Lavs Limited Edition

A good liturgical liquid but nothing wow or new here, like i'm used to feel when i try Fillipo's other pieces of art. Churchy smell, good quality but as i said, nothing new. It is 97% Montale Full incense + tonka beans. 400 $ <-> overpiced 100%

I can't for the life of me understand why people keep comparing this to Avignon CDG. This is a vastly different incense. Lavs to me is a soft, woody scent. After a bit the incense is not even that forward anymore. It's something gentle and contemplative I'm going to wear for my own pleasure. But wearing it is not going to be very disturbing to other people too as it's not a huge sillage bomb but more a personal scent bubble. I wonder if this limited edition is much different from the original now. All the same ingredients are there, just the scent pyramid is differently built up according to what I see on Filippo Sorcinelli's website. For incense and wood lovers it is IMHO a fairly safe blindbuy, which is what I did too. Just don't expect Montale Full Incense or Avignon CDG, Lavs is much gentler and evocative of a pineforest where the sun warmed the trees so you can smell the wood. The frankincense is floating in and out on this woody base. I love the esthetics of the bottle with onyx stones in a gold damask pouch and the gold painted box too. Bought it for a fair price, so all's good :0)
