Born To Empress

My friend graciously gifted me a bunch of her Fine'ry perfumes she didn't want/need anymore. I keep coming back to this one, not only because L'Imperatrice is on my wish list, but because it's so good on its own. You can definitely layer this with other fruity florals, but the combo of the rhubarb and rose is so good.

I was initially writing this review veryyy confused with the comparisons to L'Imperatrice, but then I realized I'm comparing it to the "limited edition" version. I've never smelled the original. Anyways, Born to Empress is nothing very complex but it's a really nice and fresh scent, at a pretty decent price. A little boring, but an inoffensive scent perfect for Spring and Summer. I definitely get the rhubarb, a little less of the rose, and the cypress is subtle but very nice. It's a little sweeter than I expected, and smells almost a little aquatic to me.

L’Imperatrice dupe. Ended up being too floral for me as a matter of personal taste but it was a tough call because I almost loved it. This is fresh, soapy, pink, shampoo floral. Sensible staple for anyone to have in their rotation. From memory this is pretty similar to another frag they have, Flower Bed, but admittedly it's been a while since I sniffed that one. I guess what I'm saying is they don't necessarily need both of these fragrances in their line. This one leans more soapy though due to the rose.

There is just something about this scent! The rose comes through strong, but in the best way. This reminds me of spring days in Phoenix Arizona when I go to visit my adult children. Sitting by the pool and taking in all of the fragrant flowers in bloom. It is a keeper for me. I sprayed it on my arm about 2 hours ago and it is still strong. Projection is good. I have both this one and magnetic candy (also a keeper) on opposite arms and I can smell them both. Rate- 8/10

This is L’Imperatrice (means Empress) to a T - literally sprayed one on each arm and the effect was the same. The rose/rhubarb is reminiscent of Delina but there’s a watery freshness that’s very L’Imperatrice. Ultimately, I have the D&G and don’t need a dupe but I think this will be a big hit for summer.

This smells super fresh! I get more of a fruity scent than floral, but I think this would be nice for spring or summer. It’s definitely L’Imperatrice, but lasts longer than the original on me.

Nice clean floral scent. Definitely not a dupe of Delina. It’s more a floral shampoo vibe. I like it.

I like it as a cheap spring option, but it does remind me of a sweet air freshener! I like Rosa Lina more but I don't see it on Fragrantica...

Smells exactly like a Glade air freshener I used after cleaning the public restrooms at Walgreens years ago lmao

It's okay. Nothing groundbreaking. Smells like rose water. To me it feels like it's missing a tart or citrusy component. It's like biting into a dessert and realizing it's too one dimensional, too sweet. I bought this in a pinch, but imho, there are better Finery fragrances out there (like sweet on the outside) To be clear, I am usually a fan of fruity florals. But this one just didn't do it for me. I'll finish it up, of course. Sillage and longevity is on the lower end, so it's a pretty safe work fragrance.

This one is fun, loud, and a little chaotic in a good way. It’s a little soapy, sharp, and tangy, but it mellows out just enough to keep things balanced. It gives a punk girl energy like something a spunky, outgoing girl in a garage punk band would wear. There’s a candy-like sweetness to it, but it’s not sugary. It’s more like happy screaming in a bottle. A little in-your-face... to the point where it even makes my eyes sting a little. Still, I like it!

Definitely not Delina. I was hoping for that too, guys. I'm sorry. However it IS L'imperatrice! I get that comparison totally

Great perfume, very strong - lasts forever on clothes. Refreshing, tart, and sweet.

liked it for a hot minute, smelled it again and now all i smell is laundry.

am i crazy that i think this smells more fruity than rose?
