Essence Musk

It was so hard to find this parfum and I was surprised and happy to find it here in Manila, it was a little pricey, but I say it's worth it. I live in a tropical country where I could use this everyday. Someone compared it to Lacoste L12 white and I have them both, so I did a comparison with one spray of Lacoste and Ferrari on both of my wrist. This is my honest review: At first few seconds they both have the citrusy scent, but the similarity stopped at around 5 minutes. The Lacoste stayed citrusy with a prominent sweet watermelon, while the Ferrari had little citrus but had prominent sweet musk. After 1 hour the Lacoste still had a little watermelon but the powdery scent was overtaking, the Ferrari lost the citrus and was replaced by sweet watermelon and aquatic at the same time and the sweet musk was still prominent. After 2 hours the Lacoste stayed the same with powder watermelon but it was barely noticeable. Ferrari still has great aquatic and sweet musk. After 5 hours and Lacoste was almost unnoticeable, but the Ferrari was still good with aquatic and sweet musk and I am really impressed with the longevity of this parfum. The only gripe I have is I wish it was little cheaper. BTW Lacoste doesn't have watermelon listed on the notes, but I really swear on smelling it prominently.

Blind buy that has blown me away. The smell is one of the most unique compositions I’ve ever experienced. Fresh elegance but leathery at times and always smooth with this subtle watermelon note that really compliments the fresh citrusy nature of this fragrance extremely well. There are fragrances that elicit compliments and then there are fragrances that short circuit a beautiful woman so intensely that she freezes in her tracks for about 7 seconds while helping with your bamboo massage bed. THIS IS THE LATTER!!!! In fact I was Not sure if she was is in distress or not, so I waited until she somewhat snapped out of it before asking if she was ok? Flush red in the face as if intoxicated, she kind of whispered “You smell really nice” and walked off as if embarrassed. I later walked in on her and 3 other co workers from the spa with a case of the “Gigglies”, as I entered the salt room. I’ve always had women react positively, but that was by far the most intense. Not sure what else I should say about this scent. .Except maybe that my next bottle arrives by fedex today. Reviews don’t do it justice. Trust me! This is special, and refined noses will notice it right away. Nice job Ferrari. -Boss

Here in the UK, we’ve been roasting in late August sun, and my house and all my rooms are glowing in the evening heat. No air con in this part of the world. After a cooling down shower, I liberally applied Essence Musk, and lay down on my bed, lights off and windows open to the dark sky. All I can hear are a few final bird calls, and the odd tractor transporting freshly harvested hay bales. The perfume is easy to wear in the heat - cooling almost. Top notes of sherbet fizz and light fluffy citrus, a lemon meringue pie scent - mouthwatering. After 20 mins or so, a minty nutmeg note starts to appear - a subtle mint, and not overwhelming. The watermelon sits alongside, infused with lavender. The watermelon grows and grows over the next 30 mins. And then, after an hour, the scent starts to fade and becomes something you need to search for. I’m tempted to reapply... I enjoyed that!

An ok fragrance on it's own, it's fresh, inoffensive, doesn't really last for a long time, slightly generic. One Problem that I have with Essence Musk is that it isn't really as good as the other fragrances from Ferrari's Essence Collection, it's performance, uniqueness and overall quality just does not come close to it's elder brothers. With almost all Essence Collection fragrances I first bought 10ml miniatures to see if I enjoy the perfume, if I did, then I would buy a 100ml bottle. It wasn't the case with Essence musk, owning 10ml of it was enough for me. Although I do see the potential that it could have had if the performance could have been stronger or if some of the notes have been amped up. Either way, it's not really a bad fragrance, will be in my "like" section. A 5.5/10

i waited for 4 years to add this to my arsenal, that bottle is everything, if you love white, this is worth it just for the bottle itself.i knew it wouldnt be a beast but bravo ferrari for making such a clean fresh scent. this fragrance reminds me of Galloway by PDM, the smell is fresh clean mint, mild petit grain, melon, musk, lavender and citrus fresh. its a cologne style fragrance for white shirt, and inoffensive purpose. relaxation while watching a film with your doggo or loved one(doggo is better company) lol. its ideal for spring and summer.i love the entire essence line, they made Ferrari great again. 8/10 for the bottle and quality juice. (longevity/projection is moderate and NO it doesnt smell like SMW by Creed, not even close, its a nice cologne on its own)

