PALE SAINT

Filigree and Shadows most impressive work. A cascading collage of accords and notes that come together to form something really beautiful. Pale saint paints the picture of a rich medieval wine party in the mid fall. An acidic and tart bergamot with light, powdery orange blossom petals drifting around it. Then at the end of the sniff you get a punch of pepper and a very light and round greenness from the carnation. Then as it dries it has a beautiful transition of the pepper and green of the carnation taking over and blooming into a rich and sour bottle of Pinot noir. The smell of powdery palo santo, musk, and earthy vetiver take the backbone to this absolutely beautiful green carnation and wine fragrance. It’s a beautiful mix of both decadence and elegance, and being sexy all the way through. Pale saint is a wild ride. One that is very green and not super mainstream, but this one works. I applaud James for his crazy complex work with the crazy niche that is water based perfumery. I can see this being anyone’s signature scent if they truly wish to have a statement piece as their signature. I also think this could be a green lovers dream scent. Good for any season, time, and gender: it’s a story. This one also sticks to clothes like glue and sticks on my skin for a solid ~6-8 hours. Olfactory art that is practical: a rarity.

Woody, green...AND! the TBonetheFella wrote about this well. It is a cascade. Has some of that crisp spicy that's classic in cologne, rolled up with citrus, floral, leather, woody, a barely there hint of powdery, the incense smokiness earthiness. I don't think I've been struck by the desire to drink any perfume before this one; soak me and pickle me in pale saint. My dad: "Forest, but floral."
