Rosa Fiorita

I love a green rose. Who doesn’t? If you don’t, stop here and move on. Rosa Fiorita is probably the most linear and monodimensional of Sorcinelli’s offerings, and it is all about green roses for hours. In the opening you find - surprise, surprise - an extremely jammy pink rose in a huge bed of crushed geranium leaves. The rose is vividly pink, luscious, a touch powdery, and bursting with watery and bright berry and tree fruit notes. The geranium is just as vivid, a neon presentation of bright and piquant green notes, touches of lemon zest, and a bit floral. The energy is vibrant and verdant, like a person about to burst at the seams with vitality and joy. The heart layer continues on the same path but the rose calms down, losing some of its fruity edge, and the geranium departs to leave rose paired with a lily note. The lily keeps some of the sweetness alive, but mostly works to shift the frosty neon green of the geranium to a cool white and green effect. In the final skin scent all that remains is the pink rose with its youthful and playful energy. As with nearly every Sorincelli perfume I have tried there are definition, durability, and performance issues for a supposed extrait, but, given that this is a strict rose from top to bottom, I cannot say that is a criticism to be fairly levied here. And while the linear nature is likely going to leave a lot of wearers wanting for more, I have to say its puerile and simplistic energy is infectious. It’s not full bottle worthy for me, but I very much enjoyed wearing it.

My favourite among the Memento fragrances. It smells mostly like roses. I wouldn't necessarily call it extraordinary (it's just roses, you know), however, normally I do not like florals or roses and this fragrance made me enjoy those notes, which is a huge accomplishment. Behind the wall of roses I get a hint of lily of the valley and honey too. Maybe I am crazy, but there is a sour/fresh element in it to balance out the sweetness: citruses or green apple? Maybe I am hallucinating... Nevertheless, it is a quite nice blend.

I didn't smell anything else but pure rose note in this one Opens very dense and strong almost choking you with the intensity As it dries down it becomes more pleasant/easier to inhale - it is a beautiful tamed pure and clean rose

Bright, tart, geranium-forward rosewater out of the gate. A fragrance you’ve smelled, but nicely done. Then, ruined by honey. Sadly, the honey note is so strong and long lasting, it adds a very syrupy sweetness, which is also a little dusty, to the long drydown. After the initial bright burst, it smells similar to Trudon Aphelie. I bought it before the honey part kicked in. Not the worst perfume in my collection but I would not have purchased it had I smelled the base notes sooner.

So glad I got a sample and didn't blind buy. I love roses, and I love honey, so this should have been right up my alley. Unfortunately I had overlooked the GERANIUM, which is way too strong and doesn't go away, ruining everything else in here for me.

Not impressed with this whole collection in overall:( they are all pretty unusual but the note blending quality is kinda bad, like just a random mix of notes that Filippo used to use in UNUM. Still this is one of my favourite brands, I just think this collection was a bit overhyped by the stunning bottle shapes and not too successful at the end.
