fluffy. If you love fragrances such as Guerlain Meteorites, and can tolerate the aldehydic opening, then buy this forgotten gem and enjoy! Longevity and silage are very decent, I get about 6 hours on my skin, and even longer on clothes.

Strong citrus opening with woody smells. Still rose and jasmine combo is so strong. Still it smells nice, like a fancy cream

Very nice sweet powdery reminds me little bit of joop femme but this is so much lighter . Cozy scent inoffensive

Never had the perfume but the shower foam is INCREDIBLE. I might just have to give this a try...

Beautiful woody spicy fragrance of great value. It is clean and comforting scent.