Perhaps that scent does not make the huge step in development of perfume art , but it isn't possible to refuse Ferrari Essence Musk the real dash. First thing is the bottle- it is one of the nicest and heaviest bottles I have or I ever had. And the second thing : the content of course - it's superb ozonic /aquatic /aromatic scent -it contains a lot of musk but the sweetness is not female or nauseous -it's in 100% masculine-maybe because there's a very well noticeable herbal note, too. Additionally, the mixture is very long perceptible on its owner and applying the perfume is really comfortable - the smell is not too offensive but simultaneously people around will smell perfume for sure. Compliments from the fair sex - ensured! :-)

Starts of bright, fresh and energetic. The smell has citrus, aquatic and marine notes. It is very pleasant and easy going and ideal for day time use. Very versatile and an easy compliment receiver, risks is minimal as it is definitely a crowd pleaser. An affordable yet elegant creation, would rate it 9.5/10, definitely would recommend it

This one is going to be a really good one for the upcoming spring and summer. A touch sweet watermelon combined with a fresh barbershop feeling makes it really easy to wear. Reminds me of milesime imperial but much more simple in the composition. I get around 4hours with this one and a moderate 1,5projection.

I have bought Essence Musk for less than $13 (tester). The bottle is heavy, really heavy. What I like is the bottle came with a cap. The smell is fresh, manly and fruity sweet. Watermelon is really noticable in it. I think it would be perfect for spring and summer. Good sillage and longevity too.

Very smooth and refreshing fragrance, amazingly nice white bottle with light sparkle. Depicts the nature of the fragrance well. unfortunately lacks performance like all the other fragrances from this line.

Ferrari Essence Musk opens with a sparkly combination of musk, citrus, and sea accords. The citrus and musk combine creating a sharp and lemony tone that feels clean and aromatic, and not animalic or pungent like musk found in other fragrances. Other notes in the fragrance are enhancing and soft accords. The lavender and mint enhance the fresh aromatic citrus notes, making the fragrance feel clean and refreshing; the watermelon adds a soft fruity tone, nothing prominent; the nutmeg is just a faint tone; the cedar and vetiver add a light woody and green touch, but just that, a touch. The amber acts as a boosting vehicle and it enhances projection once the fragrance has reached its dry-down. And that is the most noticeable change from opening to dry-down, the initial citrus sharpness subsides as the amber joins to boost notes, the citrus tones have lost most of its power, what is left is a clean musky and cedar accord. Once Ferrari Essence Musk Men has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, clean musky, aquatic and woody fragrance with soft citrus accords. The fragrance feels airy, casual, clean, cool, diurnal, fresh, marine, mild, musky, playful, relaxing, sporty, masculine but not for much, versatile, white, woody, and pleasant. After the release of the first two fragrances of the Essence Collection – Essence Oud and Silver Essence – in 2012, Ferrari realized that there was much more to show and that it was possible to create more sophisticated scents with better ingredients. So, in 2013, the brand launched two new fragrances: Essence Musk and Leather Essence. Essence Musk arrives in the standard bottle, which was created for this collection, bringing special paints and impeccable finishing, as metal lid and leather. The white color pays tribute to the purity and intensity of the headlights of the GT models (Gran Turismo), which are the inspiration for the whole line. The white, immaculate, portrays the transparency and clarity of the materials, as components of the cars. The official composition has notes of bergamot, Mandarin leaves, white grapefruit and marine notes, in the output. In the body of the fragrance were combined notes of lavender, watermelon, nutmeg and white Mint. Finally, at the base, we can find notes of amber, cedar, Bourbon vetiver and white musk. On the skin, Essence Musk is clear and soft. It has that cleansing aspect already known in fragrances with good amount of musks. Unfortunately, I can't identify the denser notes, such as nutmeg, vetiver or amber. Basically, the fragrance revolves around citrus nuances, contains a good cedar and, of course, the musk, reason of its existence. In addition, it cannot be said that Essence Musk is innovative, because the impression I have is that the company took its Scuderia Ferrari Light Essence Bright and faceted it, as you do with rough diamonds. And I say more: although Ferrari makes scents aimed at male audiences, this fragrance is also shareable, as well as the other, which was released as unisex but few people knew it. On the other hand, Essence Musk is the kind of fragrance that grows on your skin over time. I remember that I've tested it before, at an airport shop, and didn't enjoy it. I thought it soft and too simple compared to others I tested at the same time. Today I think different! I realized that, even though mild, the fragrance exudes a lot, making itself noticed and fulfilling its role. The first 3 hours of use are the most intense. About the lasting: it is very noticeable for about 5 hours and remains on the skin for at least 8 hours. On my skin, that's all. Essence Musk is made for those who like or need softer fragrances, without giving up quality. In my opinion, works as a good sportive fragrance also, although it has not been created for this purpose. But the white colour also suggests me another old cliche: the medical field. If I were a dentist, dermatologist or any other profession of the type, which needs close contact with the patient, conveying cleansing, comfort and quality, Essence Musk would be another white item being placed in my bag for sure. Therefore, if you don't like fragrances that are too sweet or not tolerate bombs rich in spices, always giving preference for simple and lighter scents, it's worth testing Essence Musk sometime.

