I "HATE" FILIPPO SORCINELLI ! I "hate" him and his masterpieces because I've reached the top in niche fragrances. This is what I've always been looking for since I tried my first niche fragrance - a religious perfume, churchy, esoteric, mysterious, religious, powerful but also erotic and exotic. Nobody could offer me what I wanted until now. The whole Memento collection is my dream come true. I could hardly believe it when I first tested them at the Beautik store, that something like this could even exist, and that it was exactly but exactly, what I had always wanted from the world of perfumery when it comes about incense. I "hate" him in the best way possible ,Filippo is a genius and his creations are real biblical wonders. All my respect and full admiration, Mr. Sorcinelli, for crafting what I consider a sacred legacy in perfumery! As for Notre Dame, its scent is nothing short of astonishing, hauntingly beautiful and utterly unique but it’s hard to describe in words. Imagine an exorcism session held in a grand church, not in a regular room. The priests chant solemnly, occasionally casting holy water on the poor girl , now beyond recognition. Screams in several tongues pour from her mouth, the atmosphere thick with tension. Yet the priests’ unshakable faith and composure soothe the fearful crowd. The scent of high-quality incense, honey and candles... but also a sharp, otherworldly evil presence trying to take over the space and to dominate the sacred aromas. After battles beyond this realm, the priests prevail. "Ego te absolvo!"

Filippo Sorcinelli, undisputed artist when it comes to ecclesiastical fragrances; With this splendid creation, it represents a liturgical moment wrapped in life, a positive thought, like the birth of a god on Christmas night, truly excellent wake and performance, complex and sophisticated perfume. A new amazing creation( one amongst many ) by this brand . Surely something unsmelled before therefore very intriguing and stimulating. A symphony of notes coming together and ordered to play harmonically as a unicum. I personally believe that describing this Sorcinelli's fragrance only by notes is very reductive since it was once again capable of capturing me on an emotional level. On the overall is a warm, rich incense with a sweet or better sticky and dirty twist. Orangeflower, chocolate, cinnamon blend so well together and smell so sexy on my skin. (Another very beautiful fragrance that contain this combo is Akowa by Micallef whose variation on Vetiver makes a totally different but equally sexy result) Beautiful piece of art the bottle!!

very very wow. the first exposure to it is so grand and theatrical, it really does evoke everything about walking into an old catholic church. the chocolate note is what i think is weirdly lending itself to the scent of damp and decay; it gives it that sweet facet of the "rot" of wood or leaves. church pews that have sat for hundreds of years, centuries-old layers of incense accumulating on the walls, the floors, the curtains. it really is overpowering at first, but you're filled with such an awe of what you're experiencing that it kind of takes a back seat. at the opening, you get this weirdly erotic, sweaty note that i can't pin down. miserere - gregorio allegri

If you've ever tasted/smelled fireball whisky.... this fragrance is that. It's a delightful surprise when you catch a whiff of your sillage and smell something akin to that tasty spicy whisky. Uber masculine to my nose. Not sure if a lady could pull this off. It's bold and dangerous smelling with a hint of smokiness. Also, it's not listed as a note but there's a bit of dirty oud smelling wood hidden somewhere in the cedar. It's super faint but super sexy when you pick up on it. Overall, my favorite discovery of 2025 to date, but there's a long way to go. LOL

Definitely the type of fragrance for an individual that climbs mountains of the mind, think a dinosaur of a mind, emboldened by weights of undeniable bravery... Consumed by saffron emeralds... And then wrapped in a big bowl of peanut butter cookies... That's this fragrance. Awesome on a cold day... If that cold day included rain....... And you were inside an empty building that just got done with middle school gym class.... In fall.... So many notes of peanut butter and warm oven smell..... God it's making me act up....

Warmth, beauty , sweetness, absolutely elegant and wearable. The PERFECT autumn and winter scent , 100/10 . Magical and gorgeous, balanced to perfection. Chocolatey, woody, incense , a sexyness both sweet and rough. Perfection. Incense doesn't overpower and truly smells like Christmas in the best possible way. Including the smoke of the woods being burned in the chimney on the roofs. The panettone and other Christmas delicacies, the warm hot mullet wine, but not cheap and shitty. I'm addicted .

Honey, woods, incense, smoke. Smells incredible. Frankly, a showstopper, and maybe my favorite from the 12 samples I ordered. But be aware: Two small sprays on my arm filled up a 300 sq ft plant store for multiple hours. How do I know? Because multiple customers kept freaking out about how good the shop smelled all day. Only wear it if you want it to be noticed by strangers, because it will be.

