Autumn 24

I love this fragrance ! I have Summer 24 as well and the way Ffern captures seasons in their perfumes is really incredible so far. Growing up, my neighbors had a quince tree and the fruit would smell just like this. They would make my family quince jelly and the dry down of this perfume sends me right back to that childhood moment. It's really special !

Smells like I'm trapped in a cedar chest. That is not a complaint. My friend gave her sample of this to me and I so wish I had a full size but I'm sure that even if I could find it now, it would probably be well outside of my budget. This one is jealously rationed.

I love Ffern as a company; however, this will likely be my last bottle for a while. Thick sliced, canned spiced pears. Think opening canned apple pie filling and sipping warm brandy. Lovely, but heavy. Great for date nights on rooftop bars before the weather gets too cold. Their last Autumn was more like a hayride in to a bonfire; this is more like baking for Thanksgiving. I think they do a lovely job of capturing memories in a bottle. I’d argue this is pretty solidly unisex. Hay notes seem to be part of Ffern’s DNA. I’m a big fan, but a little allergic. I like it enough to suffer through it, if that tells you anything. Packaging is lovely as usual. The bottle and sprayer are also really high quality. It makes a really nice fine mist. However, like other Ffern scents, the longevity is weak. Weak silage doesn’t bother me, but weak longevity does at this price point. Plus, I could buy so many samples for the price. That being said, I’m happy I have the scents I do, and would recommend this company to anyone. This is a scent I thoroughly enjoy, as I do all Ffern fragrances.

This is THE fall fragrance. I’m wearing it in winter too and saving some for summer. It’s quite similar to the likes of Jo Malone Vetiver & Golden vanilla, and Myrrh & Tonka. It’s woody its sweet it’s rich like a molasses whiskey, very aromatic and fragrant the way i would describe a tea or decadent dessert: rum soaked pear cooked to perfection served with vanilla ice cream and a wafer of hot water crust pastry on the side to garnish. Unfortunately all of these sensations last around 30 minutes collectively before becoming an extremely intimate skin scent. Longevity and Sillage is non existent on my skin. Have to really get my nose right in there to pick up all of the notes. Which is why im saving some for summer to see if the heat allows the notes to project more. I layer this with BDK Gris Charnel extrait as that has a somewhat similar scent story to my nose. The tea the vanilla the cardamom it’s giving decadent dessert in fall.

Ffern definitely has a certain DNA that is present throughout all their fragrances-- a sort of dusty, almost papery, herbal quality that I find really enjoyable. I for one am happy, despite their promise that this would be their most gourmand fragrance yet, that Autumn 24 doesn't lean traditionally gourmand and still maintains a very natural-smelling, grounded quality that is present in all of their other scents. That said, I do pick up on what they were going for and totally get an almost honeyed, stewed fruit quality on my skin during the dry down. I imagine golden raisins slowly bubbling away in a pan of molasses.

Spicy and sweet. My second fragrance from this studio and I must say I am impressed again w/ the whole experience. The fragrance is exceptional. Thick syrupy pear, restrained and subtle underneath a layer of spice. Almost makes my mouth water. The opening of this is extremely strong and boozy, pure alcohol for the first 5 minutes. After that it settles into itself and embraces you.

I’m still trying SO hard to enjoy this perfume. Received as a gift, likely the giver didn’t care for it either. It at times brings nausea if not combined with a sweet scent, even then is rough. I think on a man this would be more enjoyable, it needs testosterone to mix with and I’m all estrogen ✨

This was my first ffern perfume and i returned it, hoping the next would speak to me better. They never did, so I just ordered this one again lol. This smells very patchouli on me, even other people who smelled it agreed. Very fall, winter leaning. Akin to Laurel Canyon by TWM in a way.

Baking spices and dried pear. The quince in this smells exactly like the pear in Mariani dried mixed fruit. Stays pretty spicy through the dry down. I wish it mellowed a little into something creamy. But overall a great fall scent.

The notes are correct from what I can see. I got a bottle and these match the description. (You can check the website too) Anyway, I gotta admit I'm disappointed. They promised to showcase the quince fruit in this autumn batch. But it's just woody, papery, hay-like barn with spices. It's masculine leaning. No fruit at all. No nectary pear / quince notes to be found. After browsing all of the scents Ffern comes out with, i'm noticing they all follow the same formula of being "aromatic, citrus, spicy." That being said, they really do put a lot of care into their delivery and presentation. You get gorgeous packaging, a little terra cotta stone to spray your sample on, you get TEA! you get some artwork and a cute story to go along with it. I can appreciate the quality, but there is nothing really exciting about this fragrance... Will probably be removing my name from the ledger.

This was my first try of Ffern, and unfortunately I am returning it. I wanted to like it so much, but for my nose was just ok. It is very light and subtle to me. I would say that it smells more like the end of the summer. The opening reminds me much of Cornucopia by Andrea Maack. I guess the Anis on the opening is very strong for my taste. I would have loved if it smelled like this spiced apple that people commented on previous reviews. Funny how perfume is something very particular to everyone. I do get more of the carrots seeds when it dries down, but for me this fragrance lays more on the "clean" DNA side, when I was expecting something warmer and juicy! Still, a beautiful creation when I think how it develops throughout the day! Looking forward to the winter release!

Woody, peppery, sweet and spicy. Somewhat reminds me of the woody notes from by the fireplace and the boozy notes from jazz club at the same time. This one is by far the strongest in the line (still weak). Mid sillage and longevity. If you want by the fireplace and jazz club combined and made inoffensive this is it. Edit: the olibanum erupts overtime and becomes the prominent scent in the drydown.

Smells like spiced apple (not so much cinnamon, more clove), and a little caramel on the dry down.

An earlier review said "woody, papery hay barn with spices" and I couldn't agree more. I have rarely been so disappointed. I loved the concept and the other things included, such as the seasonal tea, the art, and the diffusing stone - such a cool idea that I would have kept it had the perfume been worth the price. My husband commented that this perfume would have been great as a candle, and I probably would love the smell if I walked into someone's home and found it scented with this fragrance, but on my skin, it's a no-go.

Really wanted this to be fruity and delicate with the jasmine coming through but it smacks in the face of mulled wine spice bags. Far too gourmand for me with no notable citrus coming through. As always, packaging, product experience and customer experience top tier but this season isn’t for me. Returned.

hmmm, almost too spicy and warm. it's not my fav. it's giving luxurious countryside vibes with a hint of grandma smell.

Not a lot of perfumes cause a visceral disgust response in me but this one did. Smells like fireball whiskey, plastic, and a cheap holiday candle. I've given this one a lot of time to macerate and it is still as awful as the first time I tried it. It's so bad I almost wonder if I got a defective bottle- 1/10, really really do not like this one :(

I have the Autumn 2024; I would like to sell. Regrettably I didn't return it; it gives me a horrible headache.

This house is so boring. They don't make it clear that you're on a subscription plan and just auto ship you the next season's fragrance. Also, the fragrances are all boring and smell like outside. Nothing artistic, cozy, dense or exciting. They just smells like "outdode". Boooooo

Love the concept and description of this but as a scent it's a no. I don't get any quince, instead, it's a figgy pudding drowned in rum, turning into something rich and drunken. Very warm, vey gourmand, but not for me.

Man, that is a LOT of notes. 😲