Ferrari Essence Musk is not at all what I expected, considering all the wonderful scents in this line. I love musk, but I do not detect the slightest bit of it in this DNA. All I get for the first 15 - 30 minutes is an overpowering petitgrain mixed with grapefruit ... and these two notes are clashing with ferocity; one trying to outdo the other to a cloying, headache-inducing, eye-squinting degree. Since petitgrain is only the seventh-most detected smell from users in the ratings above, it is obvious that many people do not know what petitgrain, or mandarin leaf, smells like. Petitgrain is an aroma that is sweet, yet tart, with subtle floral and woody characteristics. However, there is no subtlety here, folks, especially with the tartness, which is through the roof. Also, although it is not listed in the notes, I get a faint tea-note, as well. Remember to go easy on the sprays ... 3 - 5 should do it! The mid is more tolerable and more pleasant, along the lines of how I wish it would have opened, however, the middle notes listed here are none of the notes I am gathering. The bitter petitgrain has mellowed some, but still remains with a very dull melon note riding along now, and I detect a faint bit of cedar supporting the mixture. At this point, it is a greenish-type freshie with slight woodiness, not real bad, not real good, and it has been done many times before to a much better degree. The dry-down proves that this scent is very linear, although it has become increasingly more amiable. There isn't much change from the opening/mid petitgrain, whatsoever, other than a mellowing of the sharp tartness. It should have been named Ferrari Essence Mandarin Leaf or Ferrari Essence Petitgrain. Projection - 7/10 Sillage - 7/10 Longevity - 6/10 Fragrance - 3/10 Compliments - 1/10 Seasons - Spring, Summer Time - Day "Musk" scents generally fall into the autumn/winter category, but not this one, because it has no musk. I don't know what kind of white musk other people have been smelling in their lives, but there certainly isn't any true white musk in Essence Musk. I do not hate it, but it is very sharp and generic, and it could have been done so much better. It feels like an unfinished project; one that was in the middle of scent creation and then abandoned. I, most likely, will not be reaching for this one too often. Can't win 'em all. UPDATE: I tried it again, and lo and behold, while still not breaking into the category of "my favorites," it has moved OUT of the category of "hate." I must have just been having a bad petitgrain day for the initial review.

