Winter 26

TDLR:; 'winter' fragrance better suited for summer; irresistable in the right moment... This was my first Ffern fragrance, and I received it in the winter, expecting the crisp, moody aroma of the ocean in the winter, walking across the shore with your shoulders hunched up to your ears, your coat tucked up over your mouth, hand in hand with a loved one, noticing the tiny details in the rocks. And it does smell like that... but I hated it. And then in the morning of the first day of spring, I felt a random urge to put it on. And I loved it. It contrasts the warmth and sunlight in a way that reminds me more of a jug of pimms and a nice breeze in the air. It is the first fragrance that I've sprayed on myself again and again and again, because I found myself irresistible with it on. However, I sprayed it on myself after a shower that evening, and once again hated it. At night, when I had the urge to relax, it felt sticky and made me feel sick. I wanted to take it off so quick!

This is my first Ffern fragrance. I haven't opened the full bottle yet. I am just going off the sample included in the kit. I already know I am going to open it, though. It is so good. I am surprised that no one I have seen online has compared it to Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Parfum. To me, on the drydown, it smells very similar. I know that they don't share any stated notes, but, on my skin, that is what I get from 30 min, for a few hours until it fades out. I would say it lasts longer than GVP. I don't really know if I agree that it gives Winter vibes. I think it feels more like spring. Maybe it is just because I come from the Mountain West of the United States, and the fragrance comes from the UK. So it may just be that in the UK, people have different olfactory associations with winter than we do here. Overall, I would recommend it. Scent: 9/10 Sillage: not intimate, but not loud either. Performance: 4-6 hours, then skin scent for another 2 or 3.

Wow!! This one really surprised me. I did a blind read, and these are my actual notes: On me, the opening is dark, spiced and unusual — black tea (not listed?) forward with clove, and something almost hedgerow-like. Green, but more herbal than fresh; deep rather than bright. It’s bold at first, but not heavy. As it settles, a dry lemon peel note appears (more lemon balm than citrus sparkle), lifting the spice without turning it sharp. The tea stays all the way through, anchoring everything, while the woods slowly warm underneath. Outside, in cold air, this is where it really shines — a cool, spiced, dark, herbal winter scent that feels elegant, quietly distinctive and very grown-up. Not cosy, not sweet, not obvious... just interesting. Definitely one to wear wrapped up, hands in pockets, breathing in frosty air. Sample first, but if you like clean, herbal, spiced winter scents with depth, this really is a beautiful one.

Ffern is not just about a fragrance, it is about providing every consumer a deeply transportive and artistic experience. Each fragrance has an accompanying short film as well, which is so beautifully shot with cinematic precision and originality. Between the presentation offering such a beautifully written booklet describing the ingredients and what makes the composition unique, to the extra goodies they pack inside each delivery, such as a bookmark and scent diffuser, the Ffern experience is truly exceptional. I am absolutely astounded by the creativity this brand has portrayed. I am loving Winter '26 and am planning to order a bottle of Summer '25 as soon as possible, as citrus notes are my go-to in the dead of Winter. Ffern's Winter '26 fragrance contains a fresh, vivid mineral accord that evokes the ocean and outdoors in general that I would happily wear in all seasons.

This was meant to be a very seaweed forward fragrance but I find that the jasmine and basil are the loudest notes for me. It is a very cold fragrance, but in a remarkably refreshing way. I'm kind of on the fence about the season, considering how refreshing and floral a lot of the notes are; like a cucumber lime ice water, without the cucumber and lime LOL. Hard to say what the sillage is as my classmate can't smell it and he's sitting around a foot away, but I'm four-ish hours in and the top notes are mostly gone. The middle and base notes are very much present still, however, even if I can't smell the seaweed at all. The top notes of lemon rind and the basil together are wonderful together, genuinely addicting. Overall, not a bad fragrance at all, and part of it is for the experience, too. Always a treat to open a Ffern box.

Really lovely release. Perfectly suited to the season intended but is so crisp it could work year round. I really like that it's a fresh, clean scent profile without ever veering in the 'soapy' direction. The seaweed note is beautiful. The dry down is gorgeous. It's aromatic, clean and a wee bit sultry (I think that's the violet leaf note & jasmine interplay). Wonderfully well blended. The oak moss is present to help keep it grounded. There's a tiny wee hint of spice here too. Sillage is moderate at first then dries down to a more intimate level. Decent longevity - especially for a 'natural:. Perfectly captures the intended theme. Ideal for being out and about - feels right at home in the Scottish countryside. 👌 Marketing actually does live up to expectations with this one. I love it.