What a powerhouse of a church incense scent! Incredibly warm heart that comes from the chocolate and cinnamon, but doesn't become sickly sweet because of it. This isn't a cold abandoned church, this is a packed mass, with golden relics glittering in the candlelight. Decent longevity, I get 4ish hours out of it. Projection is insane at the start, but backs off to a polite level after 30 mins.

the first thing i see when spraying this is an old church pew - the wood soaked in years-worth of incense smoke, the surface of it burnished with countless naphthalene-infused furs. then, it slowly unfolds into delicious, gourmet grade cinnamon flavoured chocolate - dark, bitter and creamy, simply addictive. i guess this is how you make a gourmand scent for people who don't like gourmands.

Even though not listed, this fragrance to me is a thick, almost waxy honey fragrance Heavy on the incense and complemented well with the sweetness of tonka and orange blossom, giving it almost vanilla qualities The cinammon note is not very noticeable to me

the strength and longevity of this fragrance is insane. the initial incense scent can be a bit overpowering, but after an hour or two it develops an almost photo realistic honey scent that i love. very unique and beautiful over all!

Super strong. It smells like going to Christmas mass in an old church, and then afterwards having cake. Sweet, smoky, old wood soaked in centuries of incense. On my skin it turns into a warm, sweet candle like scent.

I am absolutely obsessed with this. It is the full expression of Christmas mass. When first sprayed, the incense and cedar is present. The dry down is orange and chocolate. I will be getting a full bottle.

This is very good. If your into incense, this is a must keep. Bought a bottle. One of my top ten niche, amazing bottles. The post before me, I relate whole-heartedly.

Notte di Natale strikes me as a “deconstructed” incense amber. i.e. the notes of an incense amber presented in stages. However, it didn’t strike me that way in the first hour or so wearing since I was able to stick to my strict guideline of reading as little about a perfume before trying it, and what I smelled initially made me think I was wearing Sorcinelli’s entry into the gourmand genre. The swell in the opening is a very oily and bitter vanilla tonka adorned with dork chocolate patchouli. Barely any sugary sweetness, no piquancy or greens from the patchouli, just the bitter tonka bean with its vanillic oils wrung from it and drizzled overtop an inky black chocolate. Slowly making its presence known here in the top layer is a very round and smooth cinnamon note. Yum, getting hungry. The top layers of tonka and patchouli fade quickly while the cinnamon strings down to the heart section to link up with a pleasantly citrusy orange blossom note given a dusting of powdered sugar, and red brown aromatic cedar. Though it is shifting characters from what I thought was definitely gourmand at the beginning to a floral woody thing it still smells very edible and my stomach is starting to growl, but it is also moving quite fast between these layers even for an extrait - sign number one that I was going to experience the same durability and performance issues with Notte di Natale as I have with all Sorcinelli compositions I have recalled trying. I cannot deny though that I am completely pulled-in by these top and heart layers; so far, very good. But then, like a piano falling down a flight of stairs, comes the intense incense stuffed woody amber base. Hungry no more, but maybe feeling contrite for my gluttony. It is an overwhelming frankincense presence that exists at the skin scent, and it is given breadth by an equally big cedar note. Pungent, smokey, sharp and peppery, rich and oily aromatic woody. The base is nicely done, but why did Notte need to end on this simple combination and get there so quickly? The incense and cedar base dominate the majority of Notte’s relatively short life for an extrait, but it was the top and heart sections that compelled the most - perhaps because we arrived at the final skin scent so abruptly and incohesively that it made the top and heart standout. I like the idea behind Notte, and found myself quite intrigued by it any many points, but it seems like I’m smelling a good idea that wasn’t fully understood how to be executed. A good shot, certainly, but missing too many targets for it to receive full marks from me - and definitely not full bottle worthy - but decent all the same.

Man, it would be great if you could buy this in a bottle that didn't look stupid. I like the actual smell of this a lot, so I watched a YouTube unboxing thinking it's probably not so weird-looking in person. Nope. Wrong. It's fucking HUGE. The cap is the size of an actual human hand. Funny how a tacky bottle can kneecap a great scent. But it's also kind of an interesting comment on the fragrance landscape in general. Like, I really like Benjoin Boheme, but what if I could only wear it if I had to spray it from a bottle shaped like a clown that farts on you. Would I still do it? Hard to say. I probably still would, honestly. TLDR: Unless your home decor is fucking WILD, just buy a decant, not a FB. Great scent tho.

