Winter 26

TDLR:; 'winter' fragrance better suited for summer; irresistable in the right moment... This was my first Ffern fragrance, and I received it in the winter, expecting the crisp, moody aroma of the ocean in the winter, walking across the shore with your shoulders hunched up to your ears, your coat tucked up over your mouth, hand in hand with a loved one, noticing the tiny details in the rocks. And it does smell like that... but I hated it. And then in the morning of the first day of spring, I felt a random urge to put it on. And I loved it. It contrasts the warmth and sunlight in a way that reminds me more of a jug of pimms and a nice breeze in the air. It is the first fragrance that I've sprayed on myself again and again and again, because I found myself irresistible with it on. However, I sprayed it on myself after a shower that evening, and once again hated it. At night, when I had the urge to relax, it felt sticky and made me feel sick. I wanted to take it off so quick!

This is my first Ffern fragrance. I haven't opened the full bottle yet. I am just going off the sample included in the kit. I already know I am going to open it, though. It is so good. I am surprised that no one I have seen online has compared it to Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Parfum. To me, on the drydown, it smells very similar. I know that they don't share any stated notes, but, on my skin, that is what I get from 30 min, for a few hours until it fades out. I would say it lasts longer than GVP. I don't really know if I agree that it gives Winter vibes. I think it feels more like spring. Maybe it is just because I come from the Mountain West of the United States, and the fragrance comes from the UK. So it may just be that in the UK, people have different olfactory associations with winter than we do here. Overall, I would recommend it. Scent: 9/10 Sillage: not intimate, but not loud either. Performance: 4-6 hours, then skin scent for another 2 or 3.

Wow!! This one really surprised me. I did a blind read, and these are my actual notes: On me, the opening is dark, spiced and unusual — black tea (not listed?) forward with clove, and something almost hedgerow-like. Green, but more herbal than fresh; deep rather than bright. It’s bold at first, but not heavy. As it settles, a dry lemon peel note appears (more lemon balm than citrus sparkle), lifting the spice without turning it sharp. The tea stays all the way through, anchoring everything, while the woods slowly warm underneath. Outside, in cold air, this is where it really shines — a cool, spiced, dark, herbal winter scent that feels elegant, quietly distinctive and very grown-up. Not cosy, not sweet, not obvious... just interesting. Definitely one to wear wrapped up, hands in pockets, breathing in frosty air. Sample first, but if you like clean, herbal, spiced winter scents with depth, this really is a beautiful one.

Ffern is not just about a fragrance, it is about providing every consumer a deeply transportive and artistic experience. Each fragrance has an accompanying short film as well, which is so beautifully shot with cinematic precision and originality. Between the presentation offering such a beautifully written booklet describing the ingredients and what makes the composition unique, to the extra goodies they pack inside each delivery, such as a bookmark and scent diffuser, the Ffern experience is truly exceptional. I am absolutely astounded by the creativity this brand has portrayed. I am loving Winter '26 and am planning to order a bottle of Summer '25 as soon as possible, as citrus notes are my go-to in the dead of Winter. Ffern's Winter '26 fragrance contains a fresh, vivid mineral accord that evokes the ocean and outdoors in general that I would happily wear in all seasons.

This was meant to be a very seaweed forward fragrance but I find that the jasmine and basil are the loudest notes for me. It is a very cold fragrance, but in a remarkably refreshing way. I'm kind of on the fence about the season, considering how refreshing and floral a lot of the notes are; like a cucumber lime ice water, without the cucumber and lime LOL. Hard to say what the sillage is as my classmate can't smell it and he's sitting around a foot away, but I'm four-ish hours in and the top notes are mostly gone. The middle and base notes are very much present still, however, even if I can't smell the seaweed at all. The top notes of lemon rind and the basil together are wonderful together, genuinely addicting. Overall, not a bad fragrance at all, and part of it is for the experience, too. Always a treat to open a Ffern box.