It's not my usual feminine taste but it's so evocative of happier secure times. I'm fourth generation Vancouver Island. My great grandparents moved here because if felt like home - the Isle of Eriska, just south of Skye. These are the scents of my childhood spent on the ocean in all sorts of boats with big, strong, quiet, competent red headed men. I feels safe no matter the conditions. The only things missing for me are pipe smoke, wet wool and creosote, although I definitely wouldn't wear this if those were included. This has salty cold memories and at the 4 hour mark some flashes of elusive sweetness. I am transported.

This is my first Ffern fragrance and I am, overall, pleasantly surprised. The cologne is great but the packaging is what takes the cake. It's top notch with some extra goodies inside. The scent, which comes with a sample so you can decide if you like it or not before you break the return seal on the full-size bottle, is fantastically crafted and evokes a fresh lemon-pine scent that practically brings me to a wintry setting with a festive fir and hints of a well-expired fireplace. Really enjoyable to wear on the crisp winter days, but can be a little harsh initially. 4.3/5

This completes my year with FFern and I'm so glad I did the entire year. It really captures the essence of winter in a cool, herbal way. The notes that linger on my skin (and they DO linger, more than any other Ffern scent I've had) are pretty- I think it's a jasmine and red cedar combination. I didn't much care for the summer and autumn scents and was about the cancel but decided to give it one more try. I'm not sure how different each scent is each year but I've enjoyed the marketing with the films, tea and terracotta stone.

This is my first Ffern fragrance and I really love it. It opens with citrus and pepper, and dries down to more balsamic and lightly floral notes. It feels cozy but also invigorating, in the way that winter air feels. I find it really compelling, especially when I'm outside in the cold.

I really like this. Very unique and "cold" smelling. I love the sea moss and cardamom notes. They had me sold at winter light house. It does have an ocean-like quality to it.

A complex and warm marine scent on my skin, with cardamom at the forefront. Have received many compliments while wearing this fragrance.

This smells so good, I love a citrus marine accord very much. Reminds me of biting into saltwater taffies by the shore

Ffern Winter 2026 feels like a ghost of classic masculines, but softened and re-tuned for people who actually have noses. There’s a clear nod to early Polo Ralph Lauren territory — that outdoorsy, forest-floor authority — but without the shoutiness or the green-metal bite that made so many 1980s scents feel punitive. The eucalyptus here is the real surprise: present, cooling, quietly clarifying, yet somehow non-medicinal. No cough drop, no locker room. More like cold air moving through leaves. What really anchors it, though, is the oakmoss. There’s enough of it to flirt seriously with chypre structure — not a token dusting, but a real, earthy backbone that gives the fragrance gravity. It never tips into retro cosplay, but it does carry that old-world confidence: dry, mossy, composed. There is an aquatic accord but on me, it kinda disappears. Overall, Winter 2026 feels restrained, green, and intelligent. It doesn’t perform for attention. It stands its ground. A modern forest scent with a long memory — and just enough roughness left intact to keep it honest. I returned last years' winter offering -- it was a bit cloying -- but this one I will keep!

This reminds me heavily of Spring and Summer 25 if they had a child. Perhaps a natural evolution of the fragrance. The violet from spring is there but less fragile and noses sturdy. The citrus is there but no longer a sun in the sky but a dim sunset. A hay note is there which makes this feel more rustic and herbal. Just enough spice to give it life without becoming a spice box. Then the eucalyptus really lifts things along with the peppermint. I get the Ffern style and it fits right into their scents and could be seen as a bit unoriginal. But for whatever reason, this one seems to hit all the right notes in the balance I love whereas spring was too gentle and floral and summer (which I kept) was a bit sweeter and brighter.

i love the way this smells, genuinely—but i can’t wear it as it gives me intense migraines if i spray more than one or two spritzes! this perfume smells amazing, so outdoorsy and citrusy and really unique, but unfortunately something in my brain can’t differentiate between this and being like shot in the head so unfortunately i rarely wear it. i’m trying to microdose it though to get myself used to it.

Really lovely! This is my first bottle of Ffern and it pleasantly surprised me, very spa-like. Inoffensive scent that reminds me of my summers on the English coast as a kid.

Really wonderful herbal citrus. Strong on the herby wood scents and citrus. I can picture it great on a sweater or a wool scarf in the snow.

legit smells like the Oceans rooms spray from Pier 1... but with spices thrown in. i kept the candle but returned the fragrance. just didn't work on the body for me, but makes a great room scent.

I was very excited to try ffern, this is my first one. Winter 26 leans masculine, and the spa quality is too bath&body for me. I'll return but give Spring 26 a chance.

Am I alone in thinking this smells just like original black Chapstick on first sniff?