It’s not listed in the notes, but there’s a very intense honey accord here. Imagine walking into a church on Christmas Eve: they’ve prepared a thick, honey-infused drink with subtle hints of chocolate and cinnamon. You’re sipping this beverage while taking in the solemn incense drifting through the church. The honey note feels incredibly realistic—less about sugary sweetness, and more dark, bitter, and heavy.

Opens up hot with a woody-cinnamon blast. There’s a liturgical incense under there, and a resinousness that ends up a bit skanky on my skin as it dries down. Autumnal through and through. All I see is deep golden sunlit canopies wearing this.

my low brow take is that notre dame notte di natale smells like a torrefied bitter dark chocolate version of blanche bête ie vanillic musky incense. mid longevity but i like 🫰

the smoke and spices of the olinanum on your neck eventually turn into bitterness and suffocation, like dried saliva after extremely wet kisses

The moment I sprayed this on my wrist I swear I almost genuflected out of reflex. The incense is so thick it triggered flashbacks of me as a parochial grade school altarboy dodging Father Jamie's sticky fingers. Speaking of sticky fingers, I also pick up some juicy fruit gum in the opening. Check out my Fragrantica shelf which leans towards Amouage. Both operate in the dramatic, incense-heavy territory, but they approach it with different intentions. Sorcinelli's approach is more nasty, nasty boys, gimme a nasty groove; oh, you nasty boys; lemme see your nasty body move. I should confess something. Anything. My husky/GSD mix started behaving better. The house got quieter. I think even my husband said “bless you” without sneezing. My office Alexa started reciting the rosary. This scent doesn’t whisper Christmas, it chants it in Latin while swinging a censer. I was dangerously close to becoming someone’s accidental spiritual advisor at Mark & Spencers. I haven’t been this close to sainthood since I gave up carbs for Lent at university. Wear this and be prepared because strangers at Mark & Spencers may try to light a candle in your honor. It's Janet, Miss Jackson if you're nasty.

STRONGLY resinous. Literally smells sticky on first spray. You’re at the basilica on a feast day and the incense is a little too fresh. It has since grown on me- though after two hours its strength remains. Held up to being immediately asked to wash dishes after application. Resin still the backbone of the scent as time has passed, with floral notes neither I nor my parents can put our fingers on directly. Smells like a younger sexier version of a grandmother (though mine perhaps just has good taste). Someones signature scent- but not mine. A touch too luxurious, and far too little smoke.

I don't get the hate on the bottles. I think they are amazing and fit the Memento line perfectly. I saw them and I got intrigued immediately, it's a perfect match for the theme and for the fragrances. Very well done! Instantly I get smoke/incense and honey from this. A tiny bit of florals and something cool, maybe mint or camphor. Definitely balsamic, like some sore throat honey sugar drops. I smell a tiny bit of cinnamon, lit candles. But I miss the pine notes for the christmas night feeling. I cannot imagine wearing it every day, but it could be perfect for a winter or a festive night.

Ambery, almost like honey incense in catholic church. But there is no development and fragrance feel the same. After several hours this fragrance feels annoying and undeveloped

Unfortunately this is the only one from FP that makes me gag... There's something pungent about this one... like old honey? Not for me.

Old lady who has vicks lemon and honey sweets covered in fluff in her pocket and she is offering you one. Thanks, I'll pass.

Filippo Sorcinelli is olfactory art, from the bottle design right through to the fragrance. Not everyone will appreciate it or understand it and that's okay. Some people like paintings of seascapes. Others prefer abstract works. There's a religious connotation to this collection and that can be unsettling. That said, I can't wait to try them. Wo-ho-ho. This is a beast of icense right here. If you want to feel like you are in a dark, dusty, dimly lit church with antique wooden pews, candles burning and incense smog so thick the experience is ingrained into your memory for life. This is the one. This makes all the other churchy incense fragrances I have or have smelt feel like their scents are only carried in the wind. This is as powerful as Menditorrossa's Osang but on a much darker level. It is still not quite THE perfect church incense for me because it leans heavily into the scented incense territory (think nag champa) but the darkness is there. This is MUCH heavier than LAVS which I prefer only a touch more as it doesn't have that Nag Champa incense type. The Notre Dame perfume after this (The one that was created after it caught fire) does smell different btw, I dont have a sample but smelt it in-store and it has a burnt smoke accord in the vein of IA's A City on Fire/Heretics Poltergiest & some Beaufort & Londons.

