Winter 21

Love this fragrance house, and really enjoy the membership. I have opted to keep almost every fragrance but was very pleasantly surprised how easy the return process was for one that didn’t work for me (Rosemary and I don’t get along). Winter 22 is the absolute stunner, which I was intending to review but don’t see it listed on here. I layer it with everything and intend to buy a few more bottles from their archives if possible. Gorgeous natural elements in each concoction, beautiful unisex blends. Heavy on green, spices, citrus, and woods. Highly recommend checking this out!

A very interesting and unique fragrance which is worth mentioning was launched in December 2020 although it is called winter 2021. Fern only launch 4 perfumes a year issued to those on their mailing list in December, March, June and September. Due to the notes here, I actually prefer this as a summer fragrance as it is light and cooling. Very good composition but as with most natural fragrances, sillage is low although longevity is good.

Ffern fragrances are so interesting and inspired by nature. There is always a strong 'green' herbal element and beautiful oakmoss note. This surprised me when I first smelt it because it is the first 'winter' fragrance I have ever owned that begins with a strong lemon note.

I subscribed to ffern for a short while from2021 to 2023, but sent back more editions than I kept. Just not my thing I suppose. My main problem with Winter 21 is that it is a "chilly" fragrance, when I need something warm and comforting when it's cold and miserable outside. With its dominant lemon and mint notes it's more a summer fragrance. And while I love citrussy fragrances in the summer, this one somehow does nothing for me. No emotional response to it all, regrettably.

I got my first Ffern perfume, Spring 23 in April and have bought a bottle of Winter 21 on Ebay. Love the unique freshness in each perfume but this smells more like a male cologne to me, so I gifted it to my partner who loves it.
