VLAD

I was lucky enough to come across a decant of this fragrance, and it quickly became a quest for a full bottle as well (a difficult one, nonetheless). The fragrance carries Sorcinelli’s DNA of heavy incense and sturdy woods- birch in this case, which is definitely the most prominent note in the composition- but there’s a beautiful airiness from the rose that makes it slightly more wearable for women as well. There’s also a clear metallic nuance, suggestive of a blood accord, but it doesn’t disrupt the composition or push it into unwearable territory. Another very interesting aspect is a fresh, minty note- almost anise-like. I’m not sure if this comes from the wormwood. It also shares similarities with Lavs, especially in its peppery, fresh-spicy accords. Extremely complex, reminiscent of other Sorcinelli creations yet perfectly unique. A love of mine and an ongoing pursuit, with hopes that Filippo might simply do another batch...

You are alone and it's the night before Ressurection. An orthodox church, with imposingly tall cobblestone arches, oil painted icons on the walls, crimson-red satin carpets on the floors. Saints faces are seemingly shifting under the flickering, dim candlelight. A wind blows through the heavy doors and puts out the candles. You smell the exposed wicks and burnt incense. The wooden floors creak with steps behind the altar. You feel His presence, for He has risen. Blood is dripping from His hands, infusing into the birch planks. You give in, with goosebumps and tears, as you are petrified with fear in front of His greatness.

One day post release and already some 2/5 ratings by some sad individuals. The only bad thing about this is that it is a limited 100 bottles release, other than that it’s just another greatly blended ritualistic F. Sorcinelli masterpiece with the myrrh/incense we know and love the brand for. Also shoutout to NicheParfumerie.ro for coming up with this amazing artistic vision.

How much hatred, envy and stupidity lies in some, that they vote 1-2, even though the perfume has just been launched exclusively for Nicheparfumerie in Romania! Shame on you, you haven't even tested the perfume and you're throwing hate! Fragrantica moderators should stop allowing everyone to vote, period!

Blend is ok i guess... I can Imagine its addictive for someone. Its incredible similar to Rose Oud from Monotheme... The cheapest perfume i own. Same stinky not really rosy not really oudy synthetic vibe. For me, dried rose with lots of birch is only 'good' conotation i can find in Vlad, but its much poorer than dried rose in Furerie from pineward. Incense accord is poor on that one too. Didona from collab with Seven Scents does probably little better work, with darker rose mixed with smoke, but also feels synthetic, and has poor longevity. If you like Vlad, im strongly recommend test the Rose Oud from Monotheme.