Unique. Good for the hot weather. Isn't gonna last super long, but as with most Ferrari's the longevity and performance are a bit better than other "cheapie" brands. Also, Ferrari is the supreme car brand of fragrances. Love their stuff, and it's usually at a good price point. I think this is discontinued, but I wouldn't pay over $50 for it. Simply because it is not that complex of a scent. It's amazing ,but not worth shark prices. Hard to describe, there's a fruity, citrus, musk vibe to this. It's definitely unique, and I really love it. You can overspray this, easily, and not offend. It's very pleasant for the summer but it stands out from the crowd. You may think it smells familiar, but that's just that clean musk. The clean white musk in this is so pure and clean, I just love it so much. I have a hard time picking up watermelon. I guess thats the frutiness but for some reason I get reminded of apples when I smell this. I dunno. On the lady killing factor, we must give this a 5/10. It smells good, clean, and fresh. You will come across as a man who is clean. But, in terms of sexiness and panty dropping, this is not that kinda fragrance. This is a nice, fresh, make you feel good fragrance. You throw it on when its gonna be hot and you gotta run around doing this and that. People are definitely gonna enjoy this, but it's not going to make women want to have sex with you (no fragrance will btw). Lady killer, no. Awesome fragrance? Hell yeah.

After several years of wanting this, I've finally pulled the trigger. Well, for the price I've paid I can say that its ok...not great. At least I can now cross it out of my list. The musk here is not the animalic, dirty musk found in darker musk based fragrances but rather a clean, fresh laundry type of musk. On first spray, only two notes are very prominent: mint and musk. At this stage, the scent is bitter, cold, and fresh. It has a cooling effect, like when you're chewing mint gum. Unfortunately, it has a tendency to irritate my throat if inhaled deeply. The mids are better and less in-your-face. This is where the other notes emerge as the dominating mint and musk subside. Watermelon, citruses and spices become more noticable. The drydown is linear continuing from the heart and continues like this until it fades. Longevity is average. Around 6 hours tops even though its an EDP. Fragrances that are similar to this are: Victorinox Swiss Army Altitude, Kenneth Cole Black, Nautica Voyage N-83 and Bvlgari Aqua. If I'm a little bit younger, I would probably loved this but I've found out my tastes are changing as I'm growing old. This is only a solid like.

Ferrari Essence Aqua. That should be the name. Essence Musk is an aquatic fragrance first & foremost, despite the name. It starts immediately with a moderately sharp water (seawater) note, accompanied by a musky background, & a sharp & spicy green mint note. The smell is linear with minimal changes at the drydown. There a hint of classic, floral lavender accord as well. Essence Musk is soft & clean. It is in the same vein as Tommy Bahama Set Sail Martinique, Ajmal Blu, Nautica Voyage, & other sharp fresh scents. Although the smell is different, these have the same sharp, fresh aquatic vibe. A good & light versatile fresh musk fragrance with a decent longevity. However, if you came looking for "musk" in particular, this not where to start. A side, personal issue I had with this fragrance, is that it's a little too sharp, it causes a little itch my throat & burning sensation in my nostrils. Overall, "Like".

This is a very unique fragrance, it's perfect for summer days. When I had a big collection I never paid attention to it as the projection is very minimal and it's very hard to overspray however longevity is better than other brands in the same price. I went through a full bottle fairly quickly as a work scent. Since my preference nowadays is towards subtle discreet scents where I know I smell good and not being intrusive on others noses, I have started to remember this with fondness. Oddly I associate the smell of milk or milkshake to this scent.

Few words to describe this fragrance: Clean, Safe, Light Occasions: Mainly office, so daytime fragrance I doubt this will be anyone's stand out fragrance. It has limited utility and does well there. If you blind buy, you'll not be elated for sure. You'll be content if you didn't set the bar high and were on the lookout for a good office wear cologne. It lacks the richness but otherwise is similar to Creed Millesime Imperial. The Creed also makes for better versatility owing to the depth lacked by Ferrari

I was expecting too much from a car manufacturing house....it is not more than another generic smelling musky cologne...somehow similar and in the same so so league of nautica voyage and stuff like that...a pass for me...I am tired of smelling average or chea`p Scent: 6 performance: 7 versatility: 7 bottle design: 9 I will not even bother to try any other from this house if they ́re all on the same league...Ferrari uomo was ok...but not as good or refined as Dior F.

received a decant today, and it turns me from a dislike into a like button. i sniffed it like month ago or so, and i sniff it again today, and wow.. this smells quite different on skin. so make sure you test it on skin. Scent : 7.5 out of 10 Longevity : 8 out of 10 (6-8 hours on skin) Projection : Moderate Overall : Try before you buy.

