I picked up a set of samples from Filigree & Shadow, and I'm slowly working my way through them. The perfumes use water over alcohol, which is fascinating. I'm not sure how much it impacts the scent at all, but they can be a little janky spritzing out of the sample bottles. Otherwise, doesn't seem too different... I loved Elliott's concept at a glance: scents inspired by gothic rock, shoegaze, dream pop, grunge, etc. "My Most Meaningful Relationships" seems to be a reference to a deeper cut: a track by The Late Cord that almost has a church-like atmosphere an reverence to it. MMMR is a relatively simple scent. It doesn't smell that complex on me: more like 50% vetiver and 50% petrichor. The combination of the two (with the rosewood) results in a woodsy blend that at times recalls the bitterness of a citrus rind. Although that 'smell left in the earth after a rain' scent is there, it doesn't necessarily feel 'wet' or aquatic. I enjoy this for what it is, and can see myself using the full sample, but I'm not sure it's doing enough to warrant more than that. I wish I had more to say. It's pleasant and feels like a representation of the notes that are advertised. For those into vetiver or petrichor perfumes, you should definitely pick up a sample.