Ffern Winter 26 comes beautifully presented and thoughtfully packed. On my skin, the fragrance develops into an almost apothecary herbal-style accord that feels calm and softly medicinal, with a gentle hint of citrus. It wears close to the skin, making it very office-safe, with pleasing longevity. The scent is more subtle than statement-making — a gentle, quiet presence within the niche perfume world.

This one was never going to work for me. I have a mild allergy to evergreen trees (pine is the worst, but they all cause some reaction for me). Beyond the fir note, there’s also something in the top notes that smells like skunk or body odor to me. By the time that dissipates, anything good left underneath has either faded too much to smell, or I’ve gone nose blind to it.

I LOVE Ffern and all that they do and i TRIED TRIED TRIED to love this, but it comes off as Vix Vapor Rub on my skin. I came back to it, and it just didn't work for me. If you like Piney, Eucalyptus, and sharp notes, you will love it.

Got it for Christmas, is going back tomorrow. Overpriced generic lemonade with pepper. Bunch of nonsense in the packaging. And there's even a short "film" 🤣🤣🤣

My first purchase from fFern and hated it immediately. All I smell is some weird herbal tincture medicine cabinet smell. Not pleasant at all. The only way I can wear this expensive bottle is to layer it with something sweet to knock down that retched opening.

Joined the lottery purely out of curiosity and did not get in the first draw- should have asked them to take my name off but something stopped me. The fragrance arrived- no messages sent, that I got the allotment of a bottle- they just charged the credit card. Again, no shipping instructions given until asked. The fragrance arrived with lots of packaging hoopla- tea and wooden 'coin' etc but the original fragrance was a shocker. When I sprayed it, the first and lasting note is eucalyptus. It is the kind of eucalyptus that reminds me of getting a cold and then trying to clear congestion with eucalyptus oil. The fragrance, then turns balm like giving you the feeling of 'sickness'. The eucalyptus is accentuated by all the green notes and reinforcing them till the dry down. The spice notes just make the eucalyptus sharper, and the so-called 'aquatic notes' never show itself. I was super excited about this and there is a scope of returning but I am going to be adventurous and make it work by layering. Potential combinations for layering could include Russian Tea by Masque Milano (killer combination- changes into suede- glam lounge aroma on my skin) White Oud (any brand) - daily work wear fragrance (winter wear mostly, under the cardigan/sweater and formal wear) Evening Whisper (Massimo Dutti)- casual wear/ day to dusk/night wear

This feels really well blended with high quality ingredients. I get a lot of the timur and slight citruses at the start, you get the rind & peel with this citrus, not a juicy citrus. It's really nice though all things considered. The top is quite peppery and spicy, some old lady vibes, but I've come to really enjoy that in fragrance recently. The mint plays in well and is quite noticeable at the top but not at all displeasing IMO. It's fresh, clean but not soapy. Longevity was right in between 4-6 hours, this was my first Ffern fragrance and I am at least satisfied that I did not spend $140 for something I absolutely despised.

This smells like a more palatable version of Clue Perfumery's The Point Perfume. You get the seawater and floral aspects. The opening is typical of Ffern and is always a discouraging part of their fragrances; you really do need to wait for the dry down to see how it differs from all their other perfumes, because the house blend is just too overpowering at first. Anyway, this is nice for a cold, rainy day. If you have trouble with nausea, as I did with The Point and other jasmine or salt-forward perfumes, this is less in your face and may work out better for you.

This is a high quality fragrance with layers to it. I’m not sure the scent itself is for me - it’s not nearly as marine as advertised in their commercials, it’s much more spicy/herbal. But you can’t dispute the quality of the product - one spray is plenty, and there’s a lot to find interesting about it. Have to agree it would make a better candle than a wearable fragrance.

smells like being at a soap and candle store with my grandma. or perhaps the inside of an anthropologie. all the differing scents in this bottle end up homogenizing the blend into a vague fancy gift shop smell. with all the branding, I was hoping for a stranger, less feminine scent.

I'm so excited to try this. I love evocative, story telling fragrances even if they aren't they ones telling the most beautiful stories. Looks like it may merge beautifully with tea notes, a fresh vetiver splash, or even a spritz of a smoked vanilla or tobacco. I'm excited to play.

Nostalgic scent from childhood. I had an alcoholic substitute gym teacher in my elementary school that smelled like heavy vodka drinking from the night before and cigarettes masked by Listerine mouthwash and aftershave.

It's gorgeous and comforting. Fresh, spicy and earthy. It opens with breezy fresh peppermint leaf and right behind that is wonderful pepper and herbal accords that evolve into a great winter time scent.

I do like the smell, but not to wear on me. Instead I use it as an air freshener in the bathroom and it’s fantastic for that.

It brings to mind L’eau d’Issey and Pomegranate Noir by Jo Malone. Not sure if it’s a keeper yet.