Blind buy this perfume. Not to fresh but clean and so synthetic .. I can't smell citrus. not bad but i think it's not my signature. Beautiful bottle design with leather strip on cup. scent 6/10 sillage 6/10 longevity moderate

So soft, clean, & lovely. Reminds me a lot of Davidoff Hot Water Night, although the smell is different, they both emit the same vibe. A very good & light versatile fragrance with a good longevity. Big "Like"!

It reminds me of Versace Eros but can be used on daytime since it's fresher. Longevity is bad. 2 hours on skin and you won't smell anything. Is it really an EDP?

A great alternative to Creed's Millesime Imperial that lasts. Very underrated and undiscovered.

It works well in the high heat. Very fresh one.

The smell is fine but not great (confusing blend)

This one is a common-smelling, sportive/ casual, non-sweet, soapy scent, that is made long-lasting with excessive musk. Blind buyers should understand this is just clean, heavy-fresh-smelling, despite all the listed notes. From the notes, all what I can detect are the musk, lavender, and the bitter grapefruit. The lavender is so strong and sharp in this one. All-over, it's basic, nothing extraordinary.

This is not white musk but a new synthetic, joining the other experimental fantasy notes. I thought I had a bargain but I have just wasted money. This is the worst Essence, not recommended unless you like to smell like abducted by an alien spaceship. After Red, Scuderia Red and Uomo I was expecting a lot more, very disappointing.

Blind bought this and ended up giving it to my roommate as he loves it! It does absolutely nothing for me and I have 15 other spring/summer fragrances that I'd reach for before I reach for this one. Just smells chalky or almost like paint or something. Not for me.

This is OK fragrance. Not mindblowing or anything. I detect mostly soft spices and citrus. Good for casual day or work, daytime. 6.5/10

Regret buy even for 20$. Synthetic, cheap smelling and light. Got rid of it.

The Ferrari Essence line continues to impress me with their releases which have proven to be somewhat unique, quality fragrances. Essence Musk is no different, a sort of sparkly white/silver fragrance with light fruity tones swirling within an exceptionally clean and clear variety of musk. The combination of mint, watermelon and the watery marine notes come together to leave behind this sparkling silver/white sheen very evocative of the bottle in which its housed. Essence Musk is ethereal in terms of its density, making it appropriate for warmer temperatures and times of the year. It's diffusive and light and can be applied generously. As is often the case with musk-centric fragrances, Essence can easily be dressed up or down, so while it's definitely not a formal style of scent, it can work that way if one wishes. Finally, the automobile theme is somehow tied into Essence for me as I get subtle notes of rubber and vinyl in the base. I don't know if this was intentional or just an odd coincidence resulting from a certain combination of base notes, but their presence is undeniable at least on my skin. Musk is not a particularly watery fragrance--I wouldn't classify it as an aquatic despite the watermelon and marine notes in the pyramid--its more of what's stated in its name, a musk fragrance with a sparkling, diffusive character. Overall it's a unique addition to my wardrobe and something I'm looking forward to wearing now that the weather is right. Thumbs up. Side note: Musk's bottle is very well-done. A sturdy bottle painted in a beautiful pearl-white with silver accents. It looks great on the shelf.

I heard this line of Ferrari is discontinued. True? I bought two, each for about 12 bucks. The notes reported for Ferrari Musk are accurate and aren't they interesting. I'm a bit nose blind to musk notes, so I can't pick it out here, or anywhere. Ferrari Musk is an aquatic of it's time. I prefer it to many inexpensive aquatics, such as Nautica and its flankers, which are cloying and for the young in their current formulations. Musk doesn't smell age specific. A fragrance to spray from your stomach, down, and not on your arms, neck, etc. The best impact is with distance, say 50cm, or on a friend. It's delightful with some backbone. Sillage and longevity! It has the Italian touch, and evokes a minty fruity yet pale summer cocktail with some herbal bitters. Italians have perfected bitter-sweet fruit, after all. Skin to nose, Musk's notes are bizarre. Not recommended for people who love to sniff under their shirts or the crooks of their arms. Wear it during workouts or after. Smoother than Adidas's eaux de jocks, and I like Adidas! Improves with body heat, light sweat. Aquatic impact builds. I look forward to spraying Musk in late afternoon in May, June. A perfect scent for the Grand Prix de Monte Carlo (alas cancelled this year). This is a Ferrari frag after all. Sexy, quality design. I won't part with this and it's a pleasant representation of its era.

