Waka - Madagascar

This fragrance left me like ..."ok" It didn't tell me anything, it's not disgusting nor like a "WOW!", It is just an "ok" I would personally and definitely go for the Indian fragrance from fiilit, it is stronger, it is shameless, it is confidence, feminine, extroverted, not for someone who is shy or an introvert. For someone more shy I would recommend Waka Madagascar, it is more calm, it is like the serious-shy younger sister of the Indian one called Patchilai (not in fragrantica yet), although I would say Patchilai does have a strong curry-like note, difficult to ignore.

A minimalist airy composition. Like for all the line it's pleasant but more like a room fragrance or a Diptyque candle around one main note. This type of perfume becomes boring too quickly because of its lack of olfactory pyramid and evolution, it just slowly decreases in intensity to become a skin perfume after 30min. Anyway it smells "natural" like some good organic materials. This applies to all perfumes of this brand...for me the best ones are the patchouli and the tuberose.

I'm feeling a little bit uncomfortable and guilty to post the very first opinion about Fiilit Waka - Madagascar, but here are my thoughts. On my skin it opens very green-grassy with spicy-earthy accords. Like any other scent by Fiilit, Waka - Madagascar is 100% natural smelling. Maybe if there is a worldwide competition for most natural and authentic smelling perfumes from a single brand, Fiilit will be my absolute number 1 winner!!! If you want strictly natural scent without any compromise in that direction, this is your brand. But do I like Waka - Madagascar? No. Not chance. This fragrance is so far from me and my personality that I can't imagine I could wear it at any case. I can't understand it as a perfume... The problem is, on me it's too bitter green-grassy and truly unpleasant. This type of dry, piercing and super old smelling medicine type of scents are not for me at all. There is something ill in that fragrance. I'm sure many advanced niche-heads with specific demands of perfumes and refined taste will love Waka - Madagascar, because it's unique and strange, but it's not for me at all.

I'm very fond of Fiilit Waka-Madagascar. I definitely smell the ginger right off, as well as geranium and cinnamon. For me, Waka feels like "Grandma's Christmas cookies": warm, spicy, comforting. Just the sort of fragrance you want to come home to after a frosty day outside. I can't say it makes me think of Madagascar especially, but if you like the smell of gingerbread, you'll probably love Waka. According to the Fiilit website, one of the ingredients is ravintsara, rather than ravensara. Similar spellings, different plants.
