Patchilai - India

One weak ago I was in a small town called Pont l'abbee in Bretagne in a small perfumery where I sprayed this fragrance on my bag. I was looking for a patchouli frag, as I am not a fan of dirty muddy patchouli. Surprisingly I kept smelling and sniffing my bag fot a full week as I walked by my bag or when I took my sunglasses which I kept in my bag near the spot where I had sprayed. It is a flowery, non-synthetic, in caracter easy going but strong (great sillage and lasting power) wonderful, natural fragrance. Last friday, while still on holiday but now in the Pyrenees, I decided to buy it on line. Just now I recieved it. I'm so happy to at last own a true patchouli-fragrance. I mean in the article ' best in show' about patchouli-fragrances a lot of fragrances are mentioned that have patchouli in them, but are not imo contributing to the 'perfume' patchouli is as a stand alone. It is absolutely a fragrance that deserves more attention and rewarding than it gets on this platform!

A minimalist airy composition. Like for all the line it's pleasant but more like a room fragrance or a Diptyque candle around one main note. This type of perfume becomes boring too quickly because of its lack of olfactory pyramid and evolution, it just slowly decreases in intensity to become a skin perfume after 30min. Anyway it smells "natural" like some good organic materials. This applies to all perfumes of this brand...for me the best ones are the patchouli and the tuberose. It's more a well blended spices and balms composition enhanced by a patchouli base. Would have been better in a less airy dilution.