Clean semi-sweet fruity crowdpleaser with a dash of sea salt effect. Reminds me of the synthetic musky drydown of Versace Pour Homme after the initial sparkling lemonade freshness has subsided. This musk plus seawater combo is also similar to the ambergris and seawater combo of Invictus and Bulgari Aqua Pour Homme Atlantique. But it's much more reasonably priced. The watermelon note is distinguishable in the first hour or so, after that, it's just general fruity sweetness on the musk. There is also something plasticky on the background, as other reviewers have noted, but it didn't bother me much. Maybe it could begin to get on your nerves after a while, or it could give you an urban vibe... Longevity seems to be fine, sillage adequate. You could do worse.

This scent is nice, fresh and clean smelling but nothing original or remarkable. It is very usual inoffensive mass appealing fragrance. Becoz of its citrus and mineral notes it reminds me a lot of Bvlgari Aqua Marine but with better longevity. Its not extraordinary like oud essence which I didnt like personally because of sweet rose but the smell is unusual and uniQue. Packaging is same I think its quiet expensive and doesnt worth a bottle I would buy it if it would be lot cheaper. I give ot 6.8 out of 10.

Essence Musk is a grassy, manly, fruity fragrance to me, what I get is like a green herbal Mint, with Grapefruit and White Musk, nothing special but I really like it, longevity and projection are just perfect for me, it is more than average. Probably Essence Musk and Leather Essence are my 2 favourites from the Essence Line, if you like non-offensive, simple but good fragrances, try it, the botle is great, it is heavy, the cap is metal with leather stripe, I give Essence Musk a 8/10

Very soft, smooth and soapy type of musk scent. Actually, hardly musky or spicy at all. Cannot pick out all the individual notes listed above, but they combine well to create something that's clean and fresh with a tiny bit of sweetness for the warmer months. Could be both casual and for the office since it doesn't project too much. Beautiful bottle. All these in the Ferrari Essence line have been discontinued. These used to be $25 and now are climbing up there in price.

Stands out as an aquatic fragrance with very elusive citrus and mint hovering atop. Very much an aqua bomb to me and no matter how many times I've tested this on my skin, I don't detect any watermelon at all which I was most excited about. I'd have a hard time recommending this to someone, not that it's bad, but it almost comes off as a non-scent with how fresh and unassuming it is. It's a good scent, but probably unnecessary to have in a collection.

I personally smell a very easy perfume, that typical designer shower gel vibe, like adidas or axe. Yes, it reminds of millesime imperial but on a budget and only in a small 30 min time, before that is watermelony clean shower gel, and after that is just a sport shower gel. If you like that vibe, go for it but not at its full price :-)

Best blind buy in the last couple years. Something about this fragrance I just absolutely love. Synthetic or not, in this case the blend is just very intriguing. Has the same effect on my mind as Trussardi Fresh Uomo had back in the days. I will buy another bottle, because when this goes away I will most def miss it a lot.

I'm relieved this doesn't smell like the usual soapy white musk. Instead it's a sweetish citrusy scent. As I've said elsewhere, I've been spoiled by Atelier Cologne's citruses. But, I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a solid perfume in a nice bottle, on a budget.

Very nice spring and summer scent. I get the smell of watermelon right off the bat. The grapefruit and all that is added to it brings a very warm seasonal smell to you for he spring and summer. A good pick up for a good and affordable price. To me a good pick up.

This fragrance are used by my close friend named dr.taha he is also a perfume smeller and elite gentlemen send him lots of fragrance and he says the frag is awesome. Musk notes are favouable and longevity is long enough to keep the day. Recommended.

This one is really very similar to creed mi with a little touch of nautica life energy.....my nose says so...pretty decent longevity...on skin 4-5 hours.. according to the price thats good...