Notre Dame Notte di Natale is potent, and churchier than the church itself. The moment you spray it on your neck is the moment you step out of the cool, incense-filled air of a massive stone cathedral into a sunny spring Sunday. A surrounding garden welcomes you with some unknown bloom’s warm, honeyed spell. Bees busy around heady flowers. You wander among the bushes, contemplating the nature of things, breathing in that soft sweetness. Two hours pass like a happy moment. And then you’re like, 'nah, this world is not for me', and you go back inside. To your incense, your pews, your weeping icons, and just sit there still, for 10 hours. Those blooms faintly touch your nose sometimes, but less and less as time goes by. You’re not even sure you’ll ever leave. As much as I was impressed by the photorealistic experience and loved the garden phase, I don’t see much use for this fragrance for myself, apart from maybe if I suddenly want to bang a templar.

This is a complex, multidimensional and deeply mysterious fragrance. It is both captivating and slightly unsettling at the same time. There is something enigmatic about it that makes it impossible to remain indifferent. I clearly detect clove, noble woods, smoke, cedar and a rich honeyed accord. But this isn’t the light sweetness of fresh honey. It reminds me of dark, thick, aged honey stored for years in an old clay jar, carrying a sense of history and quiet depth. That honeyed facet gives the fragrance an almost hypnotic character. Together, these notes create an atmosphere that feels elevated, almost sacred and impossible to fully grasp. This is not a fragrance that tries to please everyone. It asks for time, attention and the right mood—and that is exactly what makes it so fascinating. To me, it is the scent of mystery, nobility and quiet inner strength.

Here, for Our Lady of this Christmas Night, the notes of amber, chocolate, and tonka combine to produce a syrupy, chrism-like, honey accord. Hypnotically drawn forward, one enters into this (un)holy sanctum sanctorum of a gilded shrine, one dedicated to some dark pagan daemon or martyred saint. The full affect is as if resinous drops of desertic incense have been lit and left to smolder upon a glistening pool of glowing honey. Of course, this envisioned setting must be so sacramentally operatic. This is a perfume for 'church', ...however you define 'church' to be. I should add that I find this serves best as as a layered accent point with other lighter, woodier, and more fully resinous incense scents. In such a pairing, perform ony one spray of this, to three or four of the other scent.

I suppose an ugly top is one way to disguise a boring bottle. Using the terms subject, back subject and tail for the notes is no doubt meant to imply artistry; to me it suggests pomposity. The price, from a brand and perfumer I know nothing about, means I have no interest in going out of my way to sample. This is the only fragrance I’d be interested in, but the amount of cedar doesn’t seem promising. I think I’ll give this brand ‘the finger’.

Liberate yourself from the grip of organized religion. Become your own Pope. All you need is a bottle of this superlatively transcendent incense perfume, blended from only the finest rare resins, spices, woods, amber, ...and of course, chocolate (Theobroma). ...and, The certain knowledge that you (and the one true Deity that speaks directly to you) are Right, ...and that all those who disagree with you (and afore-mentioned Deity) are Wrong.

Notre Dame Notte di Natale is what happens when the wicked, witchly spirit of venomous anisette, honeyed plums, and midnight-plucked flowers from Christian Dior's Poison winds its dark essence through into the flesh of a gingerbread man, wrapping itself in a crust of dark spices, black treacle, and unholy sugar. A fragrant possession of spiced damnation.

Notre Dame Notte Di Natale bursts open with a cloud of theatrically thick incense imagine a dramatic cathedral entrance - with festive touches of cinnamon and chocolate. Far from being gourmand or overly sweet, these accents lend the incense a luxurious spiciness, evoking the grandeur of the most sacred Christian celebration.

All I can smell is that same artificial honey scent that is in Bee by Zoologist. And there isn't even a honey note listed! It is so overwhelming and strong it lasts through the drydown, for the entire longevity of the scent. I smell nothing else, and it becomes unpleasant.

Im not sure if i love or hate this. It finely straddles the line between a smoky, incensed library filled with ancient books, and the decrepid house of a 60 year-long smoker. One intriguing... comforting even, and the other something that gradually makes me feel sick.

Just got the fragrance. Really really realistic church incense, which I love. Haven't tried it on my skin yet because it's summer right now. Everything about this scent is just so captivating. Probably the best blind buy I have in my collection.

Didn’t think I would enjoy a chocolate note this much. It’s rich and caramelized and dries down beautifully amberous. This isn’t a scent I would personally purchase a full sized bottle of but it’s a pleasant and artful experience nonetheless.

I don't understand why but I thought I'd hate this. Smells of a warm room lit only with candles but during the winter. It was addicting to keep smelling myself, made me want to consider church again, couldn't keep my "hands" off it.

Smells like Winnie the pooh if he was a priest but also drunk to the point where you can tell by the slight Reek of alcohol coming from him.

Smells the same as the rest of the line there’s nothing to make any of these stand apart from each other
